  1. Thank you all very much! Putting the translations in and planning on releasing today.
  2. Thank you all; I have all the above translations integrated into beta 11, which I just put out. Unfortunately though (stupid me) I forgot to add the release notes for 9.0 before I messaged you all. They're in there now but weren't previously, so it's up to you guys if you want to translate them and upload another package. So sorry for that.
  3. Beta 11 is out now with translation updates and a fix for that PDF issue.
  4. No, that's definitely not related to the black dotted line issue. Unfortunately I don't think that's an issue with LaunchBox at all. It should work already if you create a platform and set the paths for that platform before running the wizard. Let me know if not. This has apparently been broken for a very long time and no one has reported it lol. Looks like it must have gotten messed up when we grouped the additional apps into a popup. It's been fixed for the next beta.
  5. @RetroHumanoid So sorry for the trouble here. The forums server ran out of space but I've fixed the issue. Unfortunately you'll have to re-upload these.
  6. Are they all favorited games? I'm guessing that's why. I actually fixed/changed that in a previous beta, so the next official release should fix it if that's what's going on.
  7. I do need to hunt this down and remove it. It happens on rare occasions when you use keyboard shortcuts (it's Windows' attempt to show keyboard focus).
  8. Lol. I put about as much thought into that sentence as I typically put into the outfit that I choose to wear in the morning. Didn't figure it mattered very much.
  9. Okay. It would be nice to figure out what's causing the delays the first time around on your machine, but at least that's an improvement. It's apparently not data-related as I've tested all I can with your data, so hmm. A video might help if you can record it.
  10. Let me know your PC specs as well.
  11. Hey all, it's that time again! I'm looking to put out the 9.0 release on Monday or Tuesday next week. Translation packages are all updated and ready to go. As always, thank you all so very much. @Opak @dukeemu @cyanjiang @Bardock @MajKSA @gamehacker @Cauptain @Kondorito
  12. Beta 10 is out now. I've fixed a few minor performance issues and focused on Big Box performance. @angelobodetti Testing with your collection, I was seeing some split-second delays while moving through the categories, though nothing significant. This beta does get rid of those little delays for me, so hopefully it will for you as well, though I don't understand why they would have been so long on your machine.
  13. Yeah, I'd improve it if it was worth the effort. We use an install system that is somewhat limiting, as-is the DirectX portion of the install. The DirectX installer is so stupid in that you have to *run* the installer to even determine whether DirectX is fully installed, and that requires admin rights. So rather than re-invent the wheel, I'm leaving it.
  14. Yes, you'll get an error if you refuse the DirectX install. Beta 9 is the latest.
  15. You should be able to do it with all views, but it may be that you might not know how if the view is different. But really it's just a guess. I don't have much to go on so I'm just grasping at straws. Either way, a screenshot will help. It's also theme-specific, so the issue could be with whatever theme you're using.
  16. It's possible that this is because the playlist that you created is set to use a different view in Big Box. Try mapping a button or a key to the "Switch View" option in the Big Box Options, and then switching the view. If you can give us a screenshot, then we'll know where you're at and we can help you further.
  17. Yeah, sorry. Your LaunchBox\Data folder.
  18. We'll most likely be implementing our own pause menu, but your bezel system @eatkinola would be pretty cool to look at. I don't have plans to tackle that one any time soon.
  19. Beta 9 is out now with the following: - Improvement: Scraping is now improved for no-intro ROMs with tildes (~) in the file names - Improvement: Big Box alphanumeric indexes will now work properly with favorites-only lists. If no game is found that is not a favorite, Big Box will jump to the first favorited game that starts with that letter instead. - Improvement: When deleting platforms, categories, or playlists from the sidebar in LaunchBox, warnings have been added to clarify a number of things and reduce confusion - Improvement: The MAME arcade full-set import process now excludes hacks, prototypes, and bootlegs from the region prioritization process; this helps to ensure that hacks, prototypes, and bootlegs do not end up being used as the default ROM for a game. - Fixed: Big Box was not properly saving previous selected games for categories and playlists - Fixed: Big Box attract mode was sometimes starting in the previous state (half-way through a spin) if it had previously been cut off - Fixed: Big Box attract mode was sometimes starting up too quickly after returning from a game - Fixed: On some very rare occasions, the Big Box update popup could previously cause stability issues
  20. Okay, please PM me your data and I'll investigate.
  21. Thank you Claudio, and sorry for the delay. I have the translations in for beta 9.
  22. That's probably a good way to do it honestly, with the colored blocks. I do similar things myself. As long as the font is installed it should work just to reference it by name, yes.
  23. Yup, should be fixed for beta 8.
  24. Beta 8 is out now with the following: - Improvement: Attract mode in Big Box will now always move into or out of views when the number of items highlighted exceeds the total number of items - Improvement: Performance has been significantly improved while populating the Big Box platform clear logo image cache for platforms, categories, or playlists that do not have default images - Fixed: Big Box was caching the nested name incorrectly for platform, playlist, and category wheel images; this was resulting in the wrong images showing up in rare cases - Fixed: Big Box was not properly saving previous selections for deeply nested platforms, categories, and playlists
  25. @Brandito I believe I have that performance issue fixed for the next beta. Believe it or not, it was caused by a combination of the following: The DebugLog setting was on by default for beta releases The Unified themes throw a number of errors for missing files and such, and tend to throw more errors that end up in the debug log than usual The debug log file for the current run was growing larger and larger and eventually started causing performance issues saving the file At least, I think that's what was going on. For the next beta, Debug logging is no longer on by default for beta releases. It can still be enabled manually by modifying the Settings.xml file and changing the DebugLog setting to true instead of false.
