Thanks. My idea was to create a separate section in Bigbox to easily navigate between platforms containing light gun games as I usually plugin my Sinden gun then play a few games then unplug it (hence the idea of hiding light gun games from controller based games lists). I configured it to be able to navigate in Bigbox, use pause screens and use emulator hotkeys so I can leave controllers and keyboards behind while using it. I guess creating custom platforms would be the most sensible as I also put light gun roms in their own sub folders so reimporting them would be easy. However I spent 3 hours setting up the category with all the platform playlists and media yesterday I don't think I have the motivation to start from scratch again. I think what I wanted to do would be a useful feature. There's definitely more use cases.

Hi I just separated my light gun games within their own platforms (created as auto-populated playlists) under a "Light Gun Games" category, I would now like to hide all light gun games from regular platforms but still have them appear in the various light gun platforms I just created, is this possible?

These are all the platforms I know have light gun games so far and that are in my collection: -3do -Atari 7800 -Arcade: MAME, Teknoparrot, Naomi, model 2, Model 3. - Nes - SNES - Wii - Master System - Mega Drive / Genesis - Mega CD / Sega CD - Saturn - Dreamcast - Playstation 1 / 2 / 3 - XBOX

Launchbox 13.17 - High CPU Usage, Slow Boot Times, and Sluggish Speeds
Kefka2b replied to Wally's topic in Troubleshooting
As far as I am concerned it is performing very well, I also have a quite decent system nvme ssds only, i7 13700k, RTX 3070ti and 64gb ddr5 ram. However, since either upgrading windows 11 to 24h2 from 23h2, or to LaunchBox 13.17 (can't remember when it started), each time I start LaunchBox it hangs for about 20 seconds once it's opened. -
Hi is there any way to show RTSS overlays over BigBox? Not interested in stats, but I want to use it to show a Sinden Light Gun border.

I curate my rom sets however I mainly remove all the baby, girlie, Barbie , billions of American football and wrestling games.

Take the occasion and convert all your games to .CHD , this will reduce the size drastically and also you'll end up with 1 file per game. Otherwise go to the Sony PlayStation platform XML file in the Launchbox folder and with a file editor like Vs code use the search and replace all feature and replace all .bin by .cue, if you converted your games to CHD format then replace .bin by .chd

It's also good to have more management features if you are using bigbox as shell.

I am not able to get the device PNG images to display before transitions to videos for all custom playlists and categories, basically for all the ones that don't have a colour attributed in the theme files and default to the green box (where it shows number of players , year etc either for games or Platforms). Is it expected?

Thanks for your reply! so this would work and need to be setup on a game by game basis? I am using a build with all my games and the idea would be to be able to switch from Light gun games to controller games easily.

Hello AHK wizards! I am looking for a script that would keep the Sinden border window always on top of everything. I know I can use bezels with borders and I am doing it for Retroarch games already, however it's quite clunky for other emulators, and most importantly and this is why I am looking for this, is to have the border on top of LB/BB to navigate menus with the gun directly (it always requires to disable / re-enable again the border to show, when either opening the pause screen, or quitting a game back to BB for example, as I have an off-screen gun button shortcut for border activation/deactivation to use other buttons in game, it makes it hard to re-enable without the border on). Sinden has a process running always, but when opening the border with the gun shortcut, a second window containing the border is actually opened until the border is disabled again from the gun. Big noob question, where should I put the script in Launchbox? Thanks!

Also think it would be great.

Can confirm I am able to use the options with Trigger set to "Enter", just a bit of a hassle when opening the pause screen the border needs to be disabled and re-enabled to show-up, I am having the same thing with other programs like Retroarch where the border is behind the program, which is ok as I use the Megabezel shaders with integrated borders for all my Light gun games (all are 4:3 aspect ratio) with content directory shader presets, the border remains on top correctly on PCSX2 for example.

Sinden controls are bound to keyboard/mouse, I guess I'll have to change the default trigger from "mouse 1" to "enter" to actually confirm choice in the Pause screen. Pretty cool being also able to fast-forward and rewind from the gun itself with Retroarch hotkeys as it allows to bind a controller and a KBM key to all input options!

Oh well I feel stupid now, that was a simple as that lol.

