  1. I've noticed it indeed, also there is an option to show the slected playlist on platform menu. Launchbox is so awesome .
  2. Silly me .. They are created as playlists with this import method.
  3. Hi There! I've been using Bigbox for about two years now on my bartop and with the new Mame import feature i felt it was time to update my mame library delete everything in Launchbox and make a new fresh import. The first time I've setup my Arcade library I used the LightSpeed MameLister to do this which allowed me to create platforms like Cave, Neo Geo and Capcom CP1, CP2 and CP3 with these specific games in it. I have deleted the platforms but can't seem to find a good way to create these again with the correct games in it. It feels like im missing something but just can't find it, can someone come in and help ?
  4. Does this work properly on a 4:3 or 5:4 aspect ratio monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024?
  5. I dont play often with 2 players and the game i play the most are the tetris grandmaster series and ms pacman. So i've decides to set the green Sanwa joystick to 4-way :). The blue one is still 8-way so can also play some shmups or fighting games with that. I like it so far, i was pretty accurate with 8way, but just that one time you do a wrong input and you lose because of it... #@!?@?#!. Does any one of you guys play with a 4-way joystick and what games do you play with it?
  6. @Fablog I don't have U360's in my bartop, I'm using Sanwa jlf-tp-8yt. Neohusky uses U360's. @laxedout Thank you! I've configured my ipac with shift functions so when I press the second red button with the coin button it registers as an 'esc' which exit in all emulators. For Windows games i change the button layout with a script to register alt+f4 with that button combination. So for whatever game i'm playing: second red button + coin insert = exit.
  7. I'm using bigbox on an Intel NUC DC3217 with has an Intel i3 3217U, 8GB RAM and an SSD. I use MinimalHD theme without transitions for best performance that way it works good. Default theme is too slow for me.
  8. Hi NeoHusky, Thank you! I use my bartop every day :). Adding RGB to the buttons certainly makes it more complicated. I screwed the IPAC on the bottom of my cabinet because the side and front buttons are also connected to it. I'm only using Sanwa parts, the joysticks are Sanwa's jlf-tp-8yt and buttons Sanwa's OBSN-30. I had a Madcatz fightstick before I built my bartop and got used to the control feeling so used the same parts. Do you like your u360's? @NJDave Working coin box is awesome. Must feel and sound good to put coins in it.
  9. Nice one! Also a coin door thats awesome! What do you play most of the time? I'm currently kinda addicted to Tetris Grandmaster 2 Plus
  10. That's one hell of a controller you built! All possible controls are there. I would love a spinner / trackball but can't fit all of those controls on a small control panel for a bartop. It would be way to cramped or looks HUGE so didnt go that way. I built the control panel so that both players have even free room for the palm too rest just as on a fightstick. Playing with real arcade parts is alot more fun than with a pad or keyboard. The wiring was fun indeed, most people on the internet say it's a chore but i liked it alot. Finished it pretty fast too. Shortend te cables and taped them to get it clean and organized.
  11. I use an I-PAC 2, it's super awesome. You can change profiles from the command line so I've created scripts for certain windows, DOS and dreamcast games. It sets controls upon start and back on close if the game uses a dfferent control scheme.
  12. Thanks! I've also got an Dreamcast emulator with MvC2 on it, like that one the most! What problems do you have with MAME emulation? With what ROM? I'm using official MAME 0.178.
  13. Hello there, I've recently finished my arcade machine. It's an bartop with two players with al Sanwa buttons. There is an 19" screen in it with an Intel NUC to run bigbox. This machine is done from the beginning and did the woodworking myself. There are currently thousands of games installed on it for different platforms. I'm curious what you guys think of it :-).
  14. It worked exactly as I wanted it to be, great feature of an already awesome front-end! For anyone else interested om changing there resolution upon launch and close of a game; Below the tools and 'scripts', more command, to change the resolution. I've used a simple application from NirSoft, called NirCMD. This simple tool allows you to change number of things on your system with a simple command, one of them is te parameter 'setdisplay'. I've create two scripts 'Set-Resolution-800x600.cmd' and 'Set-Resolution-1280x1024.cmd' to change the resolution I want. The commands are as followed: Set Resolution-800x600.cmd C:\Arcade\Tools\NirCMD\nircmd.exe setdisplay 800 600 32 Set Resolution-1280x1024.cmd C:\Arcade\Tools\NirCMD\nircmd.exe setdisplay 1280 1024 32 Then you can configure your game as SentaiBrad suggested to launch the specific script you want at start or close of the game to set the resolution. Hoped I help someone else with this.
  15. Thanks for your response, I didn't knew this function. I will try this when I get home!
  16. Hi there, I'm playing my arcade games on a low powerd Intel NUC. Some game, mostly Cave shmups on steam (mushihimesama, DoDonPachi DaiFakkatsu) looks and plays nicer when played on a low resolution imho. I'm looking for a feature to change the resolution upon game launch and reset it once the game closes. This could also be more generic as a startup and close script. So a user can make a specific script for a specific game to execute when launches, and execute when closes. Am I correct that there isn't an option to do this right now? Would you guys think this is a good idea?
  17. I used the NUC on a full HD monitor, but the monitor used in the bartop is a 19" 5:4 monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024. Reducing the resolution to 1280x1024 improved the performance to acceptable levels. Are there more tips to speed up the interface? The bartop currently looks as this, currently painting and stickers in order:
  18. Dear LaunchBox users, I'm building myself an bartop arcade machine and it's nearly finished so I was looking for some front-end software until I saw Launchbox. I looked into the features and bought a license including emumovies lifetime subscription for an easy import. Using BigBox on the PC i'll be using the interface is quite laggy however. Since it's not a powerful system i won't expect 60FPS with a theme that utilize fancy stuff, but I do however want a theme that shows a game play video to see what kind of game it is. The machine BigBox will run on is as followed: Intel NUC DC3217IYE CPU: Intel Core i3-3217U GPU: Intel 4000HD Mem: 8GB Disk: 256GB SSD I all ready disabled all transition effects and limited the interface to 30fps. I've also tried both VLC and Windows media player as the video player. I've also read and applied the article that shows the changes needs to be made for best performance. The theme I was using is CriticalZone because the default theme shows a coverflow and not a game play video. Is there an lightweight theme that shows game play video's? Sorry for my noob question. Best Regards, ndonkersloot
