Go to Launchbox menu ▸ Tools ▸ Manage ▸ Emulators ▸ Retroarch and browse for the new Application Path. Easy peasy.

Theme Videos for Some Platforms Copying Nlash's Style
View File
Some theme videos for platforms that didn't had one with this cool style created by a Hyperspin user known as Nlash.
To add them to you setup, download and extract the zip files in your LaunchBox folder (overwrite if needed).

You can download the rest of the available theme videos here:

Any tips on how to enable specific patches for the individual games? When I launch games from the RPCS3 interface directly, it remembers what patches I have enabled for the specific game.
But when I launch the game through Launchbox, it does launch (hooray), but none of the patches are enabled, so there might be issues with bloom for example. But launching the game direct from RPC3, it remembers the individual patch settings.
Must be an issue on your end, patches are loaded on my rpcs3 when launched through LaunchBox (tested GOW3 with the "Skip intro" patch).

BigBox uses Windows Media Player or VideoLan to play videos, the latter is recommended because it doesn't need external codecs for some video formats. you can change in BigBox options which one you want to use.

You have more categories than I have games in my setup.
I personally have less than 2800 games total, so I guess more than that is too much for me.

Can't be done.
Just kidding, in the LaunchBox/Themes/Unified/Views folder, open any view that has wheels (ie Wheel4GamesView.xaml, don't forget to backup any file before editing it) try changing the following variables in the "Wheels" section (about line 250):
- CurveAmount="-1.5"
- CameraZPosition="2.8"
- VisibleCount="10"
- PageSize="11"
- Spacing="0.575"
This is an example you can tinker with the numbers yourself if you want different results.

Remember to also edit the updates.json (use notepad++) for each game that has an update file, it won't be fully portable otherwise.

Disc dumps inside zip files is an awful alternative when you can get them in chd format instead.

By the way, how are you displaying the 3D image in a transparent box, is it theme related? It looks great. Mine shows in a black box as in the image here.
I use the Beats by C-Beats Theme:

The new 3D Boxes look cool, I like this new feature!
The only problem I see is that for some reason it uses your image priorities settings for deciding what image type to use instead of what it should actually use, in my case I use the Reconsctucted Box as the number 1 priority which already has the box border, in some platform that ends up looking awful. Here's and example:
Left image is what it looks like for me, right one is how it should look.
Wouldn't make more sense in this case to ignore user's preferences and pick the proper image type, or have a separate setting?

Weird, you shouldn't have those weird mismatched images if you download you media only from the database. Have you been using image packs or something outside of the DB?

Yes, you can add it like any other platform you have for a long time now.

Oh boy if you think the SNES looks bad, wait until you see the Atari games...

Hi neil. I'm sorry for bumping this old thread, but I'm having the same problem and for the life of me, can't get LB to launch my Saturn games with the Mednafen core. I saw your suggestion to add the "hw" to the command line, but I don't understand.....where exactly do you add this line? I tried adding it next to the "-f" under the "Extra Command-Line Parameters" column, but nothing happens and the game won't launch. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm desperately trying to get LB to launch RA with this darn Mednafen(Beetle) core.
After making sure your games work on Retroarch without Launchbox, go to Launchbox's Menu -> Tools -> Manage... -> Emulators -> Retroarch -> Associated Platforms
On Sega Saturn click the core column and select the Saturn's Mednafen core (mednafen_saturn_libretro).
It should look like this:
-
I'm currently on my first playthrough of Luigi's Mansion on the Retroarch core and it runs as good as the standalone emulator. The Dolphin core compatibility it's pretty close to Dolphin nowadays.
-
Add the pdfs files as an additional app and they will work like a manual.
-
I only use MAME for Arcade games (I actually use the Arcade64 fork build), any home system that is worth a damn have a better emulator than MESS or MAME, the ones that don't are obscure platforms that are not worth it in my opinion.

Take the clock out, a program that is for having fun and killing time doesn't need a constant reminder of the time.

Which theme and view are you using in this instance?
Do you still get the same crash when using either of the default themes?
I'm using the Unified Theme, but it happens with any themes, since Beta 5, changing the Default View to anything other than Platforms And Platforms Category crashes BigBox and makes it unable to boot afterwards.
Update: Beta 7 fixed the issue in the paragraph above. It's working perfectly now. 👍
-
I think I've found the cause of my issue, it was the All Games view, when you set that view to be the startup view BB stops responding, and if you had it to start on All Games before updating to Beta 5 and 6, BB fails to boot.
Also, on Beta 4 when you press escape and you are in the All Games view (and have it as the default view), the options menu appears but controls don't work, you have to press escape again before you can navigate it. -
Nothing changed, same issues in beta 6.
