  1. Can you get discs to show up in any other themes? I suppose it's possible that there's some kind of weird configuration issue with your machine, but I would have expected it to come up before now. What's your screen resolution?
  2. Oic. I had to dive in deeper. Yeah, currently it's getting filtered out by skipping unplayable games and that's the only way those are getting filtered out. I hadn't considered that anyone would use the MAME/Arcade full-set import wizard for non-MAME stuff, but I do see your use-case. I'll add this to my list, though I feel like maybe we can come up with a better way of doing it than using the MAME wizard to import non-MAME games.
  3. The above fixed everything just fine for me in the Unified Redux theme, but I'm guessing maybe @RetroHumanoid must have changed something related to that if it's not working for the Refried theme.
  4. I can confirm that the spinning discs do work just fine with 9.0 and version 1.3 of this theme. Make sure you've tried all the views; there are more than you think because the views are similar. Also make sure you can get discs to show up in other themes. Do the discs show up at all for you? If not, they're probably either missing or not configured for your collection.
  5. The pointers do appear to be working fine for me in the actual games lists, but yes it's always the Big Box logo while you're navigating platforms, playlists, and categories. This is because the theme was designed before we had all the nested levels and the pointer is just always set to that Big Box one until you get to the games lists. I'll take a look but it might not be easy to resolve and I wouldn't consider it a major issue.
  6. Looks like you can currently skip those ROMs by checking the box to skip non-arcade games. We could probably use another option to "skip devices/BIOS" but I guess it was never considered because they're not arcade games in the first place.
  7. It looks like you have duplicated arcade playlists. I'm guessing one is the old style and one is the new style playlists. You can manually delete them and then just go to Tools > Create Missing MAME/Arcade playlists.
  8. Yes, it will. It will add anything missing that is in the current version of MAME and selected in the criteria.
  9. If you take a look at the MAME.xml file in a text editor, you can see the reasons for why games are or are not excluded. That data comes from MAME. It's not always perfect, but it's very close.
  10. We might be able to do something of that nature in the future. One disadvantage of that approach is that it wouldn't be usable by anyone without training, unless you had a button on your console marked "Filter by Genres" or something. Still, I can see that being useful. One idea that has come up before is to add a new button to the alphanumeric index bar with some simple filter options, so we'll probably go that route eventually.
  11. Yeah, for the moment, it seems that way, though I see now how it could be an issue for some people. At some point we may look to overhaul that playlists view.
  12. Having them as children under the platform is pretty much exactly what you get with the platform categories. Have you tried the platform categories view?
  13. Great to hear. Thank you @DerSchlachter.
  14. I looked into this recently and the VLC 3.x series unfortunately makes some major changes that will require significant work to get working with LaunchBox and Big Box. It is on my list, but as it's not a simple task, it's currently not my highest priority.
  15. If you run the full importer again, it will add any new games without making any duplicates. It won't delete any games that have been removed from the new version of MAME, however.
  16. Yeah, I agree that it would be nice for folks to know what version of MAME that the metadata is on. It's not *quite* that simple because we use a combination of the MAME generated metadata as well as a number of list files that usually take a bit to get updated, but I almost always update the MAME metadata itself the day or the day after the new version of MAME is released.
  17. I see. We would need separate clear logos for each and every playlist if you want to view them all in that flat view. If you use the text list, you do get the full names, but creating separate clear logos for every playlist in every platform would be kinda nuts (though certainly possible by just combining the platform and the playlist clear logos I would guess). Either that or we could add something to hide these playlists from the standard playlists view.
  18. @harryoke This one is cut off slightly at the top of the image.
  19. Wanna make one at 3840x1600 for my ultrawide?
  20. Those look awesome Harry. I'll see how they look in Big Box and maybe we can switch them in as the defaults.
  21. You mean the complete list of platforms and playlists? It would be extremely long, but the complete list would contain all the platforms listed on the LaunchBox Games Database, all the genres listed on the LaunchBox Games Database (you can see the full list by going to add a game), all the regions, Single Player, Multiplayer, and Cooperative. Then there's developers and publishers, but that would be a crazy undertaking. Also all the arcade playlists which are separate. Lol.
  22. @RetroHumanoid When you get back online, take a look at the minor changes I made to Unified Redux. You guys can probably get everything all working again with 9.0 by editing the files in the views folder, searching for "FilterTitle" and replacing them all with "NonPlaylistNonCategoryPlatformTitle".
  23. By the way guys, 9.0 is out, and all the new clear logos are beautiful.
  24. The genres originally came from http://thegamesdb.net, way back from when we were given their data and started our own games database. It's barely been changed since then. I know it's not perfect, but it's decent and changing them would be quite a process, considering.
  25. I hear you. It's on my list.
