  1. I'm pretty excited about it. :)
  2. I guess the same would apply if you wanted to filter all clones, but you wanted to keep Midway Pac-Man or maybe a couple other important clones.
  3. That would be great... I was wondering if it would be able to do something like that. Also, would be cool if you could pick a combination of systems, or favorites folders, or whatever groups you want and combine them under one platform (called "arcade" or whatever)... that way you could custom pick your arcade platform (instead of having many platforms) (maybe this is already possible and I just missed it).
  4. I finally tried this with a Turbografx CD game and it even used the .srm (save) file inside the .rar. I'm assuming it won't write to the .rar file to update the save game, but I can always change save directories. *edit* I guess the main addition that would be nice is if Launchbox recognized that your .cue file was in the .rar file so you don't have to edit all the games in your collection to new .rar files. In other words my Dracula X.cue is now in Dracula X.rar (or whatever name) so Launchbox looks in Dracula X.rar to find the .cue file instead of having to edit every single game that you are changing to an archive. Maybe there's already a way to do this and I'm missing it.
  5. Will the archive opening feature work if the game files are in a directory within the archive (for example the .bin and .cue in a folder zipped)?
  6. Does ScummVM have any advantages over Dosbox, or run any games that it doesn't? Just curious.
  7. Ok, I'll try that one... I remember it in the arcades, but I don't think I ever played it.
  8. I tried it for some gun games too, and if you turn the sensitivity up it works pretty well except for the reloading. It's not really fast enough to keep going off screen to load.
  9. Off topic, but I was playing Space Harrier earlier and using the trackball for the analog flight stick controls and it worked really well. I may try it for some of the other flight stick games because it was pretty fun.
  10. Oh yeah, you are right... it had a weird spinner and a joystick. I remember I didn't like that game much in the arcade because you only got one life... lol. It seems to work fairly well with the 2 buttons to turn though. I was just playing some Heavy Barrel. It took like 3 stages to get put the gun together and you got to use it for like 10 seconds... haha.
  11. Forgotten Worlds was another one with these controls. It seems to work pretty well with the buttons for turning. Doesn't skip like Heavy Barrel.
  12. I've been doing the top buttons to rotate, but the seem to skip a notch pretty frequently, making it difficult to aim. I guess that may be the best option though.
  13. Yeah, you could do a joystick spinner combo, but you would still need to hit your buttons. With the original controls one hand controlled the movement and turning.
  14. Games like Heavy Barrel and Ikari Warriors had a joystick that moved the player but also the stick rotated 360 degrees to turn the player and aim your shots while you moved. Both of those games were pretty fun... there were some others with this control scheme too.
  15. For games with rotary joysticks (like Heavy Barrel) are you guys just mapping the left and right turns to a button? Anyone have a more creative/elegant solution for this? I'm using an X-Arcade... thanks for any tips you can offer.
  16. Oh ok... I see what you mean now.
  17. Doesn't LB have a separate snap and title folder in the snapshot folder?
  18. Oh, ok... I see that. Thanks guys. It doesn't look like it has an option for title screens though.
  19. I have never been able to get it running either, and not for lack of trying. Pretty sure I had the same problems you are having. Best of luck. I finally just gave up and used the actual standalone PPSSPP, but I would like to get the RA core working for the shaders, etc...
  20. Another question... Can the marquee art be imported as the "front" art in Launchbox so that it shows as the main picture, if you want to use that instead of the flyers? I'm actually getting pretty excited about this importer... I can't wait to get my mame games in LB.
  21. Antropus said Update that you might enjoy: - Control Type and Number of Buttons added as a Custom Fields -Kris I can't remember, but do the control type categories include 4-way and 8-way controls? This is related to another thread where we were talking about joysticks. There is a video where a guy is using servo joysticks in his cabinet and they automatically switch the 4 or 8 way restrictor in the joystick based on which type the frontend reports that the game requires. So he can select a game, the frontend tells the joysticks which type of game it is and it changes to 4 or 8 way controls. It's pretty insane. That's more of an advanced thing... but would be super cool to be able to do this. *edit* I just enlarged your pic above and saw that it shows 8-way controls... so that is awesome and please disregard. lol
  22. That sounds really awesome, but I have to stick to the basics. The 4-way joystick thing is an issue though.
  23. I was just happy to get a big joystick and trackball to use on my computer monitor... haha.
  24. Wow... that setup is absolutely awesome. Even just the cab is amazing.
  25. I hope not... lol.
