  1. I've started getting, just today, an error "requested action required elevation" when trying to launch games. Not sure if this is related to a beta issue or is something on my end. I don't know of anything that I have changed. Thanks.
  2. I posted a mini-tutorial about this yesterday.
  3. I used to set them up with RocketLauncher, but lately I have been doing it as an additional app in Launchbox. This takes a little setup work, but since Launchbox is probably never going to support U360 mapping, this is probably the easiest way. You just have to have the command-line parameters field set up to match the mapping you want for that game (see my screenshot)... and they have to match how your .ugc files are named. To add these to a group of games in bulk, use JoeViking245's bulk additional app plugin. Make playlists using auto-populate for the different control types and then the bulk additional app plugin to add the UGC app to all apps in each of the playlists. There might be a couple stragglers that you have to do manually such as Qbert.
  4. Yes, the error dialog only stayed up for a short time, and it was only an annoyance. However, your little script has fixed the problem for me. Thanks for your help.
  5. I get the same error block exiting TeknoParrot games from desktop Launchbox.

    Mame

It sounds like he is launching retroarch, the emulator, through launchbox, but not attaching it to any roms, so it's just pulling up retroarch. Does that sound like what is happening, bitoldschool? If that is the case you may not have run the MAME rom importer yet?
  7. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it would be handy and convenient to be able to right click on a platform, for instance, and disable/enable additional apps.
  8. Is there a way to turn that off for all additional apps for a platform, if you have multiple different ones?
  9. Is there a way to "pause" or temporarily turn off your additional apps to launch the vanilla version of your emulator if you need to, without having to remove the additional apps, and then add them all over again?
  10. This would be a great improvement for anyone with a controller that sends keyboard presses (which is common, like X-Arcade) if you could map your buttons for Launchbox.
  11. To be clear, my arcade controller sends button presses as numbers, letters, etc from the keyboard. I am not able to enter these presses on this screen so that I can use my controller to operate Launchbox: I would like to be able to select and start games with my controller. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  12. My arcade controller sends keyboard presses from the buttons. How can I map these to control LB? It appears that it will only accept controller buttons. Thanks for the help.
  13. There's a "default with logos" launchbox theme that has a great collection of logo icons for platforms and categories.
  14. I said twice, I agree to disagree, which means no one is right. I will also add, that over the years, I have noticed that any criticism brings out a very adversarial attitude on these forums. I wish that wasn't the case.
  15. You have a whole forum with people offering ideas. All the ideas are right here. I've already said... I get it. You like the poll. You will argue with anything I say... I'm not interested in arguing with you. I've already said I'm willing to just disagree. I don't want to fight with you.
  16. My suggestion would be to do it like most other companies (most do not use a voting system for features/improvements) and interact with your customers, gather ideas and make informed, intelligent decisions, as developers, about what would make the product better. The voting system doesn't do this and doesn't allow that kind of interaction. Guys, listen... I know that anything I say about this you are just going to argue. I get it. I didn't bring it up to start a fight. I'm perfectly willing to just agree to disagree.
  17. I agree with a lot of this. I also have a love-hate relationship with Launchbox. My main complaint has always been the social-media-style "like" voting on what features and improvements will be added, and person-to-person discussion about what makes sense and would really improve the program generally go out the window. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people's input dismissed on these forums with the same comment "vote on it". I was told that Big Box pays the bills and that is why it gets the attention. I tend not to say much about any of this because it's just ignored, but I happened to read your post and tend to agree with a lot of it. I would like to see more organizational and functional improvement suggestions get some attention, but they never will through the voting system. This is proven over the years. All this said, LaunchBox really has a lot going for it, which is why I purchased it, and I certainly do love a lot of things about it.
  18. You will not only want to check out Hypseus, but also Google for HD rips of DL/DL2/SA, and you will find what you want. (I see Sundogak already mentioned this)
  19. Thanks. I'll take a look at the theme.
  20. Does this work for the U360's as well? I have been looking for a simple solution for the auto-mapping. Thanks.
  21. Is it possible to limit the number of screenshots showing in the game details panel? For instance, I have multiple arcade cabinet pics for many games... can I have just one display without manually weeding through thousands of pictures? Thanks for the help.
  22. Now that I'm using RetroArch for all my MAME-ing, I'm not quite sure how to set up auto-mapping for my U360 joysticks. I used to use something like this Rocketlauncher add-on with standalone MAME. Is it possible to use this or something like it as a "app" in LaunchBox? Can someone walk me through the steps for something like this? I would really like to be done with RocketLauncher. It would be great if Launchbox could integrate this ahk script for U360 support, but I'm ok with using a third party solution if that's the only way possible... just need some help with the specifics. Thanks for any help you can offer. I appreciate it.
  23. Not sure... mine doesn't look pixelated. Maybe a low res rip? Remember, these are rips of laserdisc, from the era of VHS tapes, so they aren't going to look like bluray movies. There are HD rips of DL and Space Ace out there if you want to search them up.
  24. The command for scanlines, if I remember correctly, is just -scanlines... at least that is what it is in Hypseus now. I have to warn you, though, the scanlines look horrible. Nothing like we are used to in the various shaders we use now.
  25. Thanks for this fix... it would totally freeze my system up.
