You have to put Switch and Switch Dark directories in the themes folder...Move them out of that Switch_v1.0.1 folder. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

@GWOZDZilla Sure you can. Open LaunchBox\Data\BigBoxSettings.xml and change it to 0, effectively setting it back to "none".

Did you download the theme from the forum downloads page or this thread? The one in this thread is only for 1280x800. Also, I just tested on my own machine: if display scaling (Windows display options menu) is set above 100% they will not line up. @neil9000 this may have been the original issue on your tablet since I'm sure the display scaling is above 100% (being a tablet)

Try this, drop it in the LaunchBox\Themes\Switch\Views folder and overwrite the old one. Let me know how it works. PlatformWheel1FiltersView.xaml
-
Yes, that was part of the edits I was making. Should be good to go now.

@neil9000 @DOS76 Here's the edits for 1280x800, both the light and dark version. I tested it on my main PC at 1280x800 (lowered from 1920x1080, so it was kinda blurry) and also on my MacBook Pro under Parallels (which happens to run scaled to that resolution, so it was nice and crisp on the Retina display) and everything looks good. Let me know if there are any quirks on your tablets and I'll see if I can iron them out. Also, the video snap has been replaced with a screenshot as @neil9000 requested. Switch_v1.0.1_1280x800.zip

Also, the dark version is finished. I'll upload it tomorrow when I get to work.
-
@DOS76 I'm hoping to have it done tomorrow. If not it will be next week for sure. I only have a few more things to do on it. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Switch Theme View File Switch v1.0.3 BigBox Theme 8/30/2017 Display scaling over 100% will cause alignment issues with the platform wheel banner images. Switch Changelog: v1.0.3 (8/30/2017): - moved the GrilaControlLibrary.dll to the theme Plugins folder, which is an added feature since the theme release (the .dll will still need to be un-blocked before launching BigBox) - fixed the large outline bug reported by @jamesclarke555 (thanks again for reporting it to me) v1.0.2 (5/2/2017): - redesigned Text Games View (thanks for the inspiration @NahuelDS) v1.0.1 (4/21/2017): - Dark version added v1.0.0 (4/20/2017): - Initial release Theme Description ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Switch is a very lightweight, clean theme that was designed to be as close to the original UI as possible. There isn't much artwork in this one: banners for the platform wheel view, covers for the box game view, and a video snap in the game details screen so it should run pretty smooth on low spec systems. It includes a custom control library that I've started to build that contains the battery status indicator as well as a separate 12 and 24 hour clock (since we can't change the format of the built-in one without changing Windows settings). Theme Notes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Requires the file GrilaControlLibrary.dll to be un-blocked before launching BigBox. Make sure to do this for both the light and dark versions of the theme. * Utilizes the font Oxygen-Regular, which is included in the root theme folder. Install it before running this theme. * Designed for 1920x1080. I can't guarantee it will work at any other resolutions (really only the platform wheel), even in the same aspect ratio, because of the margin that is applied to the wheel to get it off center. The box game view and all text views are NOT affected by this and will work at any resolution, although text spacing and some other misc. elements may not look as perfect as they do at 1080. * Included is a sound pack for BigBox. Move it from the theme directory to LaunchBox\Sounds and select it in the BigBox options menu. It can also be downloaded here https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/467-switch/ * I've included some extra buttons and controller images along with the .PSD and .AI files to edit them if you feel the need. The extras can be swapped out to fit your system by simply copying them from the extras folder to the core image folder and renaming them. The file names have to match what's in the XAML, so you'll need to overwrite or delete the ones you are changing. Filenames are controller.png, play_button.png, and back_button.png. Alternate Versions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1280x720 GPDWin focused version (video replaced with screenshot): Switch_v1.0.1_1280x720.zip 1280x800 Tablet focused version (video replaced with screenshot): Switch_v1.0.1_1280x800.zip Submitter Grila Submitted 04/20/2017 Category Big Box Custom Themes

I'm working on building a custom control library that can be used when creating themes and here's a little preview of a Battery indicator control that I made. It calls to PowerStatus and PowerLineStatus and updates in real-time just like any battery indicator on your phone, Windows, etc. It has a lot of customization available such as border color, border thickness, progress bar color, battery percent text visible/hidden, battery percent text font, color, and font weight etc. etc. It also will show a plug next to it on the right when your device is plugged in and the battery is less than 100%. The will then hide once the device is unplugged or the battery is fully charged. It may not be useful to all, but for those of you who run BigBox on a Laptop or Tablet it may come in handy. I mainly just made it for this theme because there's one there on the original UI. I have a few more in the works but I need to get back to this theme for now.

No, it's using the regular ImageVideoView because the BackgroundView stretches to fill whatever container it's in without regards to aspect ratio. I've never had a problem with video alignment issues on any of my machines so I can't speak of that, sorry.
-
Also @neil9000 and @DOS76 what resolution do you run your tablet(s) at? The reason I ask is because for the platform wheel to be off center like it is on the original Switch UI, I had to do some major fuckery and it doesn't work at anything other that 1920x1080. That being said, I already have planned to do another more "standard wheel" like in my Nes Mini theme that will be compatible at lower resolutions. But, if I know the resolutions you are running I can make the off-center wheel specifically for that resolution to keep the aesthetics (which would just be a drop-in replacement file).

It's a video, but I'm open to suggestions if screenshots are preferred.

Here's the Text Games View for the light version. I'm not entirely happy with it so i may re-visit the drawing board on this one.
-
-
Sure thing, let me know if you want anything changed and I'll edit it before posting it here.
-
Something along these lines? Of course, the font family and color can be changed as can the beginning and ending opacity of the gradients.
-
A little progress on the dark version today. I also completed the mock-up for the text based views in Photoshop so tomorrow I hope to get those added into the mix.
-
Thanks a ton @spektor56, I was on the right path with user controls but I was missing a few small details. Seeing your example has cleared it all up for me. I appreciate it!
-
Awesome spektor. Could you upload it here so I can check it out? This will open up a ton of possibilities for my themes. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I appreciate the kind words @vsilvalopes and @Jason Carr, but I'm perfectly fine contributing my work to this amazing project for free. The job I have now pays good and let's me do whatever i please as long as things are running smoothly for them. That's how I have so much time to work on stuff for LaunchBox.

The only thing I'm changing to get it to work is in Windows. Control Panel --> Region --> Short Time and Long Time settings via the drop down.
