So my brother and I love playing games. It doesn't matter if its arcade, nintendo, sega, sony, xbox. We typically like games where 1 player can kill the other but that is not the object (No fighting games). We also are not too much into the games you have to really work at (like call of duty) we like games like super mario, lode runner dig fight (current favorite), the side games on New super mario, metal warriors (SNES), etc. WE are looking for some new games. What is everyones favorite 2 player games!

Ok so I need to run a program before running a snes game and one after running an snes game. I know I can manually configure the additional apps to run like this, but I have alot of games. I tried editing it via notepad ++ but can not find a way to replace due to how the xml is set up. I see that I can add the file just copy and paste, which would be faster than manually editing in launchbox, but still I have a lot of games. What would make it even better is if I could just load these files whenever I plug in a certain controller, but I don't see how that would be possible. So what is the best way. Thanks

I want to put my vote into this as well. It is defiantly a sign in issue as it recognizes the password is correct, but does not succeed in login

So I tested it out again and same thing. Then I tried on IE and it worked, so I cleared cache in chrome and it is working again. Strange

@zardoz2626 Thank you for the tutorial! I never knew you could line the second screen to the lower right! When setting up the emulator, if you choose the hide console window, it will not flash the cmd window!

Daphne Laser Disc emulator - a comprehensive tutorial

@HotMommasCowboy They have .exe files now? hmmm. If they run straight from the exe, you will have to work some magic. 1. Import the exe files, choose no options (do not download any images, do not search for metadata) 2. Choose just any emulator doesn't matter. Let it import 3. After completion click on the new platform and one of the games (Single click) then hit CTRL-A to highlight all of the roms in the new platform. 4. Right click on roms and choose edit. 5. Choose emulator and assign to a blank emulator. 6. Search for metadata -

@HotMommasCowboy Did you literally not read the message above yours? lol "I also wanted to bring to attention that Daphne also has new games that work with it called, Singe. These games include Mad Dog Mcree 1 and 2, Time Traveler, Time Gal, Crime Patrol 1 and 2, Ninja Hayate, Space Pirates, the last bounty hunter, and who shot johnny rock. These setup the .bat way typically. " Google Singe (Singe was the name of the dragon in Dragon's Layer) Daphne Bat Files.zip Daphne Framefiles.zip -
Why does lb require an update to recognize games I have? There has been a ton of changes since .174. So this is something @Jason Carr has to do? hmmm Is there a way we can set a dat file for this to update for us?

Ok so I had .185 roms and wanted to upgrade to .193. I have gotten the info and now wondering how to add them to launchbox. My main problem is that I use favorites, so how do i upgrade them and also keep my favorites? If I import them again, it may work, but what happens to the games that are no longer there or got renamed in the new set. I suppose I can do a scan for removed roms, but it would be much easier if launchbox created a separate data file for platform favorites. My old frontend had a mame.xml and a mame_favorites.xml. So my question to you all is, how to upgrade the right way

@DOS76 I could not get it to work your way, however it inspired me YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE ROM DIRECTORY SET IN MAME64 for this to work. to load a clone via command line you type mame64.exe "galplus" to load gaplus of galaga parent. So I turned off the emulation check box and put in the application path ..\..\..\mame64.exe and in the application command line i put "gaplus" another option would be bat files you could simply make one that says d: cd Games\Emulators\Mame mame64.exe "gaplus" Whichever is easier What would be the easiest way and make merge files handier, would be if Jason added in the ability to simply have "gaplus" as the rom name. like this
-
According to Dankcushions form another forum dankcushions as a one off, i'm told if you rename the merged zip file to the name of the specific clone you want to play, then it will load rather than the parent. herb_fargus I can confirm that as well. So if you simply rename your merged set zip file to the name of the clone it will load that clone.

So I have researched a little more and in big box, I would still have to disable the mouse in order to provide the functionality I desire, without any new configuration provided by the awesome team building it. I love this software but do not like how restricted it is (or how restricted it seems to me) so I created a feature request Feature Request for more configuration options and you can vote for it here PLEASE VOTE. Thanks for all your help

Please vote for this option here VOTE HERE Enable the ability to assign button combinations Enable assigning multiple buttons to the same hotkey I would like to get more keyboard/Controller/Mouse hotkey options For instance currently there is no hotkey: to go to next system to go to next alphabet letter to go to bottom of list to go to top of list to open options to edit a file **to mark a favorite** disable mouse **INTEGRATE MOUSE AND CONTROLLER** (make them act as 1) record a video take a snapshot Yet we already have a shortcut key to: Show status Show sources Show developers show publishers set star rating And there are odd shortcut keys like: Volume up = + but volume down = n Page down = next (I did check this and it works correctly) Also more abilities to quickly edit the location of image directories, this could be handled by xml, cfg, a built in program, or simply a bulk edit for the root of the images For example I have my Nintendo 64 images on d:\images\Nintendo 64 in all the sorted categories fron, back, clear logo, etc. The default location is d:\frontends\launchbox\images\Nintendo 64\Images, so if I could do a bulk edit feature and put in d:\images\Nintendo 64 and everything moves to that. Please vote for this option here VOTE HERE

Ok so right now im setting up launchbox, havent done the research to see what is so awesome with bigbox yet. So if this is different in bigbox, is it a setting i need to change in bigbox or out of the box it is like that. I already have a license.

It responds as a controller. So when I use the controller I get a new colorful pointer So it acts a lot like a mouse. except that my button 1 is a button and a mouse button, so When i click on a game to launch, it launches the games the mouse is pointing at not the one the controller is.

Is there a way to make a joystick select roms similar to how pushing up, down, left, right arrow keys select them? Currently when I use a joystick a pointer (which is also separate from the mouse pointer) shows up and I have to click on the game to get the info for it. If I use the arrow keys, each time I press down it goes to the next game and displays the metadata for that game. If the answer to my question is no, then I have a problem because I would like my controller button 1 and 2 to be my mouse buttons. However whenever I use the controller to select a game and hit controller button 1 it clicks on whatever the mouse pointer is on, not the controller pointer. Is there a way to combine the 2? I also like to sometimes use my trackball to select games, so hiding the mouse might cause other issues, but I may want to try this for a period of time, so instructions? Thanks

Can't you click this box? A batch file would also work. Steps: 1. Right click on desktop 2. Choose new text file 3. Open new file 4. Paste this in file taskkill /IM notepad.exe Change notepad.exe to whatever cryptserver exe is. 5. Save as 6. Rename it whatever you like and put .bat at end of file.

Yes, thanks!
