I am asking about the new default theme for LB (since there is no similar thread in the LB themes section). I would like to adjust the fade-in times for the images in the game details panel. If anyone can point this section of the .xaml out for me, it is most appreciated. Thanks. Again, this is regarding the new default theme for LB. *edit* Was told it may be in a "storyboard" related section. If anyone can point out the specifics, I appreciate it. Thanks again.

Great... thank you for that... I didn't even know about that thread. People could use this thread for feedback... or better yet, maybe start a "default specific" feedback and support thread in the launchbox themes for windows section. Probably better if it is started by you guys instead of me anyway. Thanks again. *edit* I think the reason I didn't know about that thread is I don't use Bigbox and I don't check that forum.

There are a lot of things I like about the new default theme... I can tell a lot of time went into it and it is much more polished than the old ones... but there are things most of us are going to want to customize and change. Because the changes are done in the .xaml files instead of gui options, most of us are not going to know how to make the changes we want to make... in fact, we are going to have to rely on a handful of people to customize themes for us, and they are still never going to meet everyone's personal preferences because everyone is different. My personal thoughts on a solution is to make far more gui options for changing themes, or a basic, minimal separate app for visual theming... I don't know, there are probably better solutions. Regardless, for now... people are going to want to know what lines to change in the .xaml to customize the things they want. I don't know of a thread to give feedback on the default theme, or to ask for support on customizing so I thought I would start one. Just leave a comment with what you want to customize in the new default theme (for other themes probably best to use existing support threads) and hopefully someone on the forums will be able to help out.

You guys could open a thread for feedback on the new default theme since it is such a major addition. I'm sure people would like to get in a conversation about it if you gave them a new thread instead of this one. Just a suggestion.

Thanks... the default theme is coming along nicely with these small changes. Thanks for listening to the feedback. I'm also wondering, along the same lines as the text, is there an option, or could one be included, to remove the top pane from the game and platform details bar? It looks good but it seems redundant to have the game or platform name twice right next to each other. I would like to see my images in that space. Also, I like the animated glare effect on the box fronts... that was a nice touch. Looks good.

On the new default theme, is it possible to disable the "hover" titles on the box front art (I think it's called the box content view)? I already have the title showing under the box art, so it seems redundant, and looks a bit cluttered. I wasn't sure if there was an existing option for that. Thanks.

I'm able to get the installation to download using the notification link (as mentioned, above), but the installation is stuck trying to close the running LB process and won't install. I tried closing it manually in the task manager, but it doesn't seem to work... have to cancel the installation. *edit* Ok, I got it installed. It was running as a background process, taking up a ton of memory... so killed that then used the update file that downloaded to the "updates" folder to install.

It appears you have to mouse over different segments of the panel to be able to continue scrolling through it, instead of just hovering over any place on the panel as you would expect, or as you would with other themes.

Guys, the new default theme looks really nice at a glance, but if I use my mouse wheel to scroll down the game details panel it scrolls just a bit and then freezes. If I use the scrollbar I can scroll all the way down. *edit* Actually, sorry... it seems it's also happening with the platform details pane.

Was the option to open the platform emulator without a game loaded recently removed from the games view context menu? *edit* Please disregard... one of my emulator .exe's was renamed and was causing this.

This theme is looking really cool! I really like the list view. I'm wondering if it could be two columns wide, to use more of that space? Also... another humble suggestion. The platform sidebar uses a lot of empty space, especially if the user doesn't have icons on. I'm wondering if it's possible to set it's minimum width much smaller? This theme is really coming along... I think it's going to be my go-to theme. Nice work. 👍

That's a good idea. Options are always the way to go. 👍

I've been using a slightly modified "Beats" for some time as my favorite theme. This one looks great, but I have one suggestion. The box with the titles, over the center overview box of game details seems like space that could be better used. What about removing that and enlarging the center overview box? Or maybe you had other future plans for the title box? Regardless, I think it is looking very cool.

I added a new game in the platform that had the issue with cropped, smaller images in the earlier beta and I noticed there is still a choppy scrolling issue if you have a game without an image in the mix.
-
Just confirming that scrolling is working nicely again.
-
I had a feeling you were going to ask that. Here is a video of me scrolling, smoothly down the details view. Instead of scrolling smoothly down like it normally would, it is jerking back and forth. This is only on the most recent beta, after the cropped images issue, from earlier, was fixed. 1312943661_LaunchBox2023-05-2321-06-49.mp4

I had left one of the improperly cropped, missing media, games to see if the update corrected it, and it does display properly after the beta 3 update, but there is strange scrolling behavior after it was corrected... everything jumbling and not smooth after the details pane updated.
-
The only example of missing media I had is still cropped in the new beta. It had clear logos showing as the images.
-
Yes, that's the one I meant.
-
This has probably already been noticed, but when a new game is added with no image, in the images view, it is cropped to the size of the games with images instead of resizing the row to fit the new game (like it has in the past).

It's nice to see some basic things in Launchbox, like the image views optimizations getting some attention. Please keep these (and organization) improvements coming. Thank you.

Here's the link to the tutorial: It's old but should still be the same. Just follow step by step. Keep in mind there is a new improved version of Daphne called Hypseus... a lot of the stuff in the tutorial will be the same or similar for Hypseus, so if you can get Daphne running you should be able to do it as well. This will get you started.

(Bulk) Add Additional Applications
Drybonz replied to JoeViking245's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
This plugin has been incredibly useful to me. Thank you. I agree that it would be useful "per platform"... instead of running it before the emulator, is it possible to have the app run before all games in the platform?... meaning you add it to all games, but then it auto adds them to any game added to that platform. The difference would be that you wouldn't have to keep manually adding the app each time you added an individual game to the platform. This would be a big time saver as well. Thanks for considering. -
Thanks... they look nice, and I'm sure it took you a long time to get all these set up.
