Graphic glitch on BB

Hi all,

I recently built a new PC for my arcade pedestal and started adding roms last night.  Initially everything was working perfectly.  At some point the images for the wheel became distorted/disappeared.  I was using the unified theme at the time.  I switched back to default and that fixed the issue for a moment but then the images disappeared again.  I refreshed all images, reinstalled BB and redownloaded all meta data.  No change.  Not sure what else to do at this point and would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Edit to add the video.

Totally understand.  I didn't consider that when I uploaded it.  Just was the quickest solution to the error I received when trying to embed.  I added it to youtube:

so that should work.  I'll take a look at the thread you posted as well.

Thank you!

I went through the post and looked for the processes that caused the issues in that thread.  I don't seem to have Sonic Suite or Nahimic running on my PC.  I reinstalled my audio and VGA drivers but that didn't seem to help.  Switching back to default theme worked until I closed and restarted BB.  All other themes have the same glitch as well.  I'd like to avoid reinstalling windows if possible but I don't know what else to try.  What other details can I provide that might help get to the bottom of the problem?

nahimic would appear in the services tab, not processes. You can also try to run command prompt as administrator and then run the command "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and let that run and restart your computer to see if that helps. That process scans system files and makes sure you don't have any extra files in there that didn't get cleaned up properly, or any files that don't match what they should for your OS version.

I will give that a shot.

Tried this as well - no joy.  Any other suggestions on where to start?

Not off the top of my head. I don't know that I've ever seen that happen and it NOT be nahimic running in the services tab so at a bit of a loss at the moment.

Ok. It’s a brand new windows installation and build. Nothing to crazy. I don’t know what could have gone wrong.

Hi all.  I initially posted in the noob forum but this seems to be a problem more suited for this forum - hope the mods understand.

I have a brand new PC build (nothing crazy) I just put together just for home arcade.  I'm running:

  1. Intel Core i5-12600K
  2. MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi ProSeries Motherboard
  3. CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32GB
  4. Gigabyte AORUS NVMe Gen4 M.2 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 (boot drive)
  5. WD Red 4TB (rom storage)

When I run BB the first time everything works as it should.  Once I close the program and restart it looks like this:

I do not have Sonic Suite installed.  I do not see NahimicOSD in processes or services.  I do not see NahimicService.exe in my task manager.  I do not see Nahimic in process or services.  Not sure what additional information would be helpful.  I appreciate any help I can get.

Yeah i see you have no dedicated GPU there, Intel are notorious for bad graphics drivers so as Jason said i would definitely look there and update to the current drivers, i have seen several people with intel based handheld devices on the forums here have graphical issues, and it was always solved with driver updates. That's one of the problems with a iGPU, not only are they very weak, even compared to a very budget priced dedicated GPU, but the drivers are often trash as the same iGPU is used for several generations of CPU as they get updated far less than the actual CPU block on the chip. If i was you i would look into a dedicated GPU, Bigbox will make use of it also for improved performance there.

Certainly odd. Have you tried updating your video drivers?

I've reinstalled windows with no change.  I wiped the entire drive and the problem still shows up.  I've also reinstalled the drivers multiple times same thing continues to happen unfortunately.

I was hoping to hold out a couple of more months since GPU prices have been coming down considerably.  My plan was to get the system all squared away and plug in a GPU at some point over the summer.
