  1. I've stickied this thread for discussion and later on if it gets more input I will see about putting together a list.
  2. I could sticky this thread. As for the database side of things that is such a tricky thing to handle because of the difference of opinions and personal requirements based on individual users hardware.
  3. Updated my list with the now available Mesen core for the NES, this thing is simply amazing and is available through the Online Updater in Retroarch.
  4. If you view all games do your games show in the list ? Also make sure you have the list view set to Platform like in the pic:
  5. I figured someone would have had an answer for you by now but I guess not. Unfortunately I have nothing to offer you in ways of advice since I don't have any experience with the i-pac beyond knowing that it exists and what it is.
  6. Nope, this is not a restriction on the free version at all. The only real major restrictions are BigBox more and controller automation and a couple of very minor ones. Have you imported any Genesis games at all ? If not then they will show up once you do, just import a bunch of Genesis games and when asked for which platform just type it in if it's not in the drop down menu.
  7. You can always just delete the clear logos and force the theme to use text lists if I remember correctly.
  8. Just to update this thread a little, the Mupen64 core in Retroarch is very much up to date and worked on and the Parallel core has seen some good updates as well when using the angrylion plugin for more accuracy, you do need a good CPU to drive it though.
  9. @Vlansix hasn't been around lately, not sure where he is or what's happening with him, hopefully everything is ok.
  10. Yeah but compared to how busy that channel used to be it's pretty much a ghost town as of late, though there have been a couple of people on there, still not like how it used to be.
  11. Also I would like to add that the database channel in Discord has been for the most part dead as of late. Would be nice if we had more people in there to co-ordinate and resolve any issues / debates.
  12. I use Windows 10 and a dual monitor setup without issues but I also have it setup to launch on my main display.
  13. According to his tests vsync alone combined with hard gpu sync and frame delay doesn't have any added input lag. Keep in mind he is using an LCD monitor, TVs are different and have image processing hardware in them and will have input lag, especially if "Game Mode" is not enabled.
  14. From his post: RetroArch settings Default, except: video_fullscreen = “true” video_windowed_fullscreen = “false” video_hard_sync = “true” video_frame_delay = “6” video_smooth = “false” You can adjust your frame delay and make it higher for lower lag if your CPU is fast enough for it. Brunnis said that 6 was as high as he could go on the laptop he tested on, if you go to high there will be audio crackles and slowdown.
  15. Brunnis over on the Retroarch has done some more input lag testing and has some very interesting results. It is a bit of a long, mathy and technical post but the TLDR version is this; Properly setup emulators and an LCD monitor has no more input lag than an actual SNES hooked up to a CRT TV. https://forums.libretro.com/t/an-input-lag-investigation/4407/524
  16. Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me, my knowledge of SCUMMVM beyond what it is is zero.
  17. Yeah you don't need RocketLauncher for anything beyond some cosmetic features like fade and pause screens though I know right now some of the RL users will be in here to point out all the cool stuff you can do with it. For me it's just not worth the hassle to learn how to use it and making sure the the "modules" for it work with the version of the emulators you are using. If you aren't already accustomed to using it it has a steep learning curve.
  18. You can use RocketLauncher if you want and there are certain benefits to using it, exactly how beneficial is up to you and how much you care about the extra functionality it will give. For me personally I have no use for it but there are others around here who love it for what it can do. You will get very little support in helping set it up from the moderators around here only because most of us do not use it at all. You will have to rely on other users, the RocketLauncher forums or Youtube tutorials on how to set it all up. There is very few emulators if any that Launchbox won't work with, I can't think of any off the top of my head that don't work but there are a couple that will require some extra legwork like SSF requiring a batch file for mounting disk images or Daphne but they will work. As for adding games like Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS3 that's up to you. Xbox 360 and PS3 does have emulators at least capable of loading and playing some games at some level.
  19. My guess is that the Wii controller is seen as a mouse input and not as the left analog stick of a controller.
  20. The left analog stick on my 360 controller lets me use that arrow, also my Logitech wireless controller I use with my HTPC setup.
  21. That's the cursor you get when using a controller in Launchbox, maybe the analog stick is acting weird or something or you have some other controller interacting with it somehow. You can disable it in the options.
  22. Launchbox sends nothing that it is not told to via command line or some other 3rd party software such as RocketLauncher if using that.
  23. I think they are in the \config\"emulator name"\ folder.
