  1. Will the MAME rom set importer avoid importing duplicates when a set update is released? I want to only get the new and changed roms, but the last step of the import lists all the roms in the set, making me think it's going to allow duplicates.
  2. Thanks... I'll try it out. We need a drop down box or something on that screen to change a per-game core. *edit* Actually, it looks like your command line worked with just the core part (-L D:\Arcade\Emulators\Retroarch\cores\snes9x_libretro.dll)
  3. How do you assign an emulator (specifically RA core) that is not the default for that platform? In other words, I want to place a game/games in my arcade platform, but have it run in Dolphin (core), for example, instead of MAME (RA MAME is the default). I keep running into LB wanting to change the default for the whole platform instead of just assigning it to the single game. Thanks for the help.

    MAMEui Dead

The message at the MAMEui site says it is no longer maintained as of .248. Has anyone migrated to a version of MAME with UI that they can recommend as a good replacement? Thanks for the help.
  5. It's a pretty useful field for sorting when it comes to arcade though. Especially if you are working on bezels, etc... It used to be available through the long defunct Lightspeed mod, which of course no longer works. I can understand if you don't want to add it, but it would be useful in LB as a organizational tool. It's unlikely people will upvote organizational features over things like 3D box images, etc...
  6. The raster/vector info is listed directly in MAME. If you open MAMEui64, look at the "type" column. Is there any way to use this info to update LB with these categories?
  7. Is it possible to sort arcade by raster and vector? I couldn't find a way to do this through the filters.
  8. Sounds great. Screenshots look awesome.
  9. Can they be disabled in LB, or do you have to alter the theme?
  10. This theme looks really promising in the screenshots. I notice that there are pics with the game titles under the boxes and some without. Will it be possible to toggle it with the default LB options?
  11. Oh, 3D cabinets for arcade would be really sweet... I'm sure there's no such images floating about, but still...
  12. This sounds just like a problem I posted about in the "troubleshooting" forum a month or two ago, but didn't get any replies.
  13. If you are an old school guy that played these games with a spinner originally, you are definitely going to be a lot happier with the real thing. With the spinner in that spot you can comfortable left hand it, and then map a button or two on the other side for that game if you want to. Works fine for me. Set your spinner down on the console and try it in different spots until you find just where you want, before you mark and cut.
  14. I have a tankstick that I modded and I drilled and put the spinner above the P1 buttons, left of the start buttons. The layout spacing is slightly different than yours... not sure if it would work, but might.
  15. Ah ok... I didn't know this. I'm sure I just need to drop my ini in there and try again. Thanks. *edit* It looks like the set in the LB directory is 06/2022 which should be fine for my .244 set.
  16. A lot of stuff seems to get through the filters on the MAME import too. It seems like there is always some manual cleanup to do. *edit* It looks like the LB database is actually using the same files as the "official" set, so I will probably just back those up and download them from LB database to make thing easy.
  17. Sure, it works... but you would have to manually check thousands of roms and manually rename the mis-matches. I think part of this might come from LB MAME importer bringing in roms that aren't the optimal or parent roms. One example I just noticed is Gryzor (which is a Contra variant) being imported instead of Contra. There could be other problems, but I think the main game file name is supposed to match the art file names (in theory).
  18. A couple of quick examples... Bionic Commando, game is bionicc1, and art file is (as named in the "official" MAME art) bionicc. Another one is Berzerk... game files is berzerk, art file is berzerka. These are just a couple that don't show the art in LB, but there are a bunch of other ones.
  19. Ok... so, yes... within the LB interface. Yes, I know the directory has to be changed... I have already pointed to the proper folder in the platform options. Most of the marquees are showing properly, but the problem is with the ones, apparently that don't exactly match, in file name, the game file name that LB has imported.
  20. I'm using the official MAME art for my arcade set, and noticed that a lot of marquees, for instance, aren't being picked up in LB... I'm assuming because the file that LB imported doesn't match the name (ex. aliensu and aliensj, aliensw, etc) of the art file exactly, even though LB is pointed to the proper directory for the marquees. Is there an easy way to get LB to pick up and use these art files without having to manually go through thousands of arcade games and do it manually? Thanks for the help.
  21. Thanks... I did that actually. There were a few conflicts, but I think I got them worked out. At least I'm learning a few small things about how these work.
  22. It's a nice option to have as an end user.
  23. Developer, release date, file, play mode, last played, region, etc...
  24. Thanks... I was trying to get the text under the thumbnails. I didn't realize it had to be coded in the theme for that to work. Sorry for the confusion.
  25. Thanks. I guess I was asking if the there was a way the user's selections in the general LB options (under game details) could control which categories show in the game details panel, or if the theme overrides those and would have to be altered to show the categories that the user might want.
