I was thinking the cloud option as well when it comes to saves, but sometimes the Wi-Fi in places don't seem all that. I was thinking more like a MicroSD maybe, but still unsure. I'm Re-Importing my NES games at the moment when it seems instead I could've went to "Import" and then take the option Move everything to LaunchBox's NES directory. Hopefully once this is all there that things will load up right and not leave me hanging on a grey screen. I also went in 3DNES and kinda made sure it wasn't in the directory with tons of ROMs in it to where the Menu within itself seems faster now
-
That's kinda my problem is I have everything still in a manner that was Pre-LaunchBox for me and sometimes worry it'll mess with my Saves and other Data if I move too much around. Like I'm even trying to find a way I can make my Saves transferable for everything back and forth between my Laptop and GPD Win so I can take my progress on the go with my GPD Win and then come Home to that same progress on my Laptop. Not only that..but I also wanna try obtain and make as much cover art for everything I can which for me is such a mess to deal with since I'm always so busy and want to complete my whole LaunchBox experience to maybe later working my BigBox stuff too and making it something nice to show off to others who come over and play with my Fiancee and I via our projector
-
Sounds like I'm gonna have to try move everything there instead. I wonder if the Bulk Editor will let me redirect everything to that Directory so I don't have Re-Import everything all over again. I also hope this won't conflict with my FCEUX settings though. I almost was tempted to kinda rename my whole directory as to how you have your's set too Ha!Ha!Ha!
-
I've done all that..but I wonder if the grey screen is due to having tons of ROMs or the directory isn't found properly with mine. I know when you have almost no ROMs in a directory with it is when the menu within itself and everything goes smoothly. I wonder now if maybe I make the directory within 3DNES blank and then try Launch via LaunchBox will it go faster. I did see grey on your's for a moment which I guess could be loading up before the game finally shows up

It's all good. I linked things over to the new thread and use this one as a reference to go back to the other

So as we are clear on that 3DNES is able to run through LaunchBox as any Emulator can. Thing is now to get those games to run individually with the proper Command Line. My problem is that I've tried to figure out various ways in doing so and seems I mostly get lead to a grey screen and no game loaded up. The 3DNES is set to the Nintendo NES Platform through LaunchBox properly, but I have my ROMs Imported from a FCEUX Directory which I'm unsure could be why a grey screen happens. I have been in a discussion from a previous thread in which I feel is best to bring the topic in this section instead. The previous talks have started in this link if you want to see how much progress has been spoken of:

Yeah..like if I do --r=SMB.nes it's basically gonna take you to Super Mario Bros (if your .nes is labeled that way) only no matter what other NES game you try run it from when you do that. I'm trying to figure out if maybe it's due to my ROMs are set within a FCEUX's ROM Directory when I guess it needs to be routed for 3DNES somehow? I created a new tread so we can talk more about 3DNES there at:
-
I knew how the Command Lines work, it was just trying to figure which command would be proper in making everything run like it should. I agree 3DNES should get its own thread since we have kinda went from requesting a feature to if zSNES and 3DNES will work to now just how can we get everything from 3DNES to work with the right Command Line for it all. Looks like yet again I overlooked something which was the manual..but thanks for bringing light to it. I'm sure my Fiancee will be more thankful than I about it. Kinda a shame not many know of 3DNES though since I don't see it talked about with a huge community behind it though. So after checking "No space before ROM" I'm now being lead to a blank grey screen. Not sure if it's because it's still trying to load up the huge list of ROMs or something else. I did update my 3DNES as well which supports both VR and PC versions to see how that goes and all I see difference is it handles more games than before. It still takes almost forever to go about its own menu if you send it to a directory with a ton of ROMs in it.

Due to my personal schedule and all I'm not always on top of what can be done with LaunchBox and all of its features. I understand it can get somewhat annoying when maybe the same questions are asked in places it may not belong too as a Moderator and all, but I would appreciate the tone of reply to be more chill as much of us are just learning and may casually come in with no coding knowledge or anything, and all they know is something doesn't sit well with them and wanna know how to improve the experience without receiving somewhat of a jab at them for asking a question that may have been answered over thousands of times in various places within the forums and all that. I want to help improve not only my experience with LaunchBox but also let Jason know the best way I can with the least hassle as possible and even help others on things too as we are part of the LaunchBox community as a whole. Even though I may not be on top of things due to my constant schedule I tend to play things that are still somewhat experimental and seems hardly many will even know about it or even played it such as 3DNES. I basically come in and see if any of that can be worked in and go about my life and then come back to see if some solution was found about it so I can game better through LaunchBox with it. I'm not here to mess around and tie things up with the process, so I'd appreciate more help than hassle if anything. I know now pretty much any .exe can be done through LaunchBox, but is it necessary to browbeat it several times? The one thing left I'm trying to figure out now is a proper command line to launch any ROM for 3DNES and nothing further added to that would be greatly appreciated as I have no time for anything else but the answers I seek

Same result as before..but I left them a comment over there in hopes they can bridge the gap on getting this to work as we hope it can. I have the PC version they did before they decided to go all VR. I think around that time it was one of those "Name Your Price" Downloads and still might be available as just that too.

