Oh, I see what you meant. Sorry, It is hard to understand you. We can certainly add in the Amiga CD relevant images for Big Box in a future update. I thought you meant for games not the system, I'm sorry.
-
With our current metadata locations there will not be images for each game or category, especially something as niche as Amiga CD. We are currently working to expand that in the future, but in the mean time you'll either need to manually add images or wait.

People with Kodi do do the same thing you're asking for. Besides adding more programs there isn't many ways to do this. Microsoft doesn't necessarily want to make this easy on users on purpose. Editing the registry is a common way to make Windows do things that you want it to do and some programs probably do this automatically for you, this is just a manual way to do it and it is reversible.

There is a method that has been talked about on these forums before, so search up a little bit here. Essentially you launch Windows without Explorer and instead BigBox automatically launches. Explorer never starts and BigBox launches like normal. If you need explorer for some reason you can Ctrl + Shift + Esc task manager, then File -> Run -> explorer.exe if needed. I am unsure if this still applies but this might set you on the right path: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/WindowsTips/Windows7/AdminTips/Admin/ReplacingtheExplorerShellinWindows7.html

There is a thread on the forums for the Amiga CD. https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/dosbox/amiga-cd-32-1#p10510 Search the forums please, I am gonna delete your other thread.

Ah, I see now. Well thankfully you can add Arcade games natively now so this is not needed anymore. You said it worked, so are the games in LaunchBox and launching?

Where did that script even come from? I don't think anyone here has posted a script for launching games. I know we have scripts for auto mounting discs and AHK, but...

LaunchBox with Linux and Wine: almost works
SentaiBrad replied to francis's topic in Collections and Builds
I don't even remember at this point but it really doesn't matter I guess since Its still broken. We want to officially support Linux and Mac in the future but right now we're just trying to focus on Windows. The issue was .Net Framework is, or was, broken in wine. There is a new version coming that is supposed to be more usable in Wine. Once that is available we might try again, but even then it might still be broken. -
We gotta stop answering at the same time Derek. xD
-
I am confused, what is this script even for? You don't need this at all if you just import your games and set your emulator.
-
You can try 41000 but this is more or less the quality of the sound. The reason why the SNES number is lower is because it is a lot older technology and there are limits. You can raise that number for SNES, but it would sound different. Just know the lower you tell that number to be the lower the quality of the sound will be, but 41k and 48k are still a bit similar.

LaunchBox with Linux and Wine: almost works
SentaiBrad replied to francis's topic in Collections and Builds
I am very surprised you got that far. I tested it for about 2 or 3 hours and got no where, Wine did not want to cooperate. -
Do you have custom configs loaded at all? Otherwise it should be the normal RetroArch.cfg file that is referenced. It should tell you what cfg is loaded on the first tab in RA. Otherwise make sure that winxinput is selected for your controller driver, and under "Input User 1 Binds" that the User 1 Device Index has the proper device selected.

Actually, it should be xaudio which I believe is the default. If that is causing crackling then change that too.

rich2k4 said If I do end up getting them working. Is it just a matter of making sure the video file name matches the rom file name? Yea pretty much. Super Mario Bros. (USA) works just ask much as Super Mario Bros..

Yea LaunchBox and BigBox don't inherently support specific types of media files, rather it uses what your computer can already play. A decent rule of thumb is, if it plays in Windows Media Player then LB/BB will probably play it just fine. Personally, the K-Lite Media Codec Pack made WMP (when I used to it) play everything I threw at it, and people used to say MKV wouldn't work on it. It did though. So it should be dependent on what you have installed. http://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm If it doesn't play after that then there isn't going to be too much we can do, especially because that is a very niche container, and you're the first person to ask about it.

Check your audio settings, because I don't get crackling audio. I did in LaunchBox when the controller option was ticked, but everything crackled not just RetroArch. Turning it off saved my ears. In RA go to the second column, then go down to audio and match it to mine. Like I said I don't get crackling audio, so maybe your settings are off? If you set an Audio DPS Plugin too turn that off. https://i.imgur.com/YkukBFP.png

It looks like a memory leak bug, or just a memory bug with the controller? I actually have no clue... but I remember your systems have plenty of ram, did you kill the cache? What happens if you disable the controller support? Jason has been out today, he might be back later tonight but more than likely tomorrow and he should be able to pinpoint more accurately.

Click an entry then try Ctrl + A?

You don't even need to do that though, when importing games you don't need to move anything. Say you have gba roms and other files you don't want imported. Add files, and in the top right for Windows search use "*.gba". This will search for anything with a gba file extension. Then you can Ctrl + A and add files. This is something I've covered before in our Tutorials. Even though right now they're just covering different systems, I cover techniques in LaunchBox that can apply to anything.

Options -> Updates. "Check for updates on startup" and "Update to Beta Releases".
-
Ok, in my first post I said update to the beta and you can do that by going in to the options and checking a box, this will scan for the beta update and download it for you and install it. Please do this, this should fix your problem.
-
Yes update to the beta.
-
I don't see a video, but you also didn't explain anything so I am sorry if what I tell you is off. Try updating to the latest beta which is in the options. Otherwise I gotta know some more before I can help you further.

So LaunchBox does nothing with save files, only roms. Those save files should be in a very specific folder for RetroArch, which you can alter in the Settings -> Path sub-menu in RA. If your games are no longer reading their save file then they are in the wrong location more than likely. If I recall there is an option to let RA handle the saves or the Core. If the core handles it, it depends. Sometimes they're located with the Roms, sometimes they're located in the System folder, or a save folder in the system folder, or where you tell it. You don't import any save files in to LaunchBox, only your roms. From there the Emulator handles all it needs to where ever it is located. Also, you don't need to move anything in to the LaunchBox structure if you don't want. The only thing that really needs to be here is metadata (which is downloaded), manuals (which is half covered right now) and music. Otherwise your emulators and roms can stay exactly where they are. If you moved everything then your saves broke this is probably why. You might be over thinking this. LaunchBox knows where the Emulator is located, it knows where all your roms are located. It uses the windows command line interface to launch and do everything it needs to. However RetroArch is set up to deal with saves has nothing at all to do with LaunchBox. Again, sometimes the saves need to be located with your roms, in your system folder, or in a specified folder. Also, my personal take on RocketLauncher is that it does not need to be used with LaunchBox what so ever, however, in all due fairness there are several members here, and dozens more switching over from RocketLauncher and EmulationStation to RL and LB. RocketLauncher can take sometime to set up, and it only offers a few features in my opinion that are any useful, and even then I still don't think there needs to be another layer on top. But again, there are lots of users who love RockerLauncher, and it can offer some cool features that we currently don't have but will in the future. If I didn't touch on anything or I didn't clarify anything enough please feel free to keep asking questions here. Also, in my signature is a link to our YouTube channel where we post Tutorials on how to deal with various facets of LaunchBox. Feel free to read those and suggest topics for those videos as well.
