  1. @Jason Carr not sure if this is a known bug, but with the latest 11.5 beta, BigBox themes which I created with Community Theme Creator no longer work. The graphics don't show and everything looks very empty. After I installed version 11.4, there were no problems with these same themes.

  2. Count me in too, as I'd love to see a BigBox theme which uses the artwork, patterns, scheme from CoinOps! As much as I appreciate and enjoy the amazing work they've put into coinops, it uses the frontend RetroFE which is quite limited in functions and the wheel lags terribly while scrolling through the game/system choices, making for a somewhat annoying experience.

How did you add that bezel .. Help.. newbie here

You have to use another program in conjunction with launchbox/bigbox and it's called rocketlauncher. With rocketlauncher, you can apply fades, pause screens, and bezels to emulators and programs which don't normally have them available. However, it does require some extra steps and a little bit of effort to get it up and running properly. On that youtube page, there's a link to the jukebox program and the bezels which can be used. Also, rocketlauncher can be downloaded here: https://www.rlauncher.com/forum/vbdownloads.php

I had this issue as well. Just edited the xml file for the startup theme and put in the exact image location.

The only issue i can't resolve is when downloading media, i'm unable to see what is available from emumovies. The tab for it just looks half gray and half white when i click it, like something is glitching. I checked my logs and i see this

2020-07-27 12:54:03 AM FIRST CHANCE EXCEPTION: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. : 'C:\Users\zacha.000\LaunchBox\pack:\application:,,,\WpfResources\Background.png'
       at System.IO.FileStream.ValidateFileHandle(SafeFileHandle fileHandle)
2020-07-27 12:54:03 AM EXCEPTION IGNORED: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. : 'C:\Users\zacha.000\LaunchBox\pack:\application:,,,\WpfResources\Background.png'

Seems like the third party plugin can't find something.

Thanks. Actually, that does solve the problem temporarily, but causes a new problem in terms of portability

  5. Not sure if this has been reported or posted by anyone else, but since the latest beta, there are some issues with startup screens. The ones which use external folders do not show any background graphics

Thanks! I finally figured it out, at least for now. Using a combination of the advice from @neil9000 and @Rlad I was able to get the right size without any bars around the video-image. Thanks a lot for the help! Here's what I was able to make (just now) with the Neo Geo game "Bang Bead"

Note: If you watch it here, it doesn't look quite right, but if you watch it full screen on the youtube website, it's fine :)

What are you trying to achieve? It sounds like expected behaviour to me? Similar to how a movie recorded in widescreen format will be letter-boxed if watched on a narrower display. Or do you want to crop the video such that it literally cuts off the top and bottom? That would be the only one way to force a 4:3 source to fit into a 16:9 aspect ratio without black bars.

What I'm trying to achieve is a video which looks like any of the other videos on emumovies. Something that looks like this:
    01.png.9c3310ed911c0f5c4762fcbd6b1bac91.pngand not this
    02.png.b3dee4998e86c4dc6bf163f1e4492405.pngand not this either
03.png.2c76140d408aeef9d12b125c90635981.pngWhile the 2nd and 3rd options might be expected behavior, they shouldn't be accepted behavior :)

Thanks a lot for the fast response. I tried this and played around with it for a while but the results still seem to be the same. I can't eliminate the bars around the video. Anyone else out there had luck with this?

  9. The video capture is a really nice extra feature! Just wondering if anyone knows how to crop videos? Even when I run retroarch in full screen (which isn't the ideal way for most games), I still have large black bars on the left and right on the output video.

I don't use the Startup Screen feature in Launchbox. I just did a quick test and it loaded fine for me.

What happens when Startup Screen is enabled and you launch the emulator?

Thanks a lot for the quick response. While using the startup screen, this is what I get
Untitled-1.thumb.jpg.1fe219c10ad6aeb4a50d7022def24ad8.jpgAnd nothing happens beyond that. I can only guess that the startup screen interrupts the plugin, hence causing the whole thing to stop completely

  11. About 2 years too late on this post, but I just added this one to LaunchBox and it looks pretty fun. By any chance, do you know of any scripts do make it full screen or to automatically start the "CLOAD" command for tapes?

I don't think that has been requested, actually. But noted. :)

Okay, thanks again for the reply! Sorry, I had a hard time editing my original post to remove images but now I've got that problem solved? I think this would be a good fix/feature to add in as I've seen it mentioned before by other users in the past but no real answer or solution was given.

  13. Jason, thanks for the quick answer. However, that doesn't seem to work. I unchecked all boxes in the background image priorities and it still shows the platform (system) fanart. For example, this is what I'm aiming for:

01.thumb.jpg.9317f15ec66acf516e43cd968a32e201.jpgBut this is what happens every time I choose a game on the list, as shown in the example:

    02.thumb.jpg.c255d5ab87f0d4fc12f3c725df81195b.jpg

  14. Not trying to bring up an old topic or anything, but the original question wasn't really answered here (and a "data folder" fix was suggested instead) and I've been wondering about this for a long time as well. Is there a way to turn off the fanart and other images from showing in the background of LaunchBox? For instance, if you use the LBPlex theme, there's no problem but with all of the other themes, my platform fanart always pops up in the background. @Jason Carr has this fix/feature been requested before?
