  1. Some interesting features there, good stuff. Voted.
  2. IMO since we prefer Western releases over Japanese ones, it should go like this: NA > EU > Japan. So in this case you would add Gunner's Heaven as alternate name for Rapid Reload and delete the Japanese entry. If we used whichever title the game has originally, we'd have a lot more Japanese titles as the main one.
  3. I'd personally go with NA or US but you can just leave the region empty if you don't feel comfortable with that. I've seen unofficially translated English titles use mostly those two or in some cases World.
  4. Japanese one should be used for those platforms that received a release only in Japan. Same as above, if a game was released only in one country/region, use that name. In this particular case, Rockman & Forte since the game was only released in Japan. You can add translated names as alternative, so in this example you would use Majuu Ou as the main title and King of Demons as an alternate title. This guideline hasn't been updated for a while, but you'll get a better idea how we go about with naming conventions etc.
  5. This definitely needs work, but first and foremost we'd have to decide what naming standard to use, for example should Apogee Software be just that or should we follow, let's say MobyGames naming standard and use Apogee Software, Ltd. Then again, the only way to get rid of these would be to not allow users to create their own dev/pub names like one of the four above, but choose from confirmed list of names that have been verified and locked for modification. So you would type "Apogee" to find the publisher, and you could only choose the one verified and confirmed name for the company instead of creating a new one by typing Apogee Soft etc.
  6. It really is a shame to lose such a devoted and helpful staff member. All the best in your future endeavors and take care, I hope you'll still be around here from time to time.
  7. Would any of you mind replacing Spanish overview text with English, while you're going through the entries? I don't see any reason not to.
  8. English is the preferred language, so yes you can. For example, I've done it to a couple of games that had overviews in German or Spanish.
  9. Indeed, what a difference in speed! Before this I usually had plenty of time to do other stuff after accepting/rejecting a submission and waiting for a new one, but now everything moves at lighting speed. So awesome.
  10. I hope I wasn't the only one who rejected that one. Maybe some of the mods are on autopilot mode and just hit accept at everything. Would be nice indeed to be able to revert changes you've made that have wrong images/label/info.
  11. Me personally, I love the original game and this new version has been on my radar for quite some time. Definitely a day one purchase for me when it's released for PC. Very cool, very cool.
  12. We are waiting for category check box for rom hacks to be added to Games Database. More info here in section 3 of Submission & Moderator Guidelines which is linked in this pinned topic.
  13. Good find, I marked the "Aladdin" entry for deletion. In the future you can just mark duplicates for deletion, moderators will handle the rest.
  14. Yeah, apparently I shadowed you with the Game Gear from 0-9 to Z, haha. Mainly just tried to fill any missing fields and add artwork/screenshots where necessary. BTW, did you make all the clear logos or got them somewhere? Either way, nice job uploading them because now my Game Gear wheel looks considerably better.
  15. This is great, good jorb! When moderating changes, any chance we could see which game is getting the alternate title, just like when moderating changes to everything else. At the moment you can see the alternate name and region, but not the actual db entry which is getting the name. Edit: Not sure if related, but I'm moderating a new game entry and it has one alternate name which is fine, but there are four separate "Images" sections and they all have the same pictures. Haven't seen that before.
  16. I'm getting a Runtime Error when trying to edit Rolling Thunder 2 (Genesis). Just trying to change Cooperative field to Yes. Edit: Here's two more - C So! (SG-1000) and 4th & Inches (Amiga)
  17. Well, I wasn't sure if I should reply since it probably looks like I'm tooting my own horn, but your words are much appreciated. I did the Atari Lynx stuff, since I just wanted to fill the missing info. Others had done great work with adding all images, which helped a lot. I just used the usual sources, MobyGames, GameFAQ, Wikipedia and in this case, also AtariAge. I also agree with Amiga and DOS submissions, people that are doing those are submitting some quality stuff.
  18. It was suggested here, because duplicate games weren't being removed from DB even after being approved for deletion. If the bug is fixed now, then there's really no need to do so anymore.
  19. You can indeed change the platform, no need to delete since it's not a duplicate. Just hover the mouse to "Platform" bracket and you'll see a pencil icon appear, then click that and choose the correct platform from the dropdown menu.
  20. Fixed for me, thanks.
  21. Same problem here. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a specific game db entry that's causing this. I remember getting the same message from one entry in the database and this happened when I tried to submit info update for some of the missing fields (unfortunately can't remember which entry), and forgot to report it back then.
