Ah yeah, I forgot about that bug, @Zombeaver. LaunchBox doesn't care and I hardcoded the extension that it writes out without thinking about it a long time ago. I'll put a fix for this on my shortlist. But yeah, sadly, people's existing files won't automatically get fixed when I do.

Thank you Fisty! I promise it won't be so long between updates to the games database going forward. We've made some incredible progress to the apps in the past few months so I feel like we can afford to spend some more time on the database here sooner rather than later.

Thank you guys, the official LaunchBox 6.4 release is out!!! That's a good idea, @Jazzphone; it makes sense that we should keep that option available at least. :)

I didn't realize it but I did forget to add the background videos to the text list view for platforms. I am going to push the fix for this off past 6.4 though, but again, I'll put it on my shortlist. Jazzphone said Weird issue when updating images and metadata. If I select all the games in one platform, for example "MAME" and then go to Tools, Download Metadata and Images and chose to have it overwrite all the Metadata and Images to re scrape that platform it will create the Original LaunchBox platform of "Arcade" which is to be expected since it is overwriting the Metadata. However, if I select all in the newly created platform "Arcade" and then to a Bulk edit to switch the platform of those games back to "MAME", none of the newly downloaded Media movies with it. So I have to move all the media in the folders manually, which can be time consuming. Is this normal behavior? Thank you @Jazzphone, it's good to see that whole scenario. I never thought about overwriting metadata actually changing the platforms for the games; I guess it's arguable either way whether or not that should happen when you overwrite metadata. Per the media not moving, that is a known issue that I have on my list to fix. Unfortunately it won't be an easy fix so I won't get a fix for that in before 6.4, but hopefully I can tackle it soon after.

Hehehehe, that's true, I can. ;) I have the final package of PSDs everyone! Do you have background videos turned on, Martin? The videos should only show up in that view if background videos are enabled. The video stretching is unfortunately just the only thing we can do to show the videos fullscreen in the background, of course. And yeah, haven't added it to CoverFlow because I think it makes sense to keep that view clean.

That is awesome, Martin. You have excellent musical tastes. ;) Per testing, pretty much everything is worth testing, but Big Box is probably the best thing to focus on. Specifically between the two video engines and background videos vs. non-background videos, as well as making sure that the controller back button is working properly. Thanks again, Martin. :)

Hi all, just put out beta 8, hoping this will be the last beta before the official release and we can put out the official later today. @Opaklopper I did fix an error that some people were seeing when loading up Add/Edit (or at least I hope I did). ;)

Just put out another new beta. Been going through Bitbucket and fixing as many bugs as I can. I fixed the Scrape As default platform bug as well as a bunch of other random more obscure ones. I'm hoping this can be the final release candidate and we can put out the official release later this afternoon. Primarily, though, I need to receive confirmation from @emko that the issue with the controller Back button is fixed. Thanks guys, any testing anyone can do in the next few hours would be much appreciated. :)

Thank you Martin. I've seen that popup issue before, stupid Windows. It's kind of a problem with the Windows interface in general. There are fixes for it, but I keep delaying the official 6.4 release, so I won't get that fixed before the official release as I want to (finally) get it out. Same goes for deleting platforms; that's planned but isn't the highest of priorities right now.

emko said beta 6, back button on controller does not work for most menus anymore only place it still works is in the games details menu when you press back it goes back to the systems games list but you can't back out of the games list or if your on the systems menu you can't back out to the options menus etc Hi @emko, I just put out beta 7 which I'm hoping will fix this for you. I couldn't replicate it so I'm not 100% sure what might be going on. I'm hoping to put out the official release later today if possible, so if you can test this to see if it fixes it I'd appreciate it. :)

It plays BUT, the vid in the games wheel view keeps it's position (meaning if you go to detail screen and then come back, it'll start where it left off instead of starting over). While the details view vid always starts over. And also, when going into details, it still fades to a grey background (no image) before going to details. But when you come from details, there's always a background image present. The video keeping its position is by design. Let's see how everyone else feels about it and we can change it if people don't like it this way. The fading to black thing when opening up details is because a new model is being generated, whereas going back is just using the existing model that is already open. This is probably fixable but will take some work and unfortunately I can't make it a priority for this release.

Importing without using name data works but no metadata is imported. Ah, thanks for noting that @knewlife. It sounds like it's just skipping any games that don't exist in the current metadata. I won't be able to fix this for 6.4; can you put in a ticket for it to improve the metadata and/or import them anyway even if they don't have metadata?

Sadly I won't get it into the 6.4 release, but hopefully we can tackle it shortly after.

I think that even the 150% scale scanline versions of the logos I made are just a touch small to achieve the effect I'm going for, but 250% looks pretty decent with the new resolution; and as an added benefit the normal versions look better too! Thanks again! Great to hear! Those wheels should look pretty boss. @Zombeaver's putting together some killer wheel images, guys.

Alright all, new beta is out. Made some excellent unexpected progress today with the VLC videos, thanks to @veltaius in the live stream. He pointed out that there were some important new fixes available for the Meta.Vlc library, which is working wonders for us. VLC videos now support transitions and everything. The issues with the VLC videos not playing when going back should be fixed now as well. Any testing you guys can do with the VLC and/or the WMP video engines would be appreciated. I think WMP videos should be fine but it is possible that they were affected so that would be good to test as well. Also, this morning I implemented the shiny new logos that are now available for downloading from EmuMovies. Yay @circo! :) The error that showed up on imports for non-premium EmuMovies members is also fixed, per the live stream. Thanks all; I'm hoping this is a good release candidate, ultimately.

Hi Angelo, there is at least one custom theme somewhere that does this, but it will require a custom theme/view. I think all you'll need to do though is adjust the CurveAmount property of the coverFlow:FlowControl tag. You can adjust them in the various Platform Wheel and Wheel Games xaml files.

Thanks all, new beta is out with fixes for the German translation. I also increased the size of the wheel thumbnail images as well. That's about it for this beta though. I'll be wrapping up everything I can here for the next couple days to prep (once again, hopefully for real this time) for the official 6.4 release. :)
