Okay, can you PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder? How many playlists do you have?
-
I'd have to look at your data to figure out why things are missing. You can PM it to me if you want. Per the clear logo, you might just need to refresh the image cache for the platform wheel images.

@RULLUR @angelobodetti @Brandito Please confirm what version you guys are running, and whether you're seeing delays in LaunchBox and/or Big Box. The latest beta should fix a lot of those performance issues, so I'm surprised you're still running into them. Keep in mind that you may see performance issues once for each category/playlist, and then they should go away, even after a restart. If you have a lot of playlists or a slower system, populating the initial cache for each item might take a short while.

This is how it's always been, though I see how it could be confusing. If a game's video is using a default video path (the video path matches the title or ROM file name, etc.), then removing it won't get rid of the video unless you delete it.

Can you PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder? I'll investigate. I've never heard of anything like this, and nothing in the betas should really be causing it. Also let me know which games are being affected.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. That looks to be an important thing to solve before the official release. A few questions though, what is that Playstation favorites logo image file called? Is it called "Favorites" or "Playstation Favorites"? Did you add it via the interface or by dropping it into the folder? Is it in the Themes folder or the normal platform image folder?

Default marquee for ROMS that dont have an image?
Jason Carr replied to Super_Paulie's topic in Noobs
Looks like you're on the right path there. ActiveGame.Title should work I believe. -
Thank you guys, good to know. I'll add that to my list. It's not a major priority but hopefully I can get to it soon.

Default marquee for ROMS that dont have an image?

Also, FYI, it may be a bit longer term, but I'm in the process of getting a dynamic marquee setup going myself. So hopefully we'll be fleshing out those marquee features more here soon. -
Default marquee for ROMS that dont have an image?
Jason Carr replied to Super_Paulie's topic in Noobs
Hmm, yes I believe this is just because of the backend code. The code searches for the first image found in the XAML and uses it to display the marquee image. Originally, I think I did it this way because the existing themes didn't have any better way to reference the image to use. I think one thing you could do is just put an image in there first and make it invisible. -
It's currently tied to the same setting, so if you Arrange By Publisher, then the publisher field will show there. That has been requested before though, so it's on my list.

Everything in the plugin API documentation is definitely still accurate, but it does need updated with a few new things. Really the only thing missing now is that you can't directly access the main form (because it no longer exists). Most plugins should also already be fully compatible as long as they're using the advertised/documented features and not diving into undocumented stuff. Looking at the error above, it looks to be unrelated to differences between .Next and the OG interface.

I'd say the only reason it's an issue currently is because you previously used the bulk edit when it didn't automatically update the additional apps. The solution is easy; just batch edit the emulator back to the value that matches the apps, then batch edit it again to whatever you want it to be. There are some reasons why you would want to use separate emulators. Believe it or not there are ROM versions (for arcade/MAME at least) that work better with certain versions of MAME and/or different emulators. There's also the situation where you might have emulators lined up as utilities or something of that nature. We implemented it separately in the additional apps for a reason originally, so it's not a safe assumption that they should all be the same.
-
It looks like this is because the emulator on the game does not match the emulator on the additional apps. This is an important distinction because it allows you to change the emulator for a single app, and those will not be automatically updated with bulk edit.
-
Beta 7 is out now with the following: - Improvement: When bulk editing the associated emulator for games, LaunchBox will now automatically update the emulator for all additional apps that are also set to use the same emulator as the parent game - Improvement: Resolved more platform category and playlist-specific performance issues in Big Box - Fixed: The LaunchBox sidebar count was not updating when the games list is populated and the count is refreshed - Fixed: Game controllers were not navigating the drop-down lists in the Big Box filters popup - Fixed: Big Box was still sometimes creating unnecessary/irrelevant empty video folders for playlists - Fixed: The emulators list when bulk editing games was not sorted alphabetically - Fixed: Additional applications in the LaunchBox game right-click menu were sometimes using the icon from the game's emulator instead of the icon from the additional application's emulator

Good catch. I'll add this to my list. Since dashes are working, I think it should be easy enough just to replace tildes with dashes.

I found some slow downs that I just fixed for the next beta. Stay tuned. Most of that is by design, sans for the fact that GameCube started showing up in the root; I'm not sure why that would happen if you're removing a category underneath GameCube (but maybe I'm understanding that incorrectly). This does raise some important usability concerns though: Thinking that deleting an item will only delete it in one spot is incorrect Thinking that deleting an item will delete its children is incorrect I guess both of those have to do with deletes, so perhaps we just need to make the deletion process more clear, or at least put in warnings (that people will probably never read...

This has been fixed for the next beta.

Hi @alitanet, as best I can tell that error seems to suggest an issue with the Windows installation, or a Windows bug: https://answers.microsoft.com/es-es/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/windows-10-error-del-sistema-de-archivos/16751c2e-b4d1-46a3-b160-7c7cf59cdbf0?page=1 There may be a solution on page 5.

Please remember that this is a beta release. Testing is needed with the new clean up media process, but please make sure you make a backup first, just in case.
-
Beta 6 is out now with the following: New Feature: The "Clean Up Images" process that is available under the Tools menu in LaunchBox is now called "Clean Up Media" and has been overhauled to support cleaning up videos, manuals, and music as well Improvement: When adding a new playlist underneath a platform, a line will now automatically be created to filter to only games for that platform when checking the box to make it an auto-populate playlist

Missing Check Boxes In Media Download Section

I've seen this once before, but sadly I don't think there's anyway for me to fix it because it appears to be a Windows bug where somehow the scaling settings get corrupted or something of that nature. I guess what I would try is this: Change your scaling settings to 100% DPI Reboot Open LaunchBox and check to make sure it's working Change your scaling settings to 150% DPI Reboot Check LaunchBox I'm hoping that changing the scaling settings, rebooting, changing it back, and rebooting would fix it. That's my best guess as to a fix. Otherwise, it could be video card driver related, so it would be worth making sure that all your drivers are up to date. -
Well playlists are one option (just throw all your favorites into a playlist before doing it, then batch edit the games in the playlist to re-favorite them). That said, it shouldn't really be necessary to remove all the games and re-import when a new version of MAME comes out. You can just re-run the importer and it'll import anything new and keep all the current games.
