Glad to hear you got it working. I think there's a theme video like that in the "Unified Refried" theme somewhere. You can find it here

Thank you, i have just created the following
c:\launchbox\images\playlists\Arcade Light Gun\
and created the sub folders in there and dropped the logo into the clear logo sub folder.
I am currently doing a full launchbox theme update so once it has finished I will run Big Box and see if this has helped.
Many thanks for your help, it is really appreciated as I have been going around in circles trying to do this :-).
No problem at all! That should work and like Neil said, be sure to refresh the cache in Bigbox, Options/Image Cache.
-
It should already be there, but I'd make the "Playlists" folder and then add a folder in that with the exact name of your playlists, and then add these sub-folders in that folder: Banner, Clear Logo, Device, Fanart

There should be a folder like this (example: sports)
C:\launchbox\Images\Playlists\Sports Games\Clear Logo
That's where you should put the logo

yes it is RetroFresh, oh nice Playlists, I didnt see that, I was mainly focused on the platform folder. Let me go and try that now. Many thanks for your swift reply :-).
No worries! When all else fails, I just copy and paste images until I find what works. Just keep in mind though, if you place any logos in the "images" folder of Retrofresh, they'll only work with that particular theme
-
Which theme are you using? RetroFresh?
You may need to copy that logo-image into the "Clear Logo" folder for "Playlists". And then refresh the images in options
-
I wouldn't worry about it, because in general, a lot of antivirus programs (including Microsoft's) identify false positives, and IMHO it's their method of persuading the customer into believing that their software is "doing a great job" and should (ultimately) be renewed for another subscription. Otherwise, I'd say if you downloaded launchbox from one of those shady websites out there, it could be a legit virus.

Thanks a lot for sharing this! Although I haven't used RocketLauncher in ages and will probably have to spend some time getting reacquainted with it. Do you have any examples or videos which show how these work? I'd like to see if there's anything worth adding, or just sticking with the standard fade utility that comes with LaunchBox/BigBox.

Beta 5 is out now with a fix for the Theme Creator themes issue mentioned above.
Thanks a lot for the update! The themes seem to be working normal again

@Jason Carr not sure if this is a known bug, but with the latest 11.5 beta, BigBox themes which I created with Community Theme Creator no longer work. The graphics don't show and everything looks very empty. After I installed version 11.4, there were no problems with these same themes.
-
Count me in too, as I'd love to see a BigBox theme which uses the artwork, patterns, scheme from CoinOps! As much as I appreciate and enjoy the amazing work they've put into coinops, it uses the frontend RetroFE which is quite limited in functions and the wheel lags terribly while scrolling through the game/system choices, making for a somewhat annoying experience.

Great collection of themes! I've made about 4 or 5 themes as well, but nothing worthy of uploading here, at least not yet

How did you add that bezel .. Help.. newbie here
You have to use another program in conjunction with launchbox/bigbox and it's called rocketlauncher. With rocketlauncher, you can apply fades, pause screens, and bezels to emulators and programs which don't normally have them available. However, it does require some extra steps and a little bit of effort to get it up and running properly. On that youtube page, there's a link to the jukebox program and the bezels which can be used. Also, rocketlauncher can be downloaded here: https://www.rlauncher.com/forum/vbdownloads.php

I had this issue as well. Just edited the xml file for the startup theme and put in the exact image location.
The only issue i can't resolve is when downloading media, i'm unable to see what is available from emumovies. The tab for it just looks half gray and half white when i click it, like something is glitching. I checked my logs and i see this
2020-07-27 12:54:03 AM FIRST CHANCE EXCEPTION: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. : 'C:\Users\zacha.000\LaunchBox\pack:\application:,,,\WpfResources\Background.png' at System.IO.FileStream.ValidateFileHandle(SafeFileHandle fileHandle) 2020-07-27 12:54:03 AM EXCEPTION IGNORED: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. : 'C:\Users\zacha.000\LaunchBox\pack:\application:,,,\WpfResources\Background.png'
Seems like the third party plugin can't find something.
Thanks. Actually, that does solve the problem temporarily, but causes a new problem in terms of portability
-
Not sure if this has been reported or posted by anyone else, but since the latest beta, there are some issues with startup screens. The ones which use external folders do not show any background graphics
-
Great work once again! The theme creator is definitely looking more polished and the extra features are quite good too!
-
Yep, that's what I did just now (check the post above) and I was able to get it to work, although it wasn't a very smooth or simple process. Nevertheless, problem solved for now. Thanks again!

Thanks! I finally figured it out, at least for now. Using a combination of the advice from @neil9000 and @Rlad I was able to get the right size without any bars around the video-image. Thanks a lot for the help! Here's what I was able to make (just now) with the Neo Geo game "Bang Bead"
Note: If you watch it here, it doesn't look quite right, but if you watch it full screen on the youtube website, it's fine

What are you trying to achieve? It sounds like expected behaviour to me? Similar to how a movie recorded in widescreen format will be letter-boxed if watched on a narrower display. Or do you want to crop the video such that it literally cuts off the top and bottom? That would be the only one way to force a 4:3 source to fit into a 16:9 aspect ratio without black bars.
What I'm trying to achieve is a video which looks like any of the other videos on emumovies. Something that looks like this:
and not this
and not this either
While the 2nd and 3rd options might be expected behavior, they shouldn't be accepted behavior

Thanks a lot for the fast response. I tried this and played around with it for a while but the results still seem to be the same. I can't eliminate the bars around the video. Anyone else out there had luck with this?
-
The video capture is a really nice extra feature! Just wondering if anyone knows how to crop videos? Even when I run retroarch in full screen (which isn't the ideal way for most games), I still have large black bars on the left and right on the output video.
-
I'm not too crazy about the color scheme (yellow, orange, red) but it's nicely designed. Thanks for sharing!

I believe you're right... does it work if you disable Startup Screen?
The commands require the Project Phoenix emulator to be the frontmost window
Yep, when the startup screen is disabled it works fine. Not a deal breaker by any means, but just thought you might want to know or add that in to the plugin information

Glad to hear you got it working, based on my advice from over two years ago?
