  1. I use Daphne to emulate LaserDisc arcade games. For the LB/BB Daphne platform, I don't have an assigned emulator and instead run a separate bath file for each game with parameters specific to that game. Everything works well EXCEPT the game window is not active/selected after the batch file exits. So I can see the video and hear the audio but my controller inputs are ignored. If I use the mouse and left-click on the windows, the window is active/selected and my controller inputs work. Is there any batch file command or AHK script that would automatically activate the Daphne window so that my mouse is not needed to get every game playing? Thanks in advance! Scott
  2. When I import multiple games, the speed is fine both for EmuMovies and Launchbox Database. It seems to affect only single game import or editing of already imported single games.
  3. Thanks Retro808 - it occurs when I am adding metadata, images, and videos to imported files that were not correctly recognized or unrecognized at import. So I am editing one game at a time, fixing the title and Launchbox ID, and then downloading media. The Launchbox Games Database/Storefront part of the media lookup and download is almost instantaneous, but it then takes a long time for the EmuMovies lookup to occur ("Querying EmuMovies..."), often up to a minute per game. The download of the Emumovies files is a bit slow too, at least compared to the Launchbox Games Database.
  4. This has become a bigger problem every release of LB. LB is now very fast downloading local and LB images and metadata, but the downloads of media from Emumovies are taking up to a minute per game just to get queued, and another minute or so to download the actual files. It absolutely kills the speed of LB and needs to be addressed.
  5. I’m sorry, but my AWFUL internet service is providing me 0.1 mbps upload speed and 1 gbps download. My upload speed is literally 10,000 slower than my download speed. Its been this way for two days, and it effectively prevents me from uploading anything, even a 3 MB screenshot. Suffice it say that, the background of LB is black. Always. White fonts on a black background, boxes and screenshots on a black background.
  6. Yes - you are correct. It is LaunchBox that I'm having the blank black background with. It is the main LaunchBox screen where the titles and boxes/screenshots/banners are displayed. BigBox looks and operates perfectly. I haven't (knowingly) changed any of the display settings in LaunchBox Thanks.
  7. The background of my LaunchBox is solid black. I have gone under Tools --> Options --> Visuals --> Backgrounds --> Defaults and have chosen a custom background image (jpeg), but the background stays black. I have toggled all of the Media --> Background Priorities OFF and it makes no difference. How can I set it up so that the background image that I choose is always the background image in LaunchBox?
  8. In my experience, the ParaLLel core is amazing and better than the Mupen core. Try them both.

    Yuzu Issues

You don’t need any additional parameters to run Yuzu from Launchbox. Check under the Tools - Manage Emulators in LB. Check your startup screen settings for Yuzu. Make sure that “Hide all windows that are not in exclusive fullscreen mode” is unchecked.
  10. Good points all - may be more difficult and less helpful than I thought. Thanks for the replies
  11. Good points. It would save those that can run these emulators, some of which don't require high-end systems (CEMU), from trying to run known incompatible titles. And, of course, over time the average emulation setup will get better and the efficiency of these emulators will improve.
  12. I'm no coder, but the compatibility pages for these emulators are regularly updated and could be polled by the LB software (when requested) to allow sorted game lists. Things like ratings and metatdata change constantly and are updated by LB. The compatibility pages do not distinguish between compatibility for nightly/canary versions and stable versions. Nothing silly about it.

  14. Would it be possible to sort newer console system game lists by the individual game compatibility for the emulator used to emulate that system? Systems that I am referring to include RPSC3, Ryjinx, Yuzu, CEMU, Citra, and CXBX-R. All of these emulators maintain compatibility pages that list games as playable or broken (with various in-between degrees of compatibility). It would be wonderful to sort game lists based on compatibility data. Thanks for the best front-end that I've ever used!
  15. Retro88 & CDBlue - Thank you both very much. As soon as I get home from work I will test both of your suggestions. Interestingly, I mapped the q key to quit (and the p key to pause) in byuu and tried sending the q key by way of the exit AHK script to exit the emulator. The script that CDBlue uses is different than the one that I cobbled together by looking at other scripts, so I'm hopeful it will work for me too. Is the pause funtionality in LB/BB also mapped to a certain key (like "p") or is it more complicated to tie in to? My pause controller combo does nothing in byuu.
  16. Hi all, The new byuu emulator is excellent and easy to startup with Launchbox. However, I am unable to exit byuu with my controller or the escape button despite trying multiple different AHK scripts. I can map the quit and pause hotkeys through byuu, but byuu will not accept the escape key for a hotkey for exiting. I want to be able to exit the emulator with my controller like I do on all of the other emulators. Does anyone know how to make the controller mapped exit sequence work for byuu? Same issue with LB pause.... Thanks in advance!
  17. I have used the /load command line flag, combined with the “Use exclusive full screen mode” setting, with a video resolution of “Automatic (default)”. This will sometimes work, but after one or more successes in LB/BB, it stops working. When it stops working, if I double click a game in LB, there is a small pause where my arrow icon turns to a spinning circle icon, but CXBX never loads and after a few seconds I am back to LB with an arrow icon. I have to reset the default settings of CXBX and delete the CXBX Reloaded folder in AppData to get everything working again. The only other setting that I had changed is “Allow Admin Privilege”. I don’t run CXBX as an administrator, but choosing this setting lets me skip warnings about “XBE Signature Failed.” I am running only known working games that I have run multiple times successfully with CXBX. When I run the same titles outside of LB, running CXBX, choosing an .xbe file, loading it, starting emulation (F5), stopping emulation (F6), and then closing the emulator (ALT-F4 or just closing the window by clicking the top right corner), I don’t have the same problems. As long as I am meticulous in starting and stopping the emulator in this fashion, CXBX continues to work. I suspect that LB/BB are not shutting down CXBX completely or correctly, although I can’t find an open CXBX.exe with Task Manager when I have the problems. I’m stumped. Any ideas?
  18. Many thanks JoeViking245, Lordmonkus, and LukeUsher! LukeUsher, you’re the guy responsible for CXBX-R, correct? Amazing to finally see a playable XBox emulator. Thank you.
  19. I’m using the latest development build. If I run CXBX-R from LB or BB, passing the location of the default.xbe for the game, it will load the game into CXBX-R but it does not run the title.
  20. When running CXBX-Reloaded from LB/BB, I am able to load games (default.xbe), but I need an AHK script that will do the following, after the game is loaded: Pass keypress F5 to the emulator (starts emulation) Pass keypress ALT-RETURN to the emulator (goes full screen) There are no command line arguments that will do the same. Also, when quitting CXBX-Reloaded, I need an AHK script which will do the following: Pass keypress F6 to the emulator (stops emulation) Pass keypress ALT-F4 to the emulator (closes/exits the emulator) Many thanks in advance!

  22. Suggest using MAME instead of MESS... newer code and fewer bugs. Same syntax.
