  1. I'd suggest using Mame. Easier to setup controls and great shaders with BGFX.
  2. What I mean is that it's per emulator in Launchbox. If you go into your Edit Emulators window and then the emulator you use for your NeoGeo platform and turn off Extract Archive in there then then it's only for that emulator and not all emulators in Launchbox. They only way this could be a problem is if you use the same emulator for other platforms that you need to extract the archive for.
  3. It's set on a per emulator basis.
  4. Best to start up a thread in the themes section here and one of the theme makers here should be able to help you out. http://forums.launchbox-app.com/forum/58-big-box-custom-themes/
  5. Yup, glad you got it sorted out.
  6. Do your games load through Launchbox as well now ?
  7. I believe more in simple configuration errors
  8. Remove all the games from your Arcade platform and then re-import. Just removing the games won't get rid of the media and meta data so when you do the reimport you can uncheck all the scraping and that will drastically speed up the import process. Simply re-importing over top of what is there won'r work because Launchbox thinks those games are already there and doesn't import.
  9. Do your games load with Mame on its own ?
  10. You do not need them in the Launchbox folder, you can have them wherever you want.
  11. Yes, 7.4 is solid. Like Neil9000 said, highlight all your games and edit, then use the bulk edit tool to change the emulator. If you are importing a rom file that is already there it is going to spit out that error unless you tell LB to force import duplicates.
  12. Uncheck the Don't Use Quotes and Use File Name Only boxes and see if that fixes it for you, those shouldn't be checked for Mame.
  13. Different emulators will have different ways of loading in to full screen. Some use a command line parameter and some have a setting in the emulator itself. I don't know which method Nestopia uses but I know Project 64 has an option in the settings for starting games full screen.

    Start time

Takes me about 15 seconds for both Launchbox and BigBox mode using the latest 7.3 beta and a library of approx 10,500 games. System Specs: Windows 8.1 AMD 8350 @4 GHz 16 gigs ram 2 TB Western Digital Red HD
  15. Mario Kart 8 isn't just a simple port, it is more like Mario Kart 8 + DLC (extra tracks and play modes). Splatoon is a sequel. I think the Switch is doing some things right. The system itself is unique and I give them full credit and the controllers are cool. Now that I got what I think is good out of the way let me voice my opinion on what is wrong. While the $300 USD price tag itself is fine for the main hardware it should have at least had a pack in game. 1 2 Switch should be included in the box as it just just a glorified tech demo like Wii Sports was. Nintendo also should have ported Mario 3D Worlds and thrown it in the box as a pack in like how it is with the WiiU. This would literally cost them pennies to include since the game is completed and it would be an added incentive for people who skipped the WiiU to purchase the Switch. Mario is a system seller and always has been and this would add so much more value with very little added cost to Nintendo. The other big problem I have is the cost of the accessories. A 2nd pair of Joycons and charger base will run people an additional $110 USD (I think it is) which is $140 Canadian dollars which is absolutely insane for a 2nd controller. Even the Pro Controller is over priced when compared to the XBone and PS4 controller. What I think Nintendo saw with the Amiibos and the NES Classic was just how much money people were willing to pay scalpers on the secondary market for their products and realized just how much they could charge their fanbase. The hardcore Nintendo fans and the Youtubers will buy this thing up big time and Nintendo will make a lot of money in the short run. But come Christmas I am not so sure that the average consumer will be willing to plop down the amount of money necessary to get the system, a game or two and second set of Joycons. I just know that this Christmas past I picked up a new PS4 with Uncharted 4 and FF XV for $375 including taxes Canadian where a Switch + Zelda + 2nd controller would have run me over $700 including taxes. My best friend who has been a lifelong Nintendo fan and owned every console by them up to and including the WiiU and New 3DS won't be buying a Switch at it's current price. It's just way too much money when it is lacking in power compared to the competition. While it is ok to not have as powerful of hardware you cannot at the same time double the price when you take pack in games and controllers into account. This is all just my opinion of course I could easily be completely wrong.
  16. You can either point to the media in Launchbox in the Manage Platforms. This way is good if you want to have both frontends without doubling your media. Or you can copy / move your media over to the appropriate folders within your Launchbox folder. I have done this with some media in my collection with success but please don't hate me if it does not work for you.
  17. Perhaps you should go back and re-read the thread. No one told you "NO" to anything, you were simply told there was a different way to do things and the way you wanted wasn't 100% achievable in the current version of Launchbox there was a solution that was close to what you wanted and offered more benefits to other people at the same time. At no time did anyone tell you straight up "NO", you simply chose to take everything that was said to you that way and you chose to get offended by it.
  18. Ok well if you want a new forum sub-section hit up Jason, he has control over all that.
  19. Right but that would be the forum section for AHK and Batch scripts anyways so why not compile them into a single thread ?
  20. If you want to start one up over in the Third Party Applications and Plugins section with some scripts I will be happy to sticky it for you. http://forums.launchbox-app.com/forum/79-third-party-applications-and-plugins/
  21. Yes, as long as you have any prerequisite system files installed on the other system.
  22. Yeah just import your libraries and uncheck all the boxes for the media files you have and then just drop the media you have into their appropriate locations. As long as the media file names are close to the games file name or even close to the game name itself it should work just fine, the file names don't necessarily need to be 100% accurate but it does need to be somewhat close.
  23. You can move everything to another drive fairly easily but the difficulty will depend on the previous setup. If you have everything self contained in a single folder including emulators and roms it will be really easy. As far as your RetroFE media is concerned you should just be able to drop the media such as screenshots, videos and boxarts and anything else in the appropriate folders within Launchbox and have them work. I have done this with several things in the past such as game videos and mame wheel art and screen shots. I had that from previously wasting my time with HyperSpin.
  24. Main system: AMD 8350 @ 4 GHz, 16 gigs ram, GTX 970. I can run Launchbox with any theme and view with no problems. HTPC: AMD 3800+ @ 2.4 GHz, 2 gigs rame, Radeon 7850 1 gig vram. It runs Launchbox fine with the basic theme and animations turned off and it runs fine.
  25. The explanation was there is the "Scan for added / removed roms" tool. You can do things either way and the way it is offers way more control to the end user which is what makes Launchbox the best frontend out there over everything else.
