  1. @skizzosjt "Guide button chords will work 24/7 as long as Steam is running....take note, running, it does not need to be in focus for the various Guide button chords to work" This I didn't know, thanks.. I tried adding BigBox as a non-steam game, and I got the overlay working in BigBox, but games wouldn't launch, although I only did minor testing, will have another go tomorrow... Edit, 09/02/24: After lots of testing, adding BigBox (and/or Kodi too btw) as a non Steam game.. the overlay works, but causes some really bad graphical errors.
  2. This might not be the right place for this question, (I'll delete or move it if that's the case) but, does anyone know a way to get the steam guide button overlay working in the BigBox menu, without breaking SteamLauncher? I'd like to be able to access Steam Chat etc in Big Picture Mode, from the BigBox menu, as well as the Guide Button Chords to access Discord overlay, and maybe Parsec overlay too if possible.. Any thoughts appreciated, thanks
  3. Hi all, I found something interesting... I've been looking into ways to try to make the startup process a bit smoother, starting with trying to find a way to stop the Steam Pop-up, and I found this https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/6516193260174637803/ thread, which seemed promising. However, after applying the Registry Edit solution mentioned in there, the Steam Pop-up is still happening, but it's silenced/hidden the "Steamlauncher Proxy" window instead, which is nice, but not what I was expecting. So, I no longer see the "Steamlauncher Proxy" window at all, it seems to run in the background, and the startup process looks a lot cleaner. I've been testing with BigBox and Retroarch, and it seems to work perfectly for me, except for a few instances of losing focus; mainly on the BigBox pause screen, and when I exit the game through BigBox Pause or Retroarch; exiting games using the Steam menu sems to work fine.
  4. EDIT No.2: Everything I wrote before is pretty much irrelevant, so I've started again, but for anyone else searching for this issue.. My problems were all to do with having Steam-Input enabled for X-Box controllers, in the Steam settings... (and some from being too lazy/ignorant to remap my 8BitDo controller in Retroarch; I assumed it was recognised as a 360 controller, but it was working under Steam-Input) For whatever reason under the hood; SteamLauncher wouldn't seem to launch anything. The shortcut for the game would be created, but shut down right away, or sometimes timed out, according to the logs.. The other symptom of this, for any non-SteamLauncher users searching for a fix, is that controller input in BigBox was double pressing every input; moving or clicking twice for every button press; once with the controller, and once from the Steam-Inputs "Keyboard". Insanely annoying, and I couldn't find any help when searching myself, hopefully this helps someone else.
  5. Hi, Happy New Year all!.. Is this Plugin still working at the moment? I've been away for months, just re-installed, but can't seem to get it to "Steam-Launch" anything.. Any answers welcome, thanks!
  6. Just tested on a new setup, working perfectly.. Awesome job Lahma, thanks for all the hard work!
  7. For those who dont know, Parsec is a program which allows you to host your game/screen, and allows other people to join your game, with full controller inputs, from a client app at another location. Its a bit like Netplay for Retroarch, except without the hassle of needing identical matching ROMs and Cores, essentially opening up every multiplayer game in your library to be able to be played with friends (or strangers) online easily. Anyway, I'd really like to see Parsec Integration make it into the next Community Poll, and for that it needs people to vote for it on Bitbucket, so if this sounds interesting to you, please get over to Bitbucket and give it a vote, I think it would be an awesome addition. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/6214/parsec-integration
This Plugin is great, and has been an essential part of my Launchbox setup for a long time now. The level of controller customisation this integrates from Steam, and the convenience of it being a single integrated interface, accessible by the controller guide button, which automatically saves and reloads your custom configs per-game with zero effort, is just awesome. Even if you have no friends or games on Steam, this plugin is worth it for the controller configs alone. Any problems with the plugin are usually user-error/odd use-case, or changes made by Steam or Launchbox. The Plugin author is very communicative, active on the forum support thread, and is quick to fix any problems that do come up, great job.