All it did was load blank again without the Pop-up Menu. The link seems to have it made out to individual ROMs which I'm unsure how it can be made out to whichever one that gets clicked on instead. This command seems like with something cleverly added after --r= other than an individual ROM that it may work in full. The thing is..what could the rest of it be needed to make it work all the way for any that gets clicked on?
-
Thanks for the tip on that. Any ideas on what I can do about making games launch correctly to 3DNES instead of it just taking me to the Emulator without a game loaded up?
-
Seems I fixed the Exit for zSNES. Just copied this over from 4DO and renamed it zSNES in its place. Just might work with everything else that doesn't close out with Esc. Just still need to figure a way to launch a Game Title in 3DNES through LaunchBox without it just taking me to the Emulator itself now
-
Okay so switching back to zSNES was a success..but seems I need a command line to exit with Esc instead of bringing up the Menu. 3DNES just sent me to the Emulator with no game which seems I need a command line for that one as well for both loading a title and another to exit with Esc.
-
Looks like in this case I may just see if making 3DNES for my NES Games will work well with it through LaunchBox too. If so then I probably need to figure out just how I will able to switch between a 2D style with FCEUX and 3D style with 3DNES at ease

Maybe I overlooked something? Most of what I seen was for Snes9x or RetroArch when I was starting out on learning and getting things set up. Maybe things got updated where this now open to zSNES? Seems I may have to back and give it another look and see if it's a simple setup of a Directory to zSNES.exe then I have settled for one of RetroArch's SNES cores for the moment, but when I do that I now have problems getting it to run through HDMI even when I change the Screen Index. With zSNES it's never been a problem through HDMI and I'm not all sure why some left it for Snes9x though.

The only problems I've ever had was that in some games when using something of a modern controller such as a 360, XBO, PS3 type of controller you'll have calibration issues in which the game thinks the left analog in "Joystick 1" and the right analog is "Joystick 2" and even considers A & B buttons as "Joystick 1 Buttons 1 & 2" while X & Y buttons get considered "Joystick 2 Button 1 & 2" to where playing 2 Player games can sometimes be such a hassle in which you have to kinda make things set to Keyboard and just Joy-to-Key everything in which some cases for games using more than 2 button commands such as various classic First Person Shooters it's probably better to do. Not sure what the LaunchBox Team can do about 1 controller acting as 2 and all..but would rock if they found a way to fix that. The other issue with some MS-DOS games is that they will now go faster than usual to an unplayable state that you die from the start. Not sure this is something the LaunchBox Team could do much about since this is within another program and not so much the launcher..but if they could find a way to fix that too..then it would also rock. I have much faith in all that the LaunchBox Team does to help make things as comfortable in having our most beloved games feel as they should in some way or another though

Hopefully this is the proper thread about requesting features for LaunchBox.Next. If so then I'm sure you already know I was hoping for an easier way to select random games instead of going to "Tools" and selecting from there each time. One of my latest requests would be to use other Emulators through it that aren't just RetroArch and a few others that kinda have been overlooked or forgotten such as zSNES for Super Nintendo or the 3DNES for NES. My Fiancee and I have come to find such fun in 3DNES due to how it makes everything that was 2D Pixels into 3D pixelated objects, but the GUI in it takes almost forever just to go from one game to the next. I was hoping maybe there was a way that LaunchBox could easily get you right into the game title of choosing in one click instead of a few and waiting in between them after searching and all.

Opening RetroArch on its own works just fine through HDMI..but not when I launch a game through LaunchBox though. I had it set at 2 in which kinda worked one time when I loaded a game and plugged the HDMI in I believe. 1 made it to where nothing but the LaunchBox screen shows on the bigger screen. 0 just crashes. My projector doesn't cast wirelessly at this point unless I find an attachment for it later on as our Roku Smart TV can cast just fine by using the "project" feature within Windows 10.
-
Not sure what's going on when I launch anything using RetroArch through LaunchBox via HDMI to my Projector or TV from my Laptop it goes Black while buffering and nothing much else to where it get unresponsive. I have Googled for solutions but seems everything I have came across was related to people having issues with sound only when it comes to HDMI and not when it comes to just loading up a game. I got as far as taking out the HDMI and pressing F1 to bring up the settings within RetroArch in hopes it focuses to the proper screen in which kinda worked until I left that game and acted like it never saved my configurations even though I did as I went back to see the settings did remain where I left them, yet still back to the same problems as before.

I have also had that issue with my Analog sticks in the past..but seemed to go beyond LaunchBox. I think what happens with mine is if you accidentally press R2/Right Trigger or any Trigger or even nudge an Analog while turning on your controller with the Home/Guide button it tends to drag and ghost about. It was seen in the Controller Settings of Windows 10 and I noticed it at times when I played Quake 3: Arena for Windows PC after I set the Commands to it via Joy-to-Key. I use the PS3/PC Wireless Afterglow Controller which reads very much the same as any XBOX Controller type without any extra setup required

The above post happened when I went to Edit my MUGEN game title since I was about to import some cover art I was working on for it.

I also am having issues with large fonts on the sides. I think Jason was saying he would get around to showing us how we can adjust that later on. As far as the left side goes, I have trouble at times scrolling all the way down once I started making things in Categories such as Consoles, Computers, Handhelds and Arcade. I at times can't scroll all the way down once I expand my Consoles section. Also when I go to edit games I end up having things buffer to a crash still. Sorry if I haven't said much in a while to help the process with feedback since my schedule has been busier than ever at the moment

I was just importing a Windows game and it got that way. I think it got worse the more I imported too. This was before the new Beta was available though. I plan to try the new Beta later today though.
