  1. Can we (and if so, how) flag an entry for deletion if it never existed on the platform at all; i.e. Iron Soldier 2, which is listed as an Atari 7800 game, but only came out for Jaguar? Also, what level of "game" are we allowing in the database? ROM hacks, homebrew, etc.? I'm all for them, I just worry about the can of worms they could open up.
  2. Drybonz said I've been working on re-making the snapshot art for the older MAME games that have black and white "official" art with better pics with the full bezels and overlays, etc... Is that something that I could upload? Also, would there be any interest in this? I'll attach an example. So this brings up an issue that's been bugging me for a while with MAME integration into LaunchBox, and now especially with the Launchbox Games Database. What exactly should we be using as "box" art for Arcade games? Because cabinets aren't ideal given that there's a huge variety of them, and flyers can vary wildly and might not even have the name of the game visible enough to distinguish it when shrunken down. I'm looking over the database right now, and it's (kind of) a mess. Should we decide to only use title screens? Or could we have an option for the users to decide what type of artwork they want to have constitute "box" art. For that matter (and maybe this is getting off topic) could there be an option in general for people who want title screens as box art on other consoles? I know this may seem nit-picky, but it's honestly why, after trying to add my arcade games to LaunchBox, I removed them. There's no semblance of order. And yes, I realize this was due entirely to the metadata being imported from the necessary evil that was TheGamesDB. I'm just thinking that if we're starting fresh over here, we could try to nip this in the bud.
  3. I've been noticing this as well, actually. I've got Launchbox installed on an SSD, and it still takes like 15-20 seconds to load. Of course, I've got approx. 6000 games in my XML, so maybe this is the best I can hope for.
  4. Good, I hate to see it die, especially over something like licensing.
  5. Apparently if you update to the beta drivers they released, it fixes the problem.
  6. SentaiBrad said I have several odd USB devices as well and I can tell you from my expierence I've had 0 issues with Windows 10 updates, either related to LaunchBox or otherwise. Okay good, this thread made me a little paranoid...especially reading it on the same day that I find out the new NVIDIA drivers have been pulled after overheating issues (and people mentioning my card specifically as one of the affected models.)
  7. Just had the update downloaded...man I hope this only applies to people with Xbone controllers; I've got a wired 360, an X-Arcade, a GameCube controller via USB, a Steam Controller, and a DolphinBar, and I'm now really nervous that one of those will react weirdly to it.
  8. Sheesh, I thought I was being good at keeping my MAME library around 2700...
  9. So MAME just announced it's going full open source, after obtaining permission from all the developers involved in it. http://mamedev.org/?p=422 Which is good. But MAME also announced that any future "derivative builds" of MAME, i.e. MAMEUI, MAMEUIFX etc. will require THEIR authors to go through the same amount of work and get their version relicensed. http://mamedev.org/?p=423 Which is awful. In response, the author of MAMEUIFX has quit development permanently. http://mame32fx.altervista.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=288&sid=35bc383e6b203e9fe1f98d890a0ba85f Which is CATASTROPHIC. It was the best version of MAME, and now it's gone, just like that. This makes me really hopeful that we get a better Arcade database going in Launchbox, because I'm NOT just using standard MAME.
  10. SentaiBrad said Video Scaling. https://i.imgur.com/jSZsToh.png Video scaling would be a nice addition, I've got a few lower resolution videos and they really stand out.
