Question. Looks like if I use the title of the rom from mame it doesn't work. The title from launchbox works if it does not have any symbols in it. But as we know, a lot of mame games have symbols in them? Any options? Or am I missing something?

I have a ton of mame controls art files I'm using for a pause screen theme however the files I have are named with the "standard" mame game name. I need to rename them to ideally the launchbox ID. I did a file manually--- xmen.png and renamed to the launchbox ID and the controls show on my pause screen as expected. It is awesome. But what is not awesome is the prospect of renaming ~3k files by hand. Any ideas? I feel like it should be doable but not sure where to start looking. Thank you so much in advance!

One more try here but anyone figure out which files should and shouldn't be synced? Running a desktop and HTPC on big screen setup that are synched with Synchyback but have been getting settings.xml corruption issues and I wonder if that is why.

OK I should delete my first post with tail between my legs but just in case me being an idiot helps anyone else in future I'll weigh in here. I had show favorites first selected (Options>Views in Bigbox) so of course the game I favorited would not show in alphabetical order in the all games list since I was quite literallying telling big box to put it first. Ooops! Carry on.

Ok, let me explain my scenario/use case because this is a hard question to formulate. Thanks in advance. Basically, I have Bigbox/Launchbox setup with playlists so most things are all in root directory. Ie. NES is in root on main page and then I have playlists under that favorites, all games, best of games. In launchbox all is well if I favorite a game it gets added to the favorites playlist and stays in the all games playlist as well. HOWEVER, in bigbox if I mark a game as favorite it adds it to favorites playlist but removes it from the all games section. I am thinking there is a checkbox somewhere i have to change but it happens on both launch/big box installs I have so I don't think it is an xml file issue. Any thoughts? Sample NES > All Games > Favorites > Best of

So---I have done a few basic scripts for pause screens etc. but compiling as an .exe file is close to another language to me. That is not something you can share is it?

LOL, sorry. I still haven't found a way to do this yet. Ie. have wiimote work as light gun in Dolphin for wii games and Mame. Can't justify any other purchases as the moment to improve light gun play so hoping this can get me through for a bit.

Sorry but would you be able post the exact script and how to implement? I have my wii motes working great with dolphin for Wii games but I believe I have to use touchmote before mame to get them to register in mame. I don't want to have to separately run touchmote play mame then quite before running a wii game so it sounds like your solution is exactly what I"m looking for.

This is an old one but I'm trying to get my BigBox to display just like you were. When using platform categories as the main view I have to put to the "console" platform category somewhere even though I don't need it since I have all the consoles I need in the root. How did you handle that?

QQ, how did you handle the different screen resolutions on desktop vs cabinet? I am trying to get a true sync with my desktop and HTPC launchbox and games etc. are synced great through goodsync but resolution specific settings--say tweaks to make a game play area fit in bezel/overlay correctly gets messed up with teh different resolutions between machines. I have to manually tweak anything not just set to 4:3.

So wanted to throw another wrench in the works on this and see if you folks much smarter than me have any suggestions. I'm setting up a NO FILLER machine and want to have it mirrored on my desktop in my office and the HTPC upstairs on the big screen. I want everything synched and have that end covered with Goodsync and roms and such sync up great. However, I use "bezels' or more accurately I guess overlays for all the systems and many of them I have to "tweak" the x/y axis of similar to get the playing area to fall in the bezel correctly. However those tweaks are different based on which monitor/resolution I'm using. Any thoughts? Assuming there are a few files I could not sync and solve the issue but unsure which it would be. Thus far I'm only using Retroarch and Dolphin. Thanks in advance.

Tried it again with several things Wii console with just 1 item, steam again, etc. And never did get it work. Guess I'll wait for it it get incorporate what is an extra 3 clicks. Appreciate your help though!

Every time it works 100% correctly the first time adding Steam to Platform Launch in the addon. In other words if I click on arcade or whatever it loads arcade games list as expected, I click on Steam launcher and it launches directly to steam as I wanted. Joy---except NOT. Because now after that initial time, every subsequent time I launch any platform from bigbox instead of games list I get steam. BUT the plot thickens. If I exit Bigbox and come back in---same thing all works as expected again for the first time only. Until AFTER I launch steam. Then every platform launches steam directly from wheel instead of entering games list. But if I exitBigbox all is good again until I launch steam. WTH?!?! Hah, crazytown.

Yes. Exactly this LOL, very very strange. I could make an excellent "breaker" of software as I always find a way. Did this and only 1 text file in that folder "steam.txt" Wonky.

Grr..the Ghost is in the machine--now the platform steam is launching for everything in the main menu (even those not assigned or with more than 1 game). This is happening in the default-copy theme too. Hmm.... EDIT: Even stranger here is that hte first time I test it it works as expected...steam launches directly from platform---other platforms open game selection...but 2nd time all platforms launch steam directly.

Hahh, many thanks---it actually helps to know I'm not alone in the craziness of the time spent tweaking versus timing playing formula.

Working as intended on default theme which is good enough for me for now. Much appreciated...Launchbox is amazing but surprised this ask wasn't a bigger priority for the team.

LOL, so still no other solution for launch from main menu that you know of? Seems like I spoke too soon as now the steam app is launching for all platforms now lol! Going to try a fresh install of plugin on copy of default theme and see if that works as I was using coverart but I have no real theme allegiance!

When you are right...you are right. So everything looked like it was taking correctly but guess whose folder structure in the plugins directory was Plugins>LaunchPlatform 1.02>Launchplatform>.dll files That is all it took of course. I was careless when extracting as I was so excited to have found a solution. As far as I can tell this functionality has not been added to Bigbox so I'm shocked this plugin isn't getting more attention. It is working GREAT now. Hopefully this helps anyone else who may be going too fast also. I'm finally creating a "mini" Bigbox setup that I'll actually use versus 10k games of garbage. So having it be clean and simple is key--this definitely helps that to happen so thanks to you for that sir.

Really appreciate the quick response. Even the copy of the default theme doesn't work for me. Wonder if a recent update in LB caused the issue? Not a big deal but was excited to have a solution to launch Steam Big Picture mode directly from the main wheel. Tried a couple of platforms that had only 1 game and results are the same.
