I think the 30 minute value for setting it as active doesn´t work. And I think the old badge "Not played" is redundant know. I have cases where the badge is shown two times (one is the old badge and one for the progress mechanism) Yeah, we're looking into the playtime criteria. Unplayed/Completed badges will both be removed in the new beta as well. Quote

Don't believe this is beta related and should probably be moved to it's own troubleshooting thread so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. This is likely related to the changes pertaining to video playback since migrating to .NET 9. Spin up a new thread people can attempt to help you work through the issue there. Biggest first step is to make sure you let the installer install Klite and it's codecs for you. Quote

I'm referring to the legacy badges that existed before we moved to the new "Progress" field. Old badges would show if play time/count were 0, or if you had the completed checkbox checked. New Progress badge/system should already assign the value accordingly to "Not Started / In Progress" or "Done / Mastered" and would show the appropriate badge, making the old badges redundant. Because of that we're getting rid of the old to make room for the new and avoid potential confusion. 1 Quote
Drybonz Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Ok, thanks for explaining... so the new badges still show under the box art in LB? Quote

faeran Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 Beta 4 is out with the following changes: Improved: The Big Box Default theme now displays Game Progress, and you can toggle its visibility via Options > Game Details Improved: Game Progress Option pages in LaunchBox received minor wording updates for improved clarity Fixed: The Automatic Game Progress feature will no longer auto-set games to Active / In Progress after just 30 seconds of gameplay—it now correctly uses 30 minutes (or the time you adjust it to) Fixed: Background music now behaves better in Big Box’s Hybrid Views Fixed: Game Progress status (Beaten and Mastered) now update more smoothly when earned Fixed: Badges now fall back to the Nostalgic pack if your current pack is missing a specific badge Fixed: Clearing play time in LaunchBox will now reset Game Progress to Unplayed in applicable scenarios Fixed: Controller badges now show the correct tooltip when mousing over non-selected items—no more mystery tooltips Fixed: Removed the old Unplayed/Completed badges, since the new Progress Badge handles all that and then some For people on previous betas, if you had the issue of games moving to the "Active / In Progress" state if a game had over 30 seconds of play time (instead of 30 minutes), you can either manually bulk edit those games to a different value, or follow the same steps to refresh your game's progress. Same steps below as beta 3. This should be the last time you'll need to do this 🤞 Open LaunchBox, go to your All Games section. Select all games, open the Bulk Editor, and set Progress to blank (ie. empty). Close LaunchBox and wait for the background save process to finish completely. Navigate to: LaunchBox\Data\Settings.xml Open the file in a text editor and delete any of the following lines if they exist: <HasMigratedToProgress> <HasSetAutoProgressDefaultValues> Now reopen LaunchBox. It should migrate your data again with the new default structure correctly in place. 2 1 Quote
Drybonz Posted Wednesday at 10:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:37 PM With the new progress system, are the badges in the Images>Badges obsolete? Can I delete that folder and just use the media packs folder? Quote

Drybonz Posted Thursday at 05:47 AM Posted Thursday at 05:47 AM On beta 4, if I reduce the timer for marking a game as "in progress", it repeatedly sets it back to 30 minutes. 1 Quote

Chris G Posted Thursday at 04:08 PM Posted Thursday at 04:08 PM Importing via drag and drop seems to be broken in all the betas. If I drag a rom onto the platform view "Nintendo Entertainment System" in LB, it imports the ROM but doesn't categorize it correctly, and I have to find it in the "All" view. It is imported, but it has no metadata nor box art. -Chris. Quote

Can you run the import again and stop and take a snapshot of the page that asks what platform you're importing to? I'd suspect it incorrectly says "All" Quote

I'd suspect it incorrectly says "All" The platform is set incorrectly here: So I manually switch the platform to "Nintendo Entertainment System": It matches the correct emulator: I selected "Use Files in current location" and complete the import. Annnnnnd it worked this time. Probably because I set the platform correctly. If I leave it as "NES" it fails to import correctly, creating a new "NES" platform and sticking the title in that view. I swear it used to select the platform correctly without this manual step in previous versions. -Chris. Edited Thursday at 05:07 PM by Chris G Quote

This should be entirely possible (though ideally you'd set the scrape as to Nintendo Entertainment System to get DB matches and art. Quote
