Games and emulators you have to source on your own because distributing them with the front end would be illegal. Getting emulators and setting them up is the easy part, roms aren't too hard to get but you will have to do a little searching on your own, sorry we cannot provide links to the best places because of legal reasons.

I'm good with taking all the blame, it really doesn't bother me. I encouraged Jason to release this because I feel it was more important to let the community know what was happening. If some people got their panties in a bunch over an email being sent out or they feel that this is divisive then so be it. Frankly for the most part a lot (if not all) of the complaints came from people that barely ever even post or take part in the community. The day to day forum and discord users don't seem to be as upset about this and if they are upset they are keeping it to themselves. We did have one person (a well known name in the emulation community) on the discord chat that decided to pop off at shit but he has never had anything to contribute to Launchbox but decided that tonight would be the time. He got a swift Discord ban for his troubles. To all those saying this was unprofessional, I ask what would you do if someone was openly threatening your lively hood and means of taking care of your family ? Jason was looking for community support and for the most part he got it. We saw more positive posts from people who never or rarely post than we did negative. I will stand by this being a good thing and if anyone wants to blame anyone by all means blame me because I really don't give a shit, I will still be here helping people and keeping this place a friendly environment to ask for help.

Hey if it makes everyone happy and feel better by all means I will accept all the blame and move on with my life.

This all started because he got pissed because I banned him from the forums a couple of days ago. Then he got some copyright notice on one of his youtube videos and thinks its one of us so in his mind Launchbox is attacking his lively hood. So in turn he decided to attack Jason and his lively hood, Launchbox.

No one is saying that at all, in fact if you knew or saw what happens sometimes in private you would be surprised at what we tell Jason not to do and we voice our opinions very loudly to him.

Jason is overly concerned about it because Chris went out of his way to specifically say that Launchbox was going to be under attack and sold just because he was pissed off at me for banning him from the forums. Chris was openly declaring he was basically black mailing Jason in order to make him stop doing something that was not done by Jason or anyone else that is a part of Launchbox.

Ok, keep the insults to yourselves or I will start deleting posts and handing out warnings / bans if necessary. This goes for everyone and not directed any one person.

We know that there are people who are going to pirate Launchbox and they won't pay for it no matter what, that isn't the issue at all. We have had this discussion in private and we all agree that the best way to beat this is to keep providing the best front end with the most features and the best forum around. We take great pride in the fact that many general emulation searches link back directly to a post or thread here. We see other forums and reddit threads and we know we have the most helpful and friendly community around. I really don't think @Jason Carr handled this wrong, we were attacked by a douchebag and we are letting the community know. We do not expect or want anyone from the community to go out of their way to do anything, all we are asking for is the support of the community, nothing more. If someone feels an email being sent out was too much or out of line then I guess on behalf of Jason I will even apologize, not that it would matter to anyone actually complaining about a simple email.

Your last post wasn't deleted, it's formatted for some reason that it's invisible to dark theme users.

There is some negative responses but there are a lot more positive ones.

If people are upset about an email informing them of what is happening then I guess that is just the price of doing what Jason felt was the right thing to do. I personally don't see why people would be upset over a simple email, delete it and move on with your life instead of coming to complain about an email.

Licenses will be revoked and the product is going to be made even better than before but a single email informing the community of what is going on is not a big deal or something to get worked up over.

This was discussed before the email being sent and we all felt it was a necessary step to let the Launchbox community know what is happening.

We're not suggesting or condoning anything that any members of the community does but we also cannot tell you what you can and cannot do.

A quick tally of the post totals comes to approx 90,000 and this is on the new forums since the old ones, math is hard.

We have a great community and we know we will get through this issue. Launchbox has a huge future ahead. With so many great features coming Launchbox will continue to be the premier front end with features not available anywhere else and worth every penny spent on it.

Yup, I agree with everything you said and I watch a lot of the youtube channels like MetalJesus for the CD based stuff since i'm on a relatively shit internet speed and don't want to waste time downloading the larger games. I guess i'm just too lazy to be bothered to go through and delete all the trash from my cart based collections

Yeah, I have all my Japan and translated roms all thrown in the pile as well, but those are hand picked rather than full collections.