  8. Just installed 11.4, and I've got the same error as Nokiaman above.
  9. Did you have the previous version already installed? or just trying it out for the first time?.. The link above is for the Alpha .DLL file only; you still need the other 5 files that come with the plugin when downloaded from the forums, and they all need to be in the folder: Launchbox/Plugins/SteamLauncher/
  10. Thought that was the case, I'm just a bit rusty on the details with this stuff... Many thanks guys, I'm off to sort out my Library again...
  11. Thanks for the swift response, and for confirming what I was dreading, now I just need to check my whole library again haha So, if I unzipped all the archives containing multiple regions, then zipped them all separately to save space; will Launchbox import each ROM as a separate game listing? Or should it then import just 1 game, choosing the Region based on my specifications? Thanks again
  12. A lot of my ROMs are zip files, containing different region versions of each game. Recently I've noticed Launchbox/Retroarch seems to be picking a random region each time it launches, rather than following the region priorities I specified in Launchbox Settings. Do I need to Re-import my ROMs? Or does anyone know of anything else I could try first?
  13. I think last time I tested (my setup is changing constantly btw, so makes it harder to pin things down) everything worked fine when I used a single-monitor setup. Plugin, startup/shutdown, pause screens, steam overlay,.. since then I've been messing with displayfusion a bit (I suspect certain taskbar settings might affect which target monitor is used etc), as well as altering the setup by switching back to dual-monitor. The plugin itself seems to be working great when theres nothing else to "confuse" it.., thanks again!
  14. I think I've been having this issue too, I thought it was something to do with my dual-monitor setup. I'll do some testing in a few hours and let you guys know if I find anything relevant. @JedExodus are you using dual-monitors too?
  15. That summed up what I was thinking after voting. I'm also pleasantly surprised at how many votes some of these "weeds" are getting, I thought there'd be more votes for the shiny new android prospects.
  16. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here)... Launchbox is a portable install, so you should be able to straight-up copy your install to another location whenever you want, then you can make changes to 1 install and simply overwrite the changes to the duplicate.
  17. Something I'm going to try later in the week: Launchiing a multiplayer game from launchbox, via steamlauncher, then joining the game from another PC using Parsec. I don't imagine there'dd be any problems with the plugin itself, but Steam and Parsec might not play nice together in terms of controller input conflict... I'll update when I've had a go, if anyone else is interested to know the result?... Parsec Netplay anyone?
  18. PCSX2 configurator never worked for me with previous versions of Steamlauncher, but this time round I think all I needed to do was install this version, and restart my PC, so I think my "fail" was false, i.e. no actual issues with the plugin itself.
  19. I just tried to launch a few of the Windows games I have in launchbox, and it's coming up with a "Failed to Launch Shortcut " error. I'm guessing this is the .exe thing you mentioned previously? Can you let me know what to change in the config to get it working? (I messaged you on Steam as well) Cheers
  20. I just tried it out again, and it's now working correctly with all my current emulators: Retroarch, Demul, Dolphin, Cemu, and even PCSX2, including the configurator plugin! I think other than the inital path fix, all I really did was restart my pc and everything worked fine this time,.. awesome work, thanks again!
  21. For some reason my emulator paths for PCSX2, Dolphin, andd Cemu had been changed to point to Steam.exe, I changed the paths back and got Dolphin and Cemu working ok, and PCSX2 loaded, just without the pcsx2 configurator settings. Ive enabled debug logging in the plugin config, I'll run a few games/systems and send you my logs shortly.
  22. Just tried it out, and I'm getting the opposite of Voodox, above. Every game/system I tried that uses Retroarch works fine, but PCSX2 and Dolphin dont load, just loads the Steam client window. I'm also using the PCSX2 Configurator plugin, whiich might be complicating things, but would be great if the 2 plugins could be used together. I'm going to try a few more things, will post here if I have any more luck,.. does work great for Retroarch for me though, great job Lahma, thanks again
  23. Not checked in on this thread for a while, glad I did!.. I'll update n test the plugin this weekend n let you know how it works for me. Thanks again
  24. Thank you for all your work on this plugin, I'm sure a lot of Launchbox users are very glad for your selfless contribution, myself included. Thanks
