Adding my 2 cents for sh*ts & Giggles. IF a game has a PR release pack and/or digital store box, they should always take priority for Box - Front/Back. These are essentially 1-for-1 the same as the designers final version (barring any last minute changes after PR pack releases) and nothing else will come close with respect to quality and accuracy. High quality unedited scans should be used next because if scanned correctly, these are more faithful to the designers original work than any recon. Reconstructions i.e. layering elements to replicate the original box may be fairly accurate to the original, and certainly be of "high" quality but I have NEVER seen the perfect reconstruction yet that is both higher quality AND as accurate as the original. There are always some quality differences between the base image/layered elements or some asset alignment/box ratio issues that makes the reconstruction obvious. The only person that could maybe do a near perfect recon is the original designer, using all of the original assets and even that's questionable that they could recreate it 1-for-1. Now for edited images, I personally don't mind if an image, with only some small/light edits is added to the Box - Front/Back category. But it should always be added as a separate Box - Front/Back if an original scan is present. That way people have a choice between quality & fidelity. Heavily edited images can, without a doubt, be higher quality than some original artwork scans. But in the end, ANY editing, big or small, by definition is a recon. You have literally reconstructed/recreated an approximation of the original image/design. Those were just my personal preferences, but ultimately, the recon category is there for a reason and regardless of quality/fidelity or peoples personal opinions, the guidelines are clear: Rule 7 - Front and Back Box Art must have the proper regional tag and be added to the proper category. Rule 7.1 - Reconstructed box art can not be used in any other category then the reconstructed section.

These are the settings I use and I have no trouble picking any of the tracks and the controls for the cars are pretty good as well. I also did full tilt for left and right in the F2 menu.

How to manually assign game ID in LaunchBox?
Scotsman replied to g2mXagent's topic in Troubleshooting
Right click the game and edit the metadata/media and in the title field type front mission gun hazard. Then click search for metadata and the game should show up. -
you need to go to desert island for MFME Register, post a couple times and you'll be able to download it.

They've probably hit the shortcut keys to hide the side panel. At the top of the window click View > Show/Hide > Side bar and enable it, that should get it back.

Sonic Playlist? Any ideas how to get this done?
Scotsman replied to Mr.Laor's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, you're probably bound to run into problems with that many games. I've only got a couple thousand so I haven't had any problems with the genres (Yet) But glad to hear it helped with the James Bond Collection at least. -

My Apologies, I didn't realize Sonic Boom had been released on multiple platforms (I've only ever played the Arcade version) You can try this, copy and paste this value into the genre field "Shooter; Shooter / Flying Vertical; Construction and Management Simulation" without the quotes and this should remove Aerobiz & Sonic Boom (Arcade & the Activision release for the C64) and include Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing Arcade. Now the other problem is, if you have Sonic Boom for the Amstrad, Amiga or the NET Software release for the C64, they will still be included because they are marked as Action instead of Shooter. So if you include action in the genre field, it'll remove some of the sonic games. The only thing I can think of is to select these versions and change the genre to shooter and that should then remove them from the playlist as well. -

This is what I use for my sonic games, all my rom hacks are included and it stops Sonic Boom & Sonic Wings from being included. however I don't have any sonic games past the 16bit era so I can't say if it'll work for anything newer. if you want the sonic arcade games, you could switch out Platform for Genre > has none of the values > Shooter / Flying Vertical and this also stops Sonic Boom & Sonic Wings being included -
No problem bud, unfortunately my skills don't extend to redraws atm but hopefully someone can help you out.

Hopefully these are ok for you, the only one I haven't done is the Castle of Dragon cause I have to head out to work. I'll add these to the database when i get the chance later.

Go back to the edit screen and delete the Launchbox ID, Then type Track Mania with a space into the game name and search again and you should get a list and at the bottom is the 2020 release

As @C-Beats has said, I would check your settings to see if they are maybe hiding the games. as a test I imported the romset zipped and unzipped and all 48 went in both times without issue.

Scotsman replied to WraithTDK's topic in Troubleshooting
I've got the .229 set and the only cdi bios included was the cdimono1.zip, I had to get the rest online. It's about time I updated my set anyway -

Scotsman replied to WraithTDK's topic in Troubleshooting
these 2 files can be found in the cdi910.zip, I couldn't find it in any romset, so had to download it from the web.
