  1. I found a copy of Windows 10 Enterprise that says you can't upgrade from an older version of Windows and need to do a fresh install though... I suppose I could give you my 13.8 file that's in my "Updates" folder, but I'm not sure at all that's enough to install Launchbox entirely. But I would be very surprised unbroken software don't let you choose which version of Launchbox you would like to install.
  2. By the way, does anyone know of a way to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or 11? From within Windows I mean, not by formatting my whole f*cking hard drive and buying the disc and spending hours reinstalling the whole thing. A way to update Windows 7 much like some softwares like LB/BB do, whether for free or at a fee?
  3. If only you guys @ unbroken software could find some way to reenable retroachievements support in a future update at least, one that would use only the same assets as update 13.8 for us folks now officially stuck in the past. It should be possible since I have (fond) memories of playing my roms with Retroarch from Launchbox and unlocking plenty of achievements just a few updates ago. I don't know what killed the functionality, or why...
  4. I unticked those boxes in the option menu and now it seems I can run Launchbox again, yes, thanks.
  5. But the thing is, Launchbox/Bigbox keeps downloading the 13.9 update in the background, AFAIK there's no way to disable it, and when I switch to Launchbox or Bigbox it tries to install update 13.9, so I stop it from installing it, but then Launchbox or Bigbox don't start anymore... The only way I can start it now is to reinstall 13.8 update from the updates folder...every single time. Surely there has to be a way to close the lid for Windows 7 users...? I can cope with not having the new LB/BB updates for as long as I stay on Windows 7, but not having to start LB/BB by reinstalling update 13.8 on top of everything every time. There's got to be another way...
  6. Damn, I spoke too soon. Now no amount of double-clicking on either Launchbox or Bigbox will start any of the two... Heeeeelp
  7. It worked, it seems. I think it has simply overwritten over version 13.9, thanks. Please tell me there is a fix coming to let us users of Windows 7 upgrade to Launchbox 13.9 and the rest at some point, pretty pleaaaase. I had high hopes for update 13.9 after hearing it was going to repair the lost compatibility with retroachievements, to which retroarch hasn't been able to log in in months. Playing my oldies with the achievements was so much better!
  8. That's precisely the problem: my "Launchbox" folder, which contains all the folders, the Launchbox.exe & Bigbox.exe and my license and stuff, is in a folder called "Launchbox - Bigbox", but I don't remember if I created it or if Launchbox created it, so when I double-click on Launchbox 13.8.exe I don't know how to write over the existing Launchbox 13.9... I'm afraid it's just going to create another instance of LB/BB. Isn't there a simpler method?
  9. I beg to differ, It kinda is, in mine, considering among the people who purchase the lifelong license I'm sure there are quite a few who are still on Windows 7. Gotta love the irony that a software that aims to make your collection of old arcade, adventure & console games from the 70s, 80s & 90s look good and all gathered in one place would require absolutely the latest Windows OS and not the one that came out in 2010 and is just what, a little over a decade old. Plus, come on, as stated by the guys behind LB/BB, it's to "beautify" your games collection. It's hardly NASA tech you're gonna need in there...
  10. It's all in the title really. The last update, 13.9, has caused issues for us users of Windows 7 64 Bit. I for one cannot upgrade to Windows 10 or 11 right now. I'm not even sure there's a way to do that from Windows 7. So unless the team comes up with a fix soon, I'm simply deprived of Launchbox & Bigbox altogether, since the app flatout refuses to start now. I'd like to know if there's a way to fall back on version 13.8. Double clicking on LaunchBox-13.8-Setup.exe in the updates folder is not what I call falling back on 13.8, that's installing a separate instance of Launchbox... Aren't there just a couple files/folders to replace to fall back on 13.8? Any help would be appreciated.
  11. I have the same problem, and an other user too on another thread on the forum, it seems to be due to Windows 7 (64 Bit). Here's hoping the LB/BB team have a fix coming for us people.
  12. Yep, Windows 7 64 bit user over here. Not too many people use this OS anymore, so I guess that's why there's not a lot of people complaining in the forum. I tried simply deleting update 13.9 from that folder, but it broke LB/BB even more, so I restored it. How do you fall back on update 13.8 exactly? Mind explaining that?