Hi, I have set this option (Num 6) to be able to open the Pause screen from keyboard (idea is also to be able to open it from Sinden gun) but it doesn't do anything. The controller automation works fine using the home button. What is this option supposed to do?

Community Playlist 📄 Party Time! 🥳 + Steam Key Giveaway

Hey here's my submission: - F-Zero (SNES) - PES 3 (PS2) - Time Crisis (Arcade) - Baldur's Gate: The Dark Alliance (PS2) - Team Fortress (Windows) -
Thanks everyone at the Launchbox team, the best front end by far and a great community. Really looking forward to the save manager features in 13.16! My question is regarding Bigbox themes, is there plans to take over theme development of at least the most popular themes (Colorful 4K and 3 or 4 more for example), and update them regularly, implementing all features available in Launchbox (install/uninstall Steam games for example), and also integrating customisation options for themes directly like in emulation station (colours, button aids styles etc...), feels like Bigbox is a bit left behind and relying on users to develop themes (I'd like to learn CTC but I don't have the time). I'd love to setup a Bigbox as shell system but it feels like I would be needing to move back and forth to Launchbox frequently.

I would also really like this to be implemented as I am using loads of different controllers, arcade stick and a sinden light gun.

Community Playlist 📄 Top 5 Games Of All Time 🎖️ + Steam Key Giveaway
Kefka2b replied to AstroBob's topic in Community Corner
Really cool topics you are brining to this community! My top 5 (choice is really hard though so I went quick without thinking too much about it): - Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System): The first game I ever played, probably was like 5 or 6, my big bro got a Master System and this game was integrated within the console, the rest is history (remember noting down the henchmen's rock paper scissors combinations, my first cheats!), never actually finished it as it was hard and unfair as fuck like most games back then, until I could rewind and save in Retroarch. - Sonic 3 & Knuckles (MegaDrive): Revolutionary combining of 2 MegaDrive cartridges to make a big awesome game (I think it was supposed to be a single game in the first place, but it was too massive for a single cartridge or something like that), ability to save games, and of course when obtaining all the emeralds from both games, transforming into hyper Sonic... What a great time that was. - Final Fantasy VII (PSX): What can I say, my first experience of RPGs and never went back, played it a billion times, still got my PSX memory card with the save that's beaten it all ( golden chocobo, knights of the round, ruby and emerald weapons defeated etc...), it was 3 blocks out of 15 if memory serves me well (no pun intended), but too valuable to delete. Just started another playthrough with the 7th heaven mods on pc, it's magnificent. - Dark Souls (PS3): A game that will ruin the video game experience for me somehow, if it wasn't a challenge like a souls games then it was not a good game to me, I would always compare everything to DS. I could have put Bloodborne instead as it's probably the best souls game for me, but DS was my first one. The level design was also absolutely amazing, first time I used wikis and communities for games as it was a bit of a crazy mess to understand the mechanics, and actually build a character that could have a chance. - Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4): Never thought I would like playing a female character so much, never bothered getting trophies that often for games in general but this game made me want to achieve the platinum trophy and I did it (my only one so far). Just amazing story, graphics, gameplay, world exploration, and crazy combat against colossal machines. I could just put the controller down and admire the scenery, never felt so sucked into a game. The sequel was disappointing as it didn't really bring innovative concepts, not surprising, considering how complete and ground breaking, this masterpiece already was. - Bonus (sorry), Dark Age of Camelot (PC): Couldn't not include this one as I spent way too much time of my youth on it, and my best friends also, for me the only MMORPG that ever managed to capture my console gamer attention, I didn't have a PC back then and only played in Internet Cafés, yes it was a huge budget. Unforgiving game, no fluff, crazy exp grinding, but of course a realm Vs realm PvP system which was absolutely amazing with fort and relic raids, with hundreds of players fighting, it was revolutionary. There was a real sense of belonging to your realm, as you could only create characters on 1 realm per server. The time investment to progress on a character was so huge that rerolling wasn't really a thing and you will stick to it, Midgard powaaaaaaa, never got to know Albion or Hibernia during at least the first 2 years of playing this game. -
Those shaders have been a revelation to me, never liked other CRT shaders or even understood the point of having them, but 2D console games just look so much better than when using raw pixels on an OLED tv, and curves and reflections are so immersive. Indeed need a decent GPU, my rtx3070 ti runs at 200 watts when using these shaders 😂.
