  1. Beta 3 is out now with a slight fix for the new property for the Unified themes. Planning to put out the new release on Monday, assuming testing goes well.
  2. You can turn on the DebugLog in the Settings.xml file (just look for the DebugLog line and change it to true). Then logs with show up in the Logs folder. What I would recommend though first off is to install a fresh copy of the latest version and then copy over the Data folder. If it still doesn't start up, then most likely you have corrupted data, unfortunately. From there, you can start removing XML files from the data folder one by one to find the culprit.
  3. Good discovery here. However, I'm not 100% on what's going on. What is Steam doing exactly? Is it converting the keyboard presses from your arcade board to game controller presses? Does it work to disable game controllers in Big Box?
  4. Hi @ckp, I have thought about the possibility of allowing people to auto-generate playlists for all platforms. I expect that will make it in eventually. Per the image groups, it remembers a separate image type for each platform/category/playlist, but I recognize that that's not necessarily intuitive. I'll put that on my list. As of right now, I don't think this is possible. You can't really just copy the playlist, because the playlist needs to be modified for each platform, so copying honestly doesn't really make much sense. I'm with you on the add favorites, rate, and mark as broken while Big Box is locked. I have those on my list already. The apps in the root thing has been on the poll a couple times now (if I recall correctly) and just hasn't gotten much of an audience. It seems like a simple thing, but as it goes against the grain of the organization, there's cause for confusion and won't really be straightforward to implement.
  5. I'm guessing Arcade is a platform, and not a category? LaunchBox won't let you nest platforms inside of platforms, so the way to fix it is to create an Arcade category in the root, and then just move the arcade platform into it. That's how it works by default but maybe you moved it to the root?
  6. Sadly you might not be able to get past it since your work has locked down the machine; that would be my guess.
  7. Also, are you using Rocket Launcher? Does it happen if you launch Big Box without Kodi?
  8. Is this happening with Windows games? If not, what emulator are you using at the time?
  9. @omlifecrew What type of arcade controller do you have? What happens if you open Notepad and try the buttons? Do you get the same weird, duplicate inputs?
  10. It's just a matter of developing the feature. Hasn't been completed yet.
  11. This thread is over 2 years old and LaunchBox performance has been improved many times over since it was last updated. From what I can tell here, it sounds like you're referring primarily to startup time. The first time Big Box or LaunchBox starts after adding systems or playlists, it may take longer, but subsequent startups should be shorter. It's caching playlist results during this period in order to ensure that performance is smooth in the GUI.
  12. You can right-click on one of the Arcade Classics entries to edit it. Then go to the Parents tab and unselect the Root node. That should do it.
  13. Hi @rsjz, we have found a few places in the past where that has been issue. Are you able to take screenshots of the incorrectly translated places? That way I can take a look at the code and see if I can fix it. Thanks!
  14. Beta 2 is out now with a fix for something @CriticalCid helped me identify. Apparently, the more games you had in your collection, the slower the scrolling/image cache was in LaunchBox. Beta 2 fixes this.
  15. That's a new one. I'll take a look @ALIE if you can zip up and PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder.
  16. You can enable the default CoverFlow view again by editing the ThemeSettings.xml file in the theme. Just change the DisableCoverFlowGamesView value to false instead of true. You should be able to use a different view to get the discs to stop spinning. There are views for no cart/disc, spinning cart/disc, and static cart/disc.
  17. Honestly, it's probably best not to argue wishy washy stuff; the only thing that will benefit any of us is if we can come up with specific things that can be improved.
  18. Ah, good point. For the moment, no, it's not possible to use a different emulator if the game is in a playlist. So I guess you'd have to duplicate the games for now into a separate platform. This is still on my list, though it doesn't affect all systems, even if the resolution is different between the two monitors. It seems to be driver-specific, which is why it's been difficult to resolve. Thanks for the reminder, though; hopefully I can look at it again soon.
  19. You can certainly create a playlist for it. That would be the best option I think.
  20. I appreciate that brother. I can promise that Big Box will be a greater priority for the coming year, especially since we completed the LaunchBox revamp. Looking forward to that.
  21. I have been following this thread and discussing a bit behind the scenes. I will bump up improving the wall view on my list a bit. However, just because there's a few vocal users who care about the wall view, honestly, it doesn't compare to most of the other outstanding feature requests as far as popularity, at least as I'm hearing it. That said, seeing that both @CriticalCid and @Grila are hoping to work more with it is enough to light a fire under me, so I will certainly bump it up on my list. That said, I will admit that I haven't enjoyed reading this thread. For me, it's just not constructive to read a bunch of passive-aggressive remarks, especially when they're exaggerated and somewhat misplaced. Saying that "it's a little bit disappointing that we are still tackling issues from a feature poll that was made at the beginning of the year" is honestly pretty far off when we're currently the fastest-developed frontend. I just really don't enjoy reading discouraging stuff like that when it's not even relevant or appropriate. All this while claiming that you paid twice the full price, which also isn't true, because $20 for the original purchase plus $10 for the renewal plus $30 for the upgrade is only $60; that's $10 more than the forever license. I really do appreciate your purchases, but the negativity and exaggeration is getting to me. Forgive me for that. @alec100_94 Honestly I'm feeling the same vibes there. I originally responded with the video because I didn't feel like clarifying anything would help much, and I didn't want to cause drama. But claims like "Big Box doesn't feel like a premium product" don't help me to improve it, and as many complaints as we could have about XAML, it's literally the best option out there for what we need, and the flexibility of it is amazing. So guys, I'm sorry for being salty. I'm listening, but honestly this isn't a good way to affect any kind of positive change.
  22. I am currently working with both @CriticalCid and @RetroHumanoid on the themes. Yes, they will need to be updated, though the fix is very easy. We'll clarify here once we're all on the same page.
  23. The newest beta that I just put out is the first step in fixing the issue with the Arcade playlists. Assuming testing goes well on it, we'll push out an official 9.1 fix release, and then update this theme to fix it.
  24. Oh duh. Facepalm. My fault. Thanks @Kondorito.
