I just picked up a copy of the DL 20th anniversary discs and did the downloads through Daphne... I noticed the files were a little different than the ones I had been using previously and it did, in fact, fix the problem I was having with brief messages displaying between some scenes, so that was nice. I have a small problem with the attract mode starting over when it is half-way through... I would like to fix that if possible. Also, the 2.1 Enhanced version is no longer playing the initial drawbridge scene like it did with the old files I was using, and I would like to get that back. Anyone have experience with either problem? Thanks for the help.

SentaiBrad said Yea auto hide has bugs like that from time to time. I remember having that happen to me as far back as Windows 7. Yeah, it has always been like that. Certain programs just don't work well with it.
-
I don't have it in fullscreen... every once in a while a program will block my taskbar (which I always have on autohide). I know they aren't supposed to do that but some programs will.

Thanks guys, now just have to figure out the controller issue for older games, like SotN that were before analog sticks. *edit* On a side note... the reason I don't run Launchbox in a maximized window is that it blocks my taskbar... I just size the window to almost the full screen.

I was trying out the new version of ePSXe and I ran into a couple small problems. There doesn't seem to be a feature for "analog to digital" (like with Retroarch) that will allow me to use my analog sticks in games that didn't support the dual analog PSX controller. Is there a way to do this without remapping the controller each time I play one of these games? Also... a small annoyance... each time I close ePSXe it re-sizes my Launchbox window. Is there any way to prevent this short of leaving the Launchbox window maximixed? Also... I used to use Pete's graphics plugin... with the new version of ePSXe do I want to use the ePSXe graphics plugin or is Pete's still the best one to go with? Thanks for the help. :)

What about a user updated section of the forum for emulation news?... and then have the thread topics show in a "news" section in Launchbox. We can literally keep each other updated through the app with no maintenance required on your part.

DOS76 said Nice but I was thinking more along the lines of a post here on the forum were people can report finding new emulators or updated versions of emulators and keep them neat in one post and up at the top emulator section like the emulator settings for all platforms post. I was just thinking this, as well, the other day. Since Launchbox supports multiple emulators it would be a great idea to help each other keep up on emulation news. *edit* Maybe even an in-app section for emulation news when you start Launchbox. Would be a nice touch.

DOS76 said I think that the OP wants to completely remove the games from his HDD not just LB Right... delete them from my rom set.
-
Thanks, I just checked it out... I have tried a couple others like this too. One of the big problems is that the .xml and .ini files they require don't seem to be updated and maintained any more. I found the most recent ones I could and ran it. Instead of deleting the rom files from your rom set, it outputs a file that I think your MAME version or front end is supposed to use as a filter to not show those games, but I couldn't figure out how to use it with MAMEUIFX. So, good looking out, I appreciate it... but still can't figure out how to simply delete those roms.
-
Yeah, I don't have any interest in those games and my romset is about 60gb, so I want to get rid of some of that stuff.
-
Anyone know if there is an easy way to delete all the poker and mahjong games from your MAME romset?

The save issue I was having was with the Retroarch version... I'm using the standalone with no problems. I have no idea if there are or were still issues with Retroarch DS, I was just having problems myself and it was more headache to me than it was worth.

Are you able to use filters (pixelate, etc) in Desmume X432R? They are greyed out on mine... wondering if I need to change some other video option. *edit* Sorry... just figured it out... have to disable magnification.
-
I think I probably un-checked it trying to figure out what the option was for and then forgot that I had done it.
-
Ok, I found it... it's in options > side bar > "all" setting.

DOS76 said When searching in all it shows all the games lumped together Yeah, that's exactly what I'm looking to do... it's helpful when you are trying to find games in a franchise that spanned multiple platforms, etc...
-
This is probably about as simple a problem as possible, but I can't figure it out. I want to simply search my entire game collection instead of just one platform. It seems like there may have been an "all games" platform at some point? I may have deleted it and now can't figure out a simple way to search through all games. My preference would be for the search to always search all games and then be able to drill down by platform for what I want, but it doesn't seem like that is possible. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I keep a 120 SSD for my system drive, a 256 SSD for games with longer load times (like newer steam games) and a 3tb HDD for all other storage (games, movies, music, etc). This covers all the bases.

You might want to try the audio sync enable option in the Retroarch audio options also.
-
Well, I did have configs for all the different cores but I just decided to reinstall everything and start fresh. I'm trying to keep it set on one config this time so it's less confusing, but at some point I will have to start using some per-core options. That device index option was stuck on one setting for some reason before I reinstalled, but it's all working normally now. Hopefully, I can avoid screwing it up again.

My controller seems to have stopped responding in Retroarch (games and menu). I have been wondering how to change the default configurations for Retroarch. It seems like any time I change a setting it only changes for a specific core... for example if I change the menu wallpaper it only changes for the core I am using and then if I change cores it is right back to the default Retroarch wallpaper. So, for things like that I want to be able to change it globally, as well as changing my controller input settings globally to fix that problem. For some things, I want to change them core-specific, but I'm wondering how I get back to changing things globally in the Retroarch settings.

Check your settings under drivers > audio as well, and make sure you have it on dsound, or whatever the best choice is for your system.

DOS76 said I see on a site that there are more games than are listed in the loader I am guessing that these games aren't playable in Daphne as of yet. I think Mad Dog McCree and Johnny Rock, etc used to be playable, but I could be mistaken. This would have been back before the whole Digital Leisure thing. Also, there are some that are playable in MAME as CHD's, like Cubequest, which is like a laserdisc Tempest.

CriticalCid said I already mapped the two buttons in Daphne Loader but they don't work in game. Other buttons like LB or RB are working toally fine if I map them to coin and start. Hmm... that's odd. Not sure what to say. I use select for my coin and start for, well... start. Hope you are able to get it working.
-
You will have to map the select and start buttons. With the analog stick, it seems like it isn't recognizing it in the input configuration screen, but like you said, will work in the game. So you will just have to map the buttons.
