  1. Yeah, ETA's Retroarch tutorials should work great. The folder that you use shouldn't matter as long as it's a recent Retroarch install. I don't fully understand the question though.
  2. I suppose it's possible that your controller settings have some kind of auto-fire option enabled...
  3. @omlifecrew Disregard what I said in the other thread as I hadn't seen this one yet. If your controller board is sending multiple keypresses for one button press in Notepad, then it's definitely either a driver issue or an issue with your controller. Maybe some other folks can chime in with some help but honestly I have no experience in that area, unfortunately.
  4. It's clear that we have at least a couple different issues here for different people, and they probably have nothing to do with each other. It is really good to know that Steam can cause that kind of trouble though. @Shadow805 Do please see if you can do what @UltimatePistachio said and blank out Steam's controller settings. I'm fairly certain that that particular situation isn't really a fault of Big Box (though I could be wrong). @omlifecrew It could be a similar situation, even if Steam isn't to blame. It could be that somehow the controller board is sending both keyboard and game controller commands. What happens if you disable game controllers in Big Box?
  5. I'm sorry to hear @talonsito; I have honestly never seen anything like that error message before. Unfortunately I suspect there's either some kind of issue with your Windows installation, or there's some kind of issue with your .NET framework install. Have you tried any other apps? I would also try running chkdsk on your hard drive to make sure your hard drive isn't corrupted.
  6. I think we just figured out what's going on in another thread. Assuming it's the same issue here, it seems to be caused by Steam (Steam is duplicating the inputs somehow). Try closing Steam guys (all the way, you have to completely exit from it) to see if you still have the same issues.
  7. I've had no issues with anything really on my GPD Win 2. The Unified Redux theme for Big Box works really great with it, as do most other themes. Per the controls, I use Retroarch for NES and most other systems without any issues. It pretty much just worked out of the box; I just copied over my setup from my main rig. I think ETA's Retroarch tutorials should do the trick. The GPD Win 2 just acts like an Xbox One controller. Do make sure you're in controller mode though.
  8. Beta 3 is out now with a slight fix for the new property for the Unified themes. Planning to put out the new release on Monday, assuming testing goes well.
  9. You can turn on the DebugLog in the Settings.xml file (just look for the DebugLog line and change it to true). Then logs with show up in the Logs folder. What I would recommend though first off is to install a fresh copy of the latest version and then copy over the Data folder. If it still doesn't start up, then most likely you have corrupted data, unfortunately. From there, you can start removing XML files from the data folder one by one to find the culprit.
  10. Good discovery here. However, I'm not 100% on what's going on. What is Steam doing exactly? Is it converting the keyboard presses from your arcade board to game controller presses? Does it work to disable game controllers in Big Box?
  11. Hi @ckp, I have thought about the possibility of allowing people to auto-generate playlists for all platforms. I expect that will make it in eventually. Per the image groups, it remembers a separate image type for each platform/category/playlist, but I recognize that that's not necessarily intuitive. I'll put that on my list. As of right now, I don't think this is possible. You can't really just copy the playlist, because the playlist needs to be modified for each platform, so copying honestly doesn't really make much sense. I'm with you on the add favorites, rate, and mark as broken while Big Box is locked. I have those on my list already. The apps in the root thing has been on the poll a couple times now (if I recall correctly) and just hasn't gotten much of an audience. It seems like a simple thing, but as it goes against the grain of the organization, there's cause for confusion and won't really be straightforward to implement.
  12. I'm guessing Arcade is a platform, and not a category? LaunchBox won't let you nest platforms inside of platforms, so the way to fix it is to create an Arcade category in the root, and then just move the arcade platform into it. That's how it works by default but maybe you moved it to the root?
  13. Sadly you might not be able to get past it since your work has locked down the machine; that would be my guess.
  14. Also, are you using Rocket Launcher? Does it happen if you launch Big Box without Kodi?
  15. Is this happening with Windows games? If not, what emulator are you using at the time?
  16. @omlifecrew What type of arcade controller do you have? What happens if you open Notepad and try the buttons? Do you get the same weird, duplicate inputs?
  17. It's just a matter of developing the feature. Hasn't been completed yet.
  18. This thread is over 2 years old and LaunchBox performance has been improved many times over since it was last updated. From what I can tell here, it sounds like you're referring primarily to startup time. The first time Big Box or LaunchBox starts after adding systems or playlists, it may take longer, but subsequent startups should be shorter. It's caching playlist results during this period in order to ensure that performance is smooth in the GUI.
  19. You can right-click on one of the Arcade Classics entries to edit it. Then go to the Parents tab and unselect the Root node. That should do it.
  20. Hi @rsjz, we have found a few places in the past where that has been issue. Are you able to take screenshots of the incorrectly translated places? That way I can take a look at the code and see if I can fix it. Thanks!
  21. Beta 2 is out now with a fix for something @CriticalCid helped me identify. Apparently, the more games you had in your collection, the slower the scrolling/image cache was in LaunchBox. Beta 2 fixes this.
  22. That's a new one. I'll take a look @ALIE if you can zip up and PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder.
  23. You can enable the default CoverFlow view again by editing the ThemeSettings.xml file in the theme. Just change the DisableCoverFlowGamesView value to false instead of true. You should be able to use a different view to get the discs to stop spinning. There are views for no cart/disc, spinning cart/disc, and static cart/disc.
  24. Honestly, it's probably best not to argue wishy washy stuff; the only thing that will benefit any of us is if we can come up with specific things that can be improved.
  25. Ah, good point. For the moment, no, it's not possible to use a different emulator if the game is in a playlist. So I guess you'd have to duplicate the games for now into a separate platform. This is still on my list, though it doesn't affect all systems, even if the resolution is different between the two monitors. It seems to be driver-specific, which is why it's been difficult to resolve. Thanks for the reminder, though; hopefully I can look at it again soon.
