  1. I remember conversations early on when Jason and I would talk about LaunchBox and one of the things we (or just him at the time) was worried about was making sure that even if all you wanted was the free version, you wouldn't feel pressured in to paying for Premium. When we make new features for LaunchBox, we pretty much as our selves if the new feature is a required feature. Is this something that needs to be there for basic functionality. Like if we charged for image scraping or something that would be agregious.
  2. Riffman81 said Jason Carr said Awesome, thank you @Riffman81. Didn't know you were part of the team. :) Yeah, I'm one of the moderators... Thought I mentioned it before but maybe I didn't ;) Circo, has been updating the site for the past few months off and on when he has time, I think he's just doing routine maintenance tonight and sorting through new submissions, etc. Btw Jason, Launchbox has become my main FE and I wanted to personally thank you for all the work and effort you put into this amazing software! I have totally left HS in the dust. I may not post much but I visit the forums often and try my best to stay in the loop. The new views are looking fantastic and I really appreciate your dedication to the community. Haven't had a chance to test the latest beta yet, it's on my to-do list. Thank you Riff, granted I know im not Jason (he's much more sexier than I), but I also do appreciate the kind words as well! I would be lying if I said you leaving HS for us doesn't stroke our ego a bit. In fact we've been seeing that sentiment a lot lately, but I can personally say that Jason devotes his life to this and he strives to make this as amazing as he possibly can. I'm just here to keep him on track (our users do this too of course), and to try and take care of everything else as much as I possibly can so he can keep going on. Working with Jason is easily one of the best expierences of my life and it would be fair to call him family now. Sorry if I got sappy today, this is like my 3rd or 4th sappy post... I just want everyone to know how thankful we are for everyone in our community. Personally gives me a place where I feel like I belong.
  3. Riffman81 said We're taking care of some site and FTP maintenance over at EmuMovies guys. Should be back online shortly:) Either you've never mentioned it or I completely forgot, but I had no clue you worked over at EM! :P Either way, thank you for the update. I probably could have just checked the front page and found out. xD
  4. wallmachine said curious what happened the the 400+ issues/requests on the repo? Jason just got rid of quite a few today. Some may be lingering and have already been fixed, are duplicated or what have you so we'll need to keep going through and pick them off. Jason and I agree that those bugs should get lowered ASAP.
  5. wallmachine said Emumovies login doesn't work since last beta update. It was confirmed earlier that EmuMovies API and FTP was down, so it still might be that.
  6. djweevil We understand that completely to be honest. Some people simply don't have an easy means to purchase online or they have been burned one too many times with promises and false hope. We understand any users trepidation before wanting to spend $20-$50 on something. That's why we've tried hard to prove our worth and show that we love this project and we're not here to "cash in", and trust me that's something people have told us before. "How dare you charge for this, it should be free!" In the end, we are glad you did decide to purchase LaunchBox and we are glad you are with us now.
  7. Ah, that's strange then. I am glad you got it fixed up though!
  8. Scrolling text in various places has been requested, so Jason should tackle this as soon as he's able.
  9. You can also completely disable UAC on your system if you need to. If you did and I misunderstood I apoligize.
  10. I updated the first post in this Beta thread to point towards the tutorial on how to update to Beta so that way if anyone stumbles across this they know they can get access right away! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVAJHnMvWUw
  11. CriticalCid said Anybody here who could make a nice Banner and Clear Logo for Windows 3.1? I recently imported the Win3xO collection and have no platform images for that one. How are you playing those? PCem or DOSBox? I can give it a try if you'd like, got some starting art?
  12. Derek's Ticket Emporium! We appreciate the love and dedication Derek, I don't know if I've ever told you that.
  13. I would try uncompressing one of them and see if it loads, or check the box to decompress games on the edit emulator page. RetroArch is hit and miss. If it's black screening though I have a feeling your associated platforms default command line paramter might be off. If you want a visual walkthrough we have tutorials on our YouTube channel that I created, and we have one for the Atari line of consoles. The video is below, and if you want to see all of our channel the link to the LaunchBox channel is in all of my signatures on the forums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6llLynRyGM&list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB
  14. We don't deal with anything special TOSEC may do, but you just put the games you want in the folder you want and import them like any other rom pack of roms you may download from the internet. Nothing at all changes except for that there may be a lot more than games with a TOSEC pack, and you may want to delete the excess. As long as the games you want are in a folder, where ever you want on your system and you import that in to LaunchBox just like anything else you're fine.
  15. Personally, I use a PS4 controller with InputMapper and it works great. After the update from Microsoft that screwed up Xbox One controller drivers (they're slightly different then Xbox 360 apparently), we updated and Kodi will be updating to fix them. The PS4 controller with the software emulates a 360 controller, but the controller it's self is obviously better and is not completely at the whim of Microsoft.
  16. Yea their API and downloads are down. I found this out during a Tutorial recording about an hour ago. :P
  17. Yes, thank you and welcome. :P
  18. Ah I see now, sorry! Well... we have discussed internally about an API but we don't have anything to say on that subject as of yet.
  19. So we pulled the data once because it was going down constantly and having issues. Since we've allowed users to start uploading their own data, we have not since gotten anymore information from them. In fact we've started pulling away even more, creating custom categories, merging and splitting systems, changing up system images and descriptions etc. One of the goals is to also allow users to upload their data to the Database from within LaunchBox as well, making the process a lot more easier than using the web portal. In terms of other media, we one day would love to include MovieDB, TVDB, AniDB, IMDB and all of those scrapers that Kodi can use so that users don't have to manually insert their data and we would make it easier to import that data as well. This is a goal that we have for the future though, we don't have immediate plans to do this unless something changes. Also, feel free to ask as many questions as you would like. We don't mind answering them at all.
  20. I'll double check my wheel when my LaunchBox finishes it's importing. If all of your JPG's are the samall ones, then we may be looking at a culprit. Our display method may not like JPG's.
  21. If these were the ones downloaded by LaunchBox then I think we need to go through and replace a few them. We suspect that the images them selves are not formated similarly to the others and thus display funkily.
  22. angelobodetti Would you be able to upload that Neo Geo image and the one above it (I can't read it) so that we can test this?
  23. Thank you for clarifying that a bit for me. So if you are going to manually select the screenshot as a front box art, once you've made your changes, you'll either need to choose the Image Refresh option in tools or restart LaunchBox for it to take effect if they're not changing over automatically. Jason and I have also come up with a Tiered Image system that will also solve this problem hopefully. So If / when he does implement it, you won't need to manually change over the art so that there are no holes, you'd specify a list of prefered images and LaunchBox does the rest. Unfortuetnly, especially for the less popular games, there may not be art for it readily available. EmuMovies makes updates to their Image packs all the time too.
  24. Yes, good points, but it's also worth remembering that PNG can have better compression with better quality. So if there is no real choice in the matter, converting it until a raw or a proper PNG is found may be the only choice and you can save on some HDD space. For users with bandwidth caps I can also see that being a good fit even though the conversion really only saves a small amount of data.
