Trouble importing some Steam and Epic games properly
BrainyCabde replied to BrainyCabde's topic in Noobs
Yup. Figured that to be the case and just copy and pasted all the metadata in the correct fields and then downloaded the front cover art for each game. Edited the Final Fantasy games and deleted the database ID for the wrong ones and re-scanned and found the correct year for the 3D remakes. -
Thank you @Lordmunkus. I'll reply back if I get it up and running.
-
Sorry for late reply. It doesn't work. I launched skse64_loader.exe through Launchbox adding it as an additional app for Skyrim Anniversary Edition. It got to the main menu and the first thing I noticed was my custom main menu background was missing. It also said thanks for buying the Anniversary Edition and had a download button in the middle. I already have purchased the AE version for Skyrim and downloaded the update through the game so it was trying to get me to do that again basically.

So I have the Pixel Remasters of Final Fantasy III and IV and the 3D Remakes also installed through Steam. When I added my Steam games to Launchbox, it gave me 2 Final Fantasy III 3D remakes and 2 Final Fantasy IV 3D remakes. It didn't give me the Pixel Remasters. Also, when I imported my Epic games Crysis 2 and 3 Remastered didn't have any metadata/media downloaded at all but Crysis 1 Remastered had no problem at all.

Is there a way to get Launchbox/BigBox to remember my filter selection? When I click into another platform and go back the filters are reset. It'd be great to set filters for each platform and have them remebered.
-
That would just launch the game without loading the mods through Mod Organizer 2 though wouldn't it? Since the SKSE file is located right in the Skyrim directory.
-
So how would I go about launching SKSE through Mod Organizer 2 without having to actually click the Run button in Mod Organizer 2?
-
That makes sense. Well all is well. If anyone runs into this issue, use the windows key+p and select second screen only. This way everything is forced to launch on the 2nd screen. Steam's Big Box mode has an option to launch on the secondary screen, and when it does, it switches primary and secondary screens around temporarily while in Big Box mode. Maybe Launchbox could do something like this in a future update.
-
I just wonder why LB doesn't respect the emulator remembering position settings(my secondary display in this case) and just forces the game onto whatever is primary at that moment. I'll try to figure out a script for each of the emulators that are problematic and report back if I find anything useful.
-
Also, when for example launching a game for RPCS3 using Launchbox, I tried to move the window to my secondary monitor and going into fullscreen. It just fullscreens back to my primary screen. RPCS3 by itself defaults to my secondary monitor with no issue.
-
Yeah, it launches on the wrong monitor each time and doesn't remember position.
-
The above doesn't seem to work for me at all. Dolphin on it's own remembers it's window position and launches on my second monitor no problem. But when I launch a game through LaunchBox, it for some reason launches on my primary monitor. Is there a special script that could fix this or maybe other setting in the dolphin.ini? Edit - PCSX2 and RPCS3 have this same issue. They when using their exe alone, they'll launch on the 2nd display no problem. When launching a game through LB for these emulators, it'll be on my primary display. I was able to fix the problem on PCSX2 by using this script... SetTitleMatchMode, 2 Loop { IfWinActive, Slot { Send #+{Right} Break } } CXBX Reloaded and Xenia are literally just not able to launch on the 2nd screen at all.
-
Excellent. Thank you!

I know LB has the feature to resume downloads when exiting and re-launching the app, but what if my PC crashed? Is there a way to start where I left off, or at least download just the media that i'm missing?
-
I don't want to create a new topic, so i'm just going to use this one from yesterday. While importing my MS-DOS collection, all was going well until I turned on my 2nd monitor this morning and crashed my PC. Is there a way for me to continue downloading where I left off. I was done downloading the stuff from LB and was a good chunk of the way through the Emumovies part.
-
Awesome, thank you. You guys are the best.
-
Could you please link me to the install method for the Retroarch(dosbox pure) method?
-
Ok thanks. I think I'll stick with unzipped then since the space saved is only 150gb or so for the collection. Does Doxbox come with LB?
-
I just want to run them with the Launchbox default(I think it's exodos?).
-
My MS-DOS games are in .zip format. Can I import them like this?

Some DS games are scraping media for the wrong platform
BrainyCabde replied to BrainyCabde's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, that's the thing. I did set it to scrape those with proper names. It for some reason clears all of that even after having it set right on the first run. Second run, no problem. Either way, it's all good. I figured out a workaround. -

BrainyCabde replied to BrainyCabde's topic in Troubleshooting
Here's another picture of the parents structure. This was all on first attempt. I'm sure second attempt will be fine. So what i've been doing is just running the import process. If the platform appears on the wrong section of parents, I cancel and restart. I can also see the images as they are imported on the games list and tell if there's other platform images being imported. So basically, i've found a workaround. I just don't know why it reacts this way on first try with some platforms. Not a deal breaker, just interesting. -

Sorry for the late reply @C-Beats. I have imported my Gamecube games and come across the same issue. Here is the screenshot that you had requested before for the Game Gear library, but for the Gamecube collection.
