Well taking Wipeout as an example, there is the futuristic racing game on the PlayStation 1, but there is also a Wii game called that that is a comedy game show type game. SteamGridDB doesn't do any searching against platform, only name, so both would come up if you search for "Wipeout". Currently it matches against the incorrect one in this case. Another example would be WWF Royal Rumble which matches against both a SNES game and a Dreamcast game. Very different games with exactly the same name. If I manually were to search for it (rather than through a batch) it would give me the list of fuzzy matches so I can select one. If I choose the wrong one by accident, the plugin currently lets me change it. If the batch search matches against one, it does not allow me to. This is why I'm calling it a bug rather than a feature request. It's just allowing the same functionality that currently exists for manual searches to exists on fuzzy matched batch searches.

Correct. I understand why this happens and that's fine, it's just, once it has been matched to a title it is currently not possible to change. Thanks for the response regarding the other requests. Totally understand about the limitations. Thanks again. -edit- I just realised that the feature I'm asking for here actually exists already on games that are scraped manually, but if they are automatically matched the "pick a different title" button isn't present. That's basically what I'm asking for so I guess this is more a bug than feature request

A couple of bugs I've found: When trying to bring up the scraper dialog when there is an unrecognised character in the title (in this case: /) it won't open Maybe related, but two of my platforms crash Launchbox when trying to bulk scrape. Individual scrapes seem to be working. Haven't tracked down if a specific game is causing the problem or not but the two problem platforms are N64 and Sega Saturn. Here's the crash dump:

@JoeViking245 Just testing the latest version and this is much much more useful for me now - thanks! If there were a couple of additions I'd request they would be: If an image already exists in that slot, have an extra button for Replace Image, just so we can avoid having to add, close, edit the metadata then delete the one we don't want. Have official steam art load as the first option (I actually didn't test this yet so maybe it does but I would have assumed it doesn't?) Ability to change the change the found game. Some of my games (Wipeout on PS1 for example) are matched incorrectly. The ability to change the match (by having it go to the game selection again like when it isn't sure of the match) would be great. As it stands right now I can't seem to change this. Overall though this is invaluable to me now so thank you so much.

I guess maybe my use case is a little unique which is why it didn't come up, but I personally really like having consistent art across all my selections and so having box art really bothers me. SteamGridDB is basically perfect for what I want but until now there hasn't really been a resource for adding that to LaunchBox. @JoeViking245 appreciate the thoughtful response. The flow you outline is what I had in mind yes. I can definitely deal with some outliers that catch some unfortunate strays, although if there was a way to filter to dimensions (ie 600x900 only) I think that would cover 99% I'm sure. Looking forward to the updates!

Thanks a ton for this. I've been waiting for a plugin like this for a while now. I do have some feature requests though: Ability to batch games. Would be so much better being able to just automatically scrape all games rather than do it on a per game basis. If I have a small collection, sure this isn't the end of the world, but when we're talking thousands (hell, even 50) it's extremely tiresome. I realise the match would fail sometimes but I think this is ok to then go back and adjust after manually. Obviously, before this process starts it should ask what you want to apply the images to (I personally prefer Box - Front - Reconstructed for example) There are too many clicks right now. Ideally it should default to the Grids view with the Add image sidebar already active. Anyway thanks again. I don't think I can use it in it's current state due to the lack of a batch feature, but I'll be keeping a keen eye on it for the future.

Bounty: BigBox full console-like theme
PlayingKarrde replied to alfredolvera's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
The launcher I made the theme for is still very much in alpha but even so it was clear to me it was exactly what I was looking for from a theme development point of view. It was written in a language that was already very familiar to me and has lots of resources for help, plus it's extremely powerful (I can pretty much do WHATEVER I want) and is still lightweight. It's not ready for primetime yet though but it's getting there. LB is still a lot easier to set up and continue to keep adding to. Anyway I didn't post the theme to try and cast shade on LB. I still think it's great - it just became a bit too heavy for my liking (and it's only on a single platform. Pegasus thankfully is is cross platform so my theme works on Windows, Mac, Linux, android (phone or a TV box like a Shield) or a Raspberry Pi. Regardless, once Pegasus is ready for showtime I do recommend checking it out. I think you'll like it and I'm trying to get them to add LB support so if you have a launchbox build already you should be able to check it out fairly hassle free.- 45 replies

Bounty: BigBox full console-like theme
PlayingKarrde replied to alfredolvera's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Have to say I wholeheartedly agree. While it's great all the work that goes into BB themes, I really want something that I can use as my main hub for games that feels elegant and modern. I might do it myself although if there are already lots of limitations then I don't want to get 50% of the way there before finding out it's not possible. It's not like learning XAML will have many other uses for me. I also find BigBox just a little cumbersome to use from a user experience point of view so even with a theme to my liking I'm not sure if it will be the steam big picture replacement I want.- 45 replies

Could you elaborate on this a little? Adding that to the coverFlow just makes my images crazy large. I'd like to have them at the correct scale but not blurry.
