It sounds like whatever icon or EXE you're using for Big Box is the wrong one. Make sure you're pointed to the same folder for both LaunchBox and Big Box.

Ah, gotcha. Yes, that is how it's designed, though I understand how that could be confusing. I'm actually not sure if you can override the Recent and Favorites image type in the XAML currenlty; I don't think you can, actually. Hopefully I can get to the recent and favorites relatively soon.

Performance improvements along the way have introduced an issue here I think. It's on my list to look into.

The recent games section should be responding to whatever key or button is bound to the "Switch Image Type" shortcut key in Big Box. Each platform remembers its own image type, and yes, currently that image type is the same across LaunchBox and Big Box. I'm not fully following what isn't working correctly there. Are you trying to override this in the XAML? I'm not aware of a way to make the images centered, but there is probably a way to do it. I'll admit that the Recent and Favorites sections were never fleshed out very much because they weren't commonly used by themes. I can look into fleshing them out more though, but it might be a bit yet.

LaunchBox should automatically prioritize which image to display if the Region field on the games are set correctly, even if each game shows both images in the list.

Per the license issue, most likely you're somehow working with the wrong folders/wrong copies of LaunchBox. You can try registering the license via Help > License Registration instead. Per the 360 controller, can you post a screenshot of your controller settings in the LaunchBox options?

Since it's a theme-specific issue, I would request that we go through the theme developers in order to troubleshoot it. Otherwise, I would recommend trying some different codec packs and sticking with WMP; you should be able to find codecs that fix the issue.

@RogerioX In all honesty, you received a kind and polite response from @Retro808. You were not "told off" and nothing he said should have been offensive. I really don't understand why there was an issue here at all. Regardless, yes, this is still on my shortlist, and I will get it resolved.

Currently, anything that has children is sorted first in the list. I agree that we should make this optional; I'll add that to my list.

Okay, very good to know. I think it's safe to assume that it's being caused by the update popup somehow. I'll look into that. Thanks for all that testing @Bedwyr. The game details sidebar has never shown *all* types of media, though I agree that it probably should, or at least we should provide the option. I believe that currently it just shows screenshots and fanart.

I will look to update VLC here soon.

@throwingmuse Please test some different themes to see if the issue is theme-specific. It is a known issue that WMP will not always play all videos (due to missing codecs, etc. which are really out of our control), but I am not aware of any issues with videos not showing up in VLC.

@Chris Kant It's really just a matter of creating the right structure to achieve what you're looking for there. I do plan to add some automation options to make this easier here soon. @Typhon Okay, good to know. We'll see if it's requested elsewhere and I can add it in if it's a popular request.

That's a good idea. They could certainly be uploaded to the forums download section. Does it work if you go to Tools > Create Missing MAME/Arcade playlists?

You can nest things however you want, but there's absolutely no reason to nest platforms. You can use Platform Categories (and/or playlists depending on your goals) to achieve the exact same results. The reason we added the warning is exactly because people tend be confused with this. The interface does restrict you from nesting a platform inside of a platform. Ah, I didn't intend for those playlists to be restricted, but I'm still finding places where I need to remove the restriction. I'll do that for the next release.

Apparently this is being caused by "Uninstalled" used as the Sort Title for at least a good chunk of the games. The way the sorting works is that it sorts by sort title if it's specified, and so they're being sorted randomly because they're all being sorted by the same value. I'd suggest using a different field to track whether they're installed or not and removing it from the Sort Title field.

I'm releasing this official release this morning, and then there won't be any betas out for at least a couple of days, so that should work well. Another option would be to simply just temporarily disable the updates, or just temporarily turn off your Internet connection. But it shouldn't be an issue anyways.
