  1. So ScummVM should work like DOS when it comes to platforms, however ScummVM has been in need of an upgrade for a very long time. We currently have it on the list to get a revamp like DOS and MAME recently did. We have to go through special platforms like these 1 at a time usually because they require special rules. When all is said and done, ScummVM should function similarly to DOS. It will just take us a bit to get there, but it is indeed being thought of.
  2. Well... of course Jason has the simple plan. My mind went to a more hard place, as in stop the application from launching again by monitoring application name or PID's lol.... count on the software engineer to make me look stupid.
  3. It would be very difficult to have LaunchBox or BigBox suppress other software period, let alone without potentially being called a virus but AV Software. At least this is a guess of mine.
  4. So I've been trying to work on this since my last post, and I think the reason why it isn't working is because the latest Desmume launches a console first then the emulator. I've been trying to work on a script that delays the key presses, but I'm having no luck. I can't spend any more time on this right now, so I am letting you guys know what I've found so far.
  5. I've worked with Macros before, and that is essentially all this is just done automatically. If "Send {Alt}{Enter}" doesn't work then try "Send {RAlt Down}{Enter}". The website states that you need to also close out {RAlt Down} with {RAlt Up}, so you may need to include that. I don't have AHK set up to test.
  6. Ah, I missed that on the site. ! might represent a general Alt, does {RAlt} change the result?
  7. Oh no, I don't use AHK, I just know that it should work. Looking at the AHK website though you're missing a button press. Try: Send {Alt}{Enter}
  8. So the same thing we can already do but without the pre-generated script? We should probably do that, but this is the solution I stated to do, use AHK and LB.
  9. Now I'm depressed... I just watched it. I also did a story on Warren too...... sob.
  10. I will say this, we don't have a Kinsey (I spelt her name wrong)
  11. I already saw, I watch him too. It's totally fine that he's got a show similar in name and style, yea. xD Really though it is fine, it's not like he stole that from us. I was also probably not the first person to come up with this show type. This is the internet and YouTube. He's got way more subscribers then the LaunchBox Channel and my channel combined... so I am a bit jealous of that.
  12. No problem, I'm glad the video's are helpful!
  13. I looked in the Options menu... I don't know what the hell I am thinking sometimes. X_X
  14. Huh... mine is autoplaying. I checked through a bunch of the settings to see if I could find an auto-play check box and I didn't find anything. So the video works in LaunchBox, but only after you right click -> play it?
  15. So if you need help with a specific system, we have tutorials on our YouTube channel which you can get to by clicking the link in my signature. When you import games (Tools -> Rom Import) select "Add Files". Navigate to your PS1 games folder. In that root folder at the top right where it says Windows Search type "*.cue" with the quotations. It will search for anything in that folder and any subfolders that ends with .cue. This isn't a workaround, it's left open like this so that it can be as powerful as users need it.
  16. We have had known issues with Kaspersky in the past. Does it work now?
  17. No it is best for permissions reasons to not have LaunchBox installed in your Program Files. Preferably a second hard drive, but it's not required. A potential problem is either your firewall or antivirus is blocking LaunchBox from being able to make outbound connections.

    Mame Roms

I would say to keep all roms where they are at during the import process but especially MAME Rom's. Everything need's to stay together as Derek said.
  19. Audio and video is using basic Windows functions to be able to ensure most users can run it. To help make sure everything is good though download the K-Lite Codec Pack from http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm If it gives you any pop-ups saying it wants to fix something, click Yes. Run this, you might need to restart your PC or LB and see if that fixes it. CriticalCid also created a tutorial on how to update MAME roms: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/emulation/best-practice-for-keeping-mame-roms-up-to-date/page-2#p11536 Give that a read and grab the software. I just did it this morning after getting 400GB of MAME Rom's. I know a lot about Emulation and LaunchBox, it's my job, but I can't dedicate my time every day to something so it is really awesome when someone like Cid, who already did all this, shares with us.
  20. The simplest thing I can tell you is to edit the Series Field how you want it. We're currently not set up for most games to draw a series name. Some do, most don't. You can do them 1 by 1 or use the bulk edit wizard. Ctrl + A will highlight all games in a selected view or Ctrl + Clicking will highlight the ones you want and click on. Once they're highlighted, right click one and choose Edit. From the drop down menu choose Series.
  21. Yes, that should work too.
  22. If you did your download yesterday that is certainly possible.
  23. And LaunchBox recognizes the images based on the rom name? If that's the case that will save tons of time and is really handy to know.
  24. CriticalCid said Unfortunately there isn’t Artwork avaible for every MAME game. But the most complete set in case of MAME artwork should be probably the Progetto packages. You can find them here: http://www.progettosnaps.net/flyers/ Since MAME requires mandatory filenames you only have to move the flyers from Progetto into your folder for the MAME front covers. Then open Launchbox -> Tools -> Refresh All Images and you should have most of the MAME covers. Are they named after the rom's or game names?
  25. If that's the case, you could gave potentially hit the EmuMovies 1GB a day transfer limit. Either go there and make posts with your account (20+ gets you more per day, and 50+ gets you that much more), or donate to lift it as well. An alternative is to wait a day or wait a few hours to see if it was a bug too. To re-scan a library of games, have the system you want to re-scan selected on the left. Ctrl + A to highlight all of the games. Then go to Tools -> Download Images and Metadata. This will re-run the scraping wizard for you. Just make sure to select to only download metadata for games that are missing metadata. This way it will only download what you need and not everything all over again.
