  1. Hi Tonbox, what did you want to change it to? We prefer proper names but do allow changing it to other names for things like YouTube channels and such.
  2. Thanks all. When I implement image and sound packs they will *optionally* be attachable to themes. So you'll be able to use the theme's defaults or specify your own theme packs.
  3. That makes sense. http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/ If you go straight to that link, Add New Game is available under the search box. :)
  4. Hehehehe, pretty awesome. Shall we take a collection? :P
  5. Unfortunately I don't think there is @Zombeaver. I think we'll need to add an option Big Box to "force using platform backgrounds for games".
  6. Something strange happened with that link lol. I'm seeing deja vu.
  7. Unfortunately we still have some cleanup to do, and I'm not sure we've decided exactly how to handle NES vs. Famicom. For now I would say to put Japanese-only releases under Famicom and NES should have everything else.
  8. Thanks, great to hear @ALIE. Glad it's working. I am indeed planning on adding platform image sets to the themes; however, that's not there quite yet. :)
  9. Hi @shanafan, I recently fixed this in the latest beta releases, so that is your best bet. Just check the box to update to beta releases in LaunchBox under Tools > Options > General > Updates.
  10. Gotcha, thanks @Sithel. That is good to know. I'll add it to my list to look into. For future reference, the cached image files are all stored under LaunchBox\Images\Cache. :)
  11. Thanks @billyc999. I still have a ways to go before integrating a complete, proper set solution like this, but it is still planned. When we get there, I'll hit up your XMLs. Thanks again. :)
  12. Thanks guys. @frasto90, that is still a good idea for long-term, in some situations at least. Would you be willing to add a ticket for that via the Feature Request link in the header? :)
  13. Hi @dorr35, are you using the betas? Can you try the latest beta that I just put out?
  14. Hi @8Phantasm, you can submit changes here: http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com Creating an account is easy and you'll be able to submit changes for moderation right away. :)
  15. Ah, yeah. Silly Microsoft and their privacy invasion garbage. :/ Big Box unfortunately won't truly prevent access to the rest of the computer. It might be able to trick a young kid, though. You can protect it with a pin and disallow exiting. But of course there are keyboard shortcuts that can still get around it; I don't do anything to force keep you in Big Box. The best solution is to put everything in Dropbox, including the entire app, your ROMs, and your emulators. It's easiest if you just put everything inside your LaunchBox folder (Emulators in an emulators subfolder, games in a Games subfolder, etc.). I personally know Dropbox works completely seamlessly that way. Google Drive and OneDrive should as well, in theory. However, the last time I used Google Drive (more than a year ago and I never tried to put LaunchBox in it), it was an atrocious experience, because it crashed constantly. So just FYI on that. Let me know if you end up using OneDrive or Google Drive and how well it's working for those.
  16. Ha, that's interesting. You're pushing that poor card to insanity. Hehehehe.
  17. Lol! Two words can't be that expensive; I'll call him up. ;)
  18. Thank you guys; I believe I have the Rocket Launcher thing fixed. It was my stupid; I was sending over the LaunchBox folder path instead of the EXE path. Just put out a new beta that should fix it with the default Rocket Launcher emulator settings now; give it a shot and let me know. Also, this afternoon I focused on improving the custom themes/views engine as well as allowing you to visually edit the themes in Visual Studio. Themes now have a new Styles folder with even more customization options regarding global styling. And also, there are Visual Studio project files provided so that the themes can be easily edited in Visual Studio (which provides a visual editor). I will be putting out a tutorial on this new stuff early next week. :)
  19. Hehehe, thanks guys. @Jazzphone I'm still pretty clueless when it comes to Rocket Launcher so I'm not exactly sure what's happening. Should -f refer to the LaunchBox/Big Box EXE files or the LaunchBox.xml file? I was under the impression from Austin that it should be the EXE but I could be wrong.
  20. Quick update guys!!! Keith at Monster Arcades sent me a few pics of the cabinet build in progress! Take a looksee: What do you think @Rincewind? Staying true to your designs? :D
  21. ALIE said Normaly i used the Consol banners those that look like old pictures. But after the update the images from the folder console images is used not the ones from the banner folder. Edit-search works now Remember that you can customize the image priorities of everything in the LaunchBox options now. You should be able to customize this all you like. This also applies to clear logos in the backgrounds. They are easy to turn off using the image priorities settings in LaunchBox. Edit: I think I need to remove the "clear logos as backgrounds" option in Big Box; I don't think it's used for anything anymore. I'll take a look at that.
  22. Thanks guys, just put out a new beta with the following fixes/changes: - Improvement: Added a default Rocket Launcher emulator with automatic configuration - Improvement: Added keyboard and controller button mappings for Search to Big Box - Fixed: Incorrect screenshots were displaying in the games lists when background videos were enabled - Fixed: The search icon in the Big Box text list's alphabetic index was getting cut off The Rocket Launcher thing should hopefully make that experience a lot easier. I'm working with Simply Austin as he comes up with a tutorial video for Rocket Launcher integration and this should help make the entire experience a lot easier (assuming I got it right for this beta).
  23. Thanks all, just put out 6.6 to fix the Search via controller bugs as well as a couple others. @ALIE, I'm not fully following your second paragraph there about the console images. Can you reiterate? Per mapping a key/controller button for the search, that is certainly something we can add, but I haven't added it yet. Keep in mind though that you can get to the search from the games views already by pulling up the alphabetical index. There is a new search icon in the index that will pull up the search. When searching in the games list for a particular platform, for example, it will only show the search results for that platform. Thanks guys; let me know if you see any further issues.
  24. Awesome, makes sense. We'll call it generic Dutch but .NET needs a country defined on it, apparently.
