  1. No worries! Glad it's sorted. :)
  2. Thank you @AFaustini. I have this integrated so it'll be out with the next beta. :)
  3. Hmm. Just to note, the Controller Automation configuration is different in both LaunchBox and Big Box, so you have to configure them separately. So for starters, you can compare the configuration between LaunchBox and Big Box to see if anything is different. Also check to see if Use All Controllers is checked for either of them. If LaunchBox or Big Box isn't configured to use the particular controller you're trying to use, it won't work for controller automation. Let me know if any of that helps. Thanks @niglurion.
  4. Weird. Beta 5 introduced the controller automation replacement of the old controller AutoHotkey. What happens if you turn off controller automation in the settings?
  5. In all honesty, LaunchBox kind of sucks; you should probably stick with Hyperspin. Just kidding lol. I'm the developer. :) The biggest reason why most people give it a shot at first is just because you don't have to tinker with stuff so much. For the most part, it just works. Then people stick around because of the community, the new features coming out all the time, the ease of managing your games, etc. Just my guesses/observations as to why most people choose LaunchBox. Some people prefer it visually too if they prefer a cleaner and less flashy/less in-your-face look over Hyperspin.
  6. Thanks, Brad. Yes, let's everyone move conversations over to new forum posts on the new forums (this is getting a bit unwieldy).
  7. I've had the same thought, Scott. I think ideally we'll want to support multiple release dates (one for each region). It'll probably be a while before we get there, though.
  8. The ability to switch between 3D and regular box art, etc. is unfortunately lacking right now, since LaunchBox doesn't yet recognize all the different types of images as different. With 6.0 I plan to fix this.
  9. Agreed, this is definitely coming eventually. I need to implement adding games as the top priority for the database, and then we can swing back around to some of these improvements.
  10. Gotcha. Yes, then it's probably best to wait until 6.0. The good news is that when 6.0 comes out you'll be able to contribute your entire collection of BBC Micro games automatically to the database. :)
  11. Rest assured though that I do plan to allow you to change platforms. Originally I thought it wasn't going to be necessary, but with the confusion of MS-DOS vs. Windows, for example, I think sometimes it will be. So I will be adding that at some point here.
  12. No worries! Long term we will be providing a process to sync everything up automatically with the LaunchBox Games Database, and contribute all your personal collection's information. So with LaunchBox 6.0 you'll be able to automate this whole process. In the mean time though what you can do is select all your games with Ctrl+A and then go to Tools > Download Metadata and Images. Just be sure to check the box to search for metadata from the LaunchBox Games Database. Shouldn't need to download any images if you don't want to. Then after that you can run the sync and it should sync all the games that are on the LaunchBox Games Database. :)
  13. Ah, got it figured out. I was showing the Moderation link on the Changes Status page even if you weren't a moderator. Should be fixed now. I went ahead and granted you moderator status as well, @Cebion. Thanks!
  14. Hi @retrtokid, the sync currently only syncs games that have LaunchBox Games Database IDs (which are the same as the IDs from TheGamesDB.net that were used previously). Do any of your games have those database IDs?
  15. I'm noticing that someone is submitting European box art images (with PEGI ratings) as replacements for North American box art images (with ESRB ratings). Just to clarify, we shouldn't be replacing North American box art with European box art. Instead, we should be adding additional images and keeping both of them. Image replacements should only be used if you're upgrading the quality of an existing image.
  16. Thanks, Scott. Just put out beta 5 which should fix both issues (volume and LaunchBox closing).
  17. Alright, new beta is out. I'm once again hopeful that the VLC-related Big Box freezes are fixed, but again, time will tell. So far so good. This also should hopefully fix the issues with LaunchBox closing. If you guys can test that and let me know, I'd appreciate it. The French translation is also updated again thanks to @Wattoo.
  18. FYI, I'll be making that non-default for 5.10.
  19. Lol, I need to wake up. Just deleted my last post because it was completely irrelevant. Sorry for that. Planning to put out a new beta later today. Hoping once again that I've got the VLC lockups fixed.
  20. Yes, agreed. I think there might be a ticket for that already on Bitbucket.
  21. Ah, good catch! Thank you Angelo. Retroarch is complicated because it makes sense to extract archives for most platforms, but obviously not for MAME. I'll change the default on that so it's not checked by default for Retroarch going forward. Thanks!
  22. Thank you @Cebion! I believe I have this fixed. Sorry for that, I apparently botched the last deploy.
  23. Alright guys, some big new additions. I just put up a "Changes Status" page that will show you all of your changes that have been approved, rejected, or are still pending. There's also a rough new My Account home page that will show you how many changes you've made, how many have been approved, how many moderations you've made, etc. I plan to flesh this out much more in the future but this should work well until after we get the rest of the contribution features implemented. The other thing I went ahead and implemented is automatic promotion to moderator status. Once your Total Approved Changes becomes 25 greater than your Total Rejected Changes, you're automatically promoted. This means that you have to submit at least 25 quality changes before you prove yourself as a legitimate moderator, and every rejected change counts against that 25. Thank you everyone, let's get contributing and moderating! :)
  24. Hi @hubz, I've been seeing your changes come through and wanted to thank you for all the quality contributions. I am in agreement that PNG screenshots are much preferred over JPEGs. The only thing I would say, just based on how the moderation system works, is that if you're going to delete an image and replace it with a better one, use the Replace Image functionality when editing the image instead of deleting it and adding a new one. Reason is it helps to make the moderation process much more clear. We probably need to better clarify that when you make the changes. I do like back of box descriptions on the games, yes. Additional details can certainly be appended to the end. I don't necessary want to say we want only back of box descriptions, or even primarily back of box descriptions, but I do like them where we have them. :)
