Simple things like manuals, original box art and concept art images are the bare minimum to include. Cut content is something I like to delve into and I welcome any collection that includes those. Developer commentary in audio form can be interesting , but then I really have to care about the game(s) enough to listen to them. If there's a prototype/beta of a game that's vastly different from the final product, then it makes sense to include that as well if possible. I do agree with the interactive museum aspect, those are neat if done right.

I accidentally voted for without bezels, but in fact I do make an exception with handheld systems (sometimes including shaders) and arcade games (occasionally, not always). Besides those systems, I don't use them at all.

One more bug: Can't click submit button when adding regions to existing alternate names or even when adding completely new ones.
-
Good catch, didn't even realize to search for it before posting.

1) Sometimes the moderation queue shows that there are more than 1 changes in queue (I've seen ranges between 1-18), but suddenly I get the queue empty page. Maybe related to images and how the system counts their value as more than one? 2) When trying to remove a release date from unreleased games that were never published for sale (mostly prototypes), the changes made don't show up in my Changes Status page. Is it not possible to have an empty release date field anymore? 3) Another possible bug might be with this entry: https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/details/153362 - Now, maybe someone has changed the name back to what it was but I doubt it. Here's the proof for the accepted change:
-
Because I saw them myself while moderating.
-
There were about 10 submissions for that game, so I guess that's the reason they got rejected, maybe assuming that people are adding multiple duplicates.
-
Nope, just hope that it'll get rejected.

LaunchBox Games Database Update - April 24, 2024
Jakatsu replied to faeran's topic in News and Updates
Some nice changes and additions, thank you! Only small quirk seems to be that when moderating an overview update, the text is in a narrow area which in turn forces you to scroll a fair amount, especially if either of the overviews are somewhat lengthy. But this shouldn't happen too often, so it's a minor inconvenience. -
This could use a better quality logo, would be greatly appreciated. Current one for comparison. ECOGEAR PowerWorm Championship should also be a part of the logo.
-
No. You'll just have to submit the fixed image again if the first one gets accepted.
-
Yes it's possible, but your default rom has to be the one that is supported by RetroAchievements. This I don't know, since I couldn't find a way to do this.
-
I assume that the Spanish version is your default ROM? If so, that would explain it since Spanish version isn't supported, as you can see from here: https://retroachievements.org/linkedhashes.php?g=724 In this case, you'll have to change your default version to the USA, Europe one if you want to see the achievement icon.

Moderator Guidelines and Contributor Rules
Jakatsu replied to Jason Carr's topic in News and Updates
There are tooltips which explain every field, but they're only visible when you're adding a new game to the DB. -
Great theme, been using this for a month and really like it, thank you! Just noticed one possible bug, "Arrange by" doesn't work in details and list view, it always defaults to A-Z no matter what you choose. Or is it just supposed to be that way, haven't really those two views before. Edit: Also in list view, when you select a random game with Ctrl+Alt+Q, would be nice if the list scrolled down/up to the chosen game. Now it just stays in one place, and doesn't move at all to focus to the chosen game like it does in image and details view.

LaunchBox Games Database Updates for March 1st, 2023
Jakatsu replied to Jason Carr's topic in News and Updates
Apparently removing a release date and leaving the field empty doesn't work. Tried this with some of the unreleased prototype entries, and the change didn't show in my Changes Status page, so I assume it doesn't come up in the moderation que either. Also, clicking the Genre field doesn't show the list of genres until you type in a letter. -
LaunchBox Games Database Updates for March 1st, 2023
Jakatsu replied to Jason Carr's topic in News and Updates
It seems that there's plenty of duplicate games being generated at the moment. This is just one example, at least five other games for Amstrad CPC platform alone have multiple duplicates, up to six per game. -

Just noticed one more issue. Your Changes and Your Moderations numbers do not change, even though I've done plenty of moderation and submitted some changes. -

I see, well that explains it then. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have a similar problem with three platforms: Famicom Disk System, Wonderswan Color and Neo Geo Pocket Color. Is it because RetroAchievements lumps NES + FDS games in one category, same with Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket? I mean, it shouldn't matter how you name your platforms in LB, since the scan looks for specific hashes, right? I have separate platforms for each of these systems. All files are in .7z format.

@Lukeyboy67 Have you tried native rendering resolution to see if the glitches still appear, or just when upscaling the resolution? You might also want to update your display driver to the latest one, just to see if that makes any difference. I remember having a similar problem couple of years ago after a Windows update, and installing the latest display driver fixed it for me that time.

Retroachiviements SUBSET - HACKED ROM - DEMO - PROTOTYPE and so on
Jakatsu replied to xevious1974's topic in Contributions
Oh I see, you are adding only the subset stuff which requires patching a game plus some demos. Should've read the title more carefully first. Well yeah, those should be fine since they are hacked versions.
