  1. @Jason just checked went into folder options and set it to show hidden files no files anywhere on c drive in windows launchbox checked total system only when i type -01.db windows search points me to LaunchBox xml. anyway have nearly all the non existant files deleted at the moment only 1 or 2 platforms to go hope i dont have to go through that again lol. Am hoping that that will solve the problem.
  2. @Jason dont know if this helps you but i went on one of the games right clicked, then edit, i then went to one of the images that wasnt there and tried to save it to desktop. it looked like it was saved but nothing was placed on desktop. however if you look at the name for the non-existant image it finishes with an -01.db see enclosed image
  3. @Jason since update all the pictures in images in each platform fanart folders have had their name changed from what they were to the same name with -01 added to the end whether they are jpg or png format. Now LaunchBox has some lag as its trying to read a picture that is not there the screen shots i supplied show the images with the -01, prior to update none of the images had the -01 on the end of their names. i can only surmise that LaunchBox changed them because it read the same name for both the front and the fanart as the same. But now when i go into LaunchBox it doesnt show at times the fanart background to each game unless i delete a picture that is not there (which i take launchBox is trying to find the original image which is now renamed). i hope this explains it better.
  4. @Jason What the new installer or LaunchBox update did was if the game fronts are called say use MediaBox as an example, it doesnt differentitate between the folders, and because it see the fanart as the same name MediaBox as the front box cover it renames and gives the fanart the -01 prefix. See the images:- Front fanart
  5. @Jason think i've tracked down problem when you go into your images folder it gives all fanart a new prefix -01 at end of fanart name this cause LaunchBox to think there are 2 fanart images, the image you had set for the game or item in the respected platform and the now new image with the -01 prefix see below image:- Used my background image for my media centre as you can see it renamed the fanart image from MediaBox.jpg to MediaBox-01.jpg, the same applies to the other platforms and only applies to the fanart images as have no screenshots, logo's etc or other images except box front images and fanart images to cut down on size in images folder. As you can see the changes it made to names in ScummVm images fanart the same applies to all platforms
  6. @Jason just updated through BigBox new installer fast however opens up into LaunchBox from updating through BigBox. Also a strange occurance very slow as showing background images and created phantom images that are not there in some platforms, see images:- As you can see no image and in order for background image to be seen in LaunchBox when you click on a game in its respected platform you have to go to right click then edit and delete these phantom images.
  7. Its not the length of time its the journey, hopefully youll keep us updated on progress as will look forward to next installment, and you should be proud game looks well and for whats there so far works well.
  8. @SentaiBrad very well done Sentai only thing hated the cat when i went to bus stop he wouldnt let me out lol you should have a scare button lol looking forward to seeing in what direction you go with the rest of game. Lessons in the real world from the surreal? But overall quite good and easy to manouevre about in, and interact with objects and people ingame.
  9. Even deadline lol need to read what im writing before i hit submit lol
  10. @Jason tried to update LaunchBox through BgBox got the following error after 20+ minutes waiting for it to download see image:- So did the update through LaunchBox itself, update went smoothly and installed smoothly into my documents as usual as this is where i have all installed LaunchBox, emulators, games ect.

  14. @SentaiBrad downloaded game when start game am met with this didnt download the RTP data cant go any further as yet, will i download RTP or await you to provide patch?
  15. will download game without rpt data first and see how it goes and let you know any errors
  16. @SentaiBrad will be downloading your game tomorrow night is there any special instructions along with you post that i need to do?
  17. Yes SentaiBrad is 100% right as thats way i will be setting up arcade, easier to maintain, easier to troubleshoot.
  18. Probably but also makes it difficult to get back into windows as well thats why suggested autohide taskbar and screenshot earlier as windows is always available for troubleshooting problems. The shelling is what most arcade makers do but me personally i prefer the hide way as when have cabinet built for daughter will be way easier for me to maintain it for her.
  19. Dos Hadnt thought about documentating build lol
  20. Here is a way for windows to boot directly to frontends http://www.mp3car.com/the-faq-emporium/51635-faq-boot-directly-into-your-front-end.html
  21. @DOS76 Take a screenshot of Bigbox and set your background wallpaper to the screenshot (bit of a cheat) but it will look like BigBox has opened up immediately kind of camoflage especially if you set your taskbar to autohide. There are ways to have windows open up to frontends but it makes it harder to get back into windows if problems happen.
  22. Also at times the esc button doesnt go back a level in BigBox seems to work when it wants but the back button always works flawlessly.
  23. Very nice Jason but as am quite good at carpentry and wireing soldering etc am determined to build it all as have lot parts got just buttons arcade stick and encoder to get as have BigBox almost fully ready will play games, movies and music when finished.
  24. Thank you @Jason as am hopefully going to have mine built as an extra xmas prezzie for daughter and shes handy with usb control's (telling me often this is how you do it daddy) lol and navigating Bigbox
  25. @Jason here is a lovely instructable that make a lovely arcade machine http://www.instructables.com/id/A-Super-Easy-Arcade-Machine-from-1-Sheet-of-Plywoo/?&sort=ACTIVE&limit=40&offset=80#DISCUSS
