@DOS76, What are zero delay encoders? do they work with universal arcade controls where you hook the wires up yourself? Can you tell me where you bought them or the manufacturer or both? How many players?

lol but is your question answered all you need to do is edit your post and take out the link. I see now what you see. These are not actually the 1:1 copy of these games. These authors have supposively rewrote the games to look like replicas of the originals. Why they would name them like they are originals are unknown. Back to your question, this is why your collection only has that many roms in it. It is not the actual manufacturers and the games you are missing simply have not been recreated yet. It still falls within questionable position in regards to this forum and for you to attack me over me trying to help you was ridiculous. I would suggest you reference the link that was posted above about mame. These should include the 170 games you are speaking of.

Replay, I have done that now, but for future I would like to join in at a higher percentage. With some of the updates, all they are is renames (which i understand I can do by using the scan feature. I am just trying to learn more about clrmamepro

We need more info, what kind of "set" did you download each time. FOr instance did you download a tosec set first and then a no-intro set for the new one? certain set creators have very strict controls. So if a title is not a full original copy than they won't list it. It may play but it is not original so they ignore it.

Ok, so now I have used clrmamepro to ensure that I have the full sets of my console games. I basically go in create a profile, add rom path, then hit scan. GOT that. Now what else can I do. 1. Can I sepperate the roms into north america and delete the rest, or create different subdirectories for each of the other regions? 2. When i go to update the set to the newest version, what do I do, and does it help me join in at lets say 50%? etc. what is rebuilder, merger etc?

Maybe I was not clear. I meant since I have to replace my ipac, should I purchase a different device to handle my arcade sticks? or is i-pac still considered the number 1 way?

I'm trying to setup multiple computers. I would like to have the same setup throughout house. If I have to buy multiple licenses that is fine. The images take up a lot of room!!!! I have found multiple versions of the same image, same size, same everything but named -1 and -2. no idea why even if I refresh or I scan for images why it would simply create a copy of the same image. I am now testing using Launchbox on nas with roms on nas and images on local computer.

Thank you VERY much for all your help, POFO14! I have always liked the no-intro sets, is the dat-o-matic still the best way to get the no intro dats? I'm going to play around with them a little bit.

Ok so I really like launchbox, but i have an issue with not being able to use both player sticks to choose games (along with other monor issues based upon this). So I posted a topic about adding the ability to add more keystrokes into the hotkey menu. Now in the mean time I am also having a problem with my old version ipac being detected occasionally. So my question is now, Is there now a better way of handling arcade sticks? I would like them to be treated more like a controller and less like a keyboard, I dont remember exactly which controller I got, but it was one that was a known brand 10 years ago.

Where are your images stored? I am having this problem using a nas system, but if images are stored locally no lag. you may also want to go into settings and change the cache size.

1. What is the best program to use for dats? 2. what are dats used for? 3. Are there dats for images also? 4. How reliable are dats? 5. Do you have to certain sets to use certain dats? for example if I download a NES set that is TOSEC and want to convert it to no-intro, is that possible? I have been put of emulation for about 10 years and now looking at updating everything. I used dats and i think romcenter before. I remember images were always a problem and the different naming conventions were an issue.

Ok So I have launchbox locally installed onto my win10 machine and previously had my images and roms set to my D drive. This was great until i looked at the amount of room the images was taking up. So i decided to move everything to the nas, which gives me the added benefit to playing games from multiple pc. The problem is that after setting up launchbox, the image population takes forever. I have tried maxing out my cache to 4 gb. It still takes about 15 seconds to change games. Would symbolic links fix my issue? if so where would i put the links and for what? Any help appreciated

Ok so I have a setup coming from Maximus Arcade Frontend. I would like to be able to have player 1 and player 2 control Launchbox. Currently I have an ipac mostly defaulted to mame standards, the left joy is connected to up, down, left, right, the right controller is connected to something like l r f h for example. I would like to add L R F H to allow it to pick a game when it is their turn.
