  1. Jason Carr said Hi @FistyDollars, how newly added are they? What games are giving you trouble? I added them myself at some point during the moderation contest; they're all on MS-DOS; they are Arkanoid, Cyberia 2: Resurrection, Shamus, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Harbinger, and Super Stardust. I also tried "Happily Ever After" on the NES, and Mad Panic Coaster and Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force for the Sony Playstation, and they don't work either, so it's not an issue with just the DOS platform. It's bizarre. It finds the game in the DB, but when I click it to match it, it doesn't match it with a LaunchBox ID #, so as a result I can't download any images for the games.
  2. I'm having the same issues with the new beta; still no downloads for new game images, and no proper matching for newly added database games.
  3. I'm having a strange issue with the metadata downloading. It seems like the downloaded metadata isn't being stored properly locally, because every time I go to look up a new game that I've added to the LaunchBox GamesDB, it re-prompts me to update the local metadata; and after I match a game, it doesn't show the typical LaunchBox ID # in the top right corner, and doesn't let me download any of the images for the game from the LaunchBox GamesDB. Is anyone else having this issue?
  4. Jason Carr said How could I forget!? Sorry guys. And the winners are... 1. @Cebion 2. @FistyDollars 3. @HardcoreHubz @Ruester, you were number 4, but you put in such a great effort, I'll go ahead and give all four of you a forever license. Please send an email to me at jasondavidcarr@gmail.com with info on who you want the license to go out to (name and email). Thanks! :) Phew! I need a break...
  5. I had the same issue with MAMEUIFX; I just rebound it to the UI settings, worked fine.
  6. That's disappointing but not surprising... Lol, how do you know if your product is worth buying? If it's worth people spending time to crack it...
  7. LOL yeah, I really like this username. And yeah, I genuinely hadn't seen your RSS yet, I'd only read the article myself on Ars Technica 20 minutes beforehand. I guess they're a little behind on some things.
  8. Yeah, I think there might be an issue with any games that have been recently added to the DB, (which is all the Famicom Disk System games), I had the same issue with an NES game and two PSX ones.
  9. The new beta seems to be having issues with games recently added to the LaunchBox GamesDB; for instance, "Happily Ever After" for the NES, and "Mad Panic Coaster" and "Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force" for the PSX. It seems almost like it's only checking the LocalDB and Wikipedia? Also, happy 2 year anniversary on the beta testing thread!
  10. Nice, I've always wanted to be able to get into Saturn emulation, can't wait to see how it goes!
  11. You're too fast Brad...too fast....
  12. Freestate said Well, i have to point an issue attached to this conquest madness, i understand the point on the contest is to manage the bunch of contributions of this days BUTTTT!! i see obviously that acording to seeking the prize the moderation is been a disaster and a next-next-next-clicking madness only to achieve the prize. By mistake i upload a widescreen fanart as disc image and SURPRISE ! 3 moderators aprove it. Without a system to audit good moderation the result of this contest is auto-accept entries like a robot. I agree that there should be a way to delete a change you've submitted without having to wait for it to be moderated. HOWEVER; as for the claims that the top moderators are auto-clicking robots seeking the prize? First off, I already have a forever license, and have had one since before Jason raised the price - if I win, I'm giving it to a friend of mine who's been jealous of my frontend setup for a while, but it's hardly a motivator. Secondly, and Brad/Jason can back me up on this, I've been trying to stay on top of the queue since moderation launched, well before the contest, and honestly the whole reason I've become more active on the forums was because of the feeling of belonging here that being a moderator gave me. Third, I do this because I genuinely enjoy it. I LOVE finding out (and then researching for confirmation) things about games I didn't know existed, or were released on platforms I never saw as a child. Sure, sometimes it gets a little grindy, but the interesting stuff you can find in the queue is totally worth it to me. Obviously I can't speak for anyone else, but as the guy currently in 1st, I just wanted you to know where I'm coming from.
  13. It's called Happily Ever After, and is based on the Filmation Snow White movie. And you better BELIEVE I submitted it to the LaunchBox GamesDB
  14. SentaiBrad said I would like to remind everyone to try and follow the Guidelines as best as possible. I requested the deletion of two image with nudity and someone rejected those. Those need to be accepted. Just had a similar issue when I was going through the arcade flyers for some "Adult" arcade games and flagging anything with nudity for deletion - 0 approvals, 2 rejections so far, and I assume that the deletion will be rejected. I don't personally even agree with the nudity policy, but if it's the policy, I'll do my damnedest to make sure it's enforced; but I can't do that if other mods don't follow the rules. We really need to have the ability to leave comments when requesting deletion of content.
  15. That is a SEXY card...and a very conveniently timed announcement considering that Sony/Microsoft are both strongly rumored to be releasing upgraded console hardware to be shown at E3
  16. Jason Carr said Hey guys, beta 2 is out. I'm hoping it fixes the errors with pins; I wasn't able to reproduce them but I put in safety checks, so let me know. I also fixed the Sort Title issue that Nathan noted. I also finally got around to changing the default game title sorting to ignore "the", "a", and "and". :) No joke, that's the thing I've wanted changed more than ANYTHING since I started using LaunchBox. THAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Currently you can't add/edit developers/publishers, but Jason has said that that functionality is coming soon. If I were you I'd go ahead and add the games. If they're not in the database, they need to be, regardless of whether every single field is currently filled out. You can always submit the changes later when possible.
  18. Yup, I just started up again, and it is BLAZINGLY fast. Love it!
  19. I'm getting about 11-12 seconds consistently as of right now, so that's way better. No error messages so far, which is good because by around 3-4 pm PST today I'd have to reload the page once or twice just to get a new entry and not an error message. I'll update if anything changes.
  20. So I've been having issues in the moderation queue in the past week. Initially it seemed like it was taking longer and longer to generate a new entry to moderate (20-30 second wait at times, from 3-5 in the beginning.) Now when I go to moderate, I frequently will get errors such as the one I took a screengrab of. I even tried multiple browsers. Is anyone else getting these issues?
  21. This is an open post to whoever is posting all the Amiga screenshots and box art with a watermark for the Amiga database, "Hall of Light." We can't accept any art with watermarks. Unfortunately I have to reject them regardless of quality, if I see that blue "Hall of Light" watermark in the bottom right. In addition, I've been having to reject any New Game submissions that have watermarked images attached. The last thing we need to do is make enemies, despite the questionable practice some sites have of watermarking images they don't hold the actual copyright to.
  22. If you're looking for a solid TG16/CD emulator but don't want to deal with the hassle of RetroArch I'd recommend checking out BizHawk, it's got a TG16 emulator in it that in many ways is better than even Mednafen, and is fairly easy to use (you can just ignore all the TAS stuff in it.) I actually use it as my primary emulator for quite a few systems, it's worth checking out.
  23. I've been doing the same. I hope that whoever's been uploading them reads this and would do us the favor of having them be replacements...
  24. Either Mega Man 3 or Super Mario Bros. 3. I know those were the first two I ever beat, but for the life of me I can't remember which happened first.
  25. Fair point. I'll punch up a ticket (guess I got a little sidetracked)
