Retroarch Mame Disable Info Screens

Recommended Posts

You could even disable that screen in the mame.ini file if you wanted to but yeah that command line parameter will do the same thing.

You sure? Because I tried to insert them but it didn't work. If I post the mame ini file, can you tell me the exact line to add and where would you put it?

Thats in MameUI

Yeah I figured it out hehe.

This is the screenshot of the MAMEUI game properties

LB2.jpg

So it would be checking the "skip system info" box?

Ok I got it. Just 1 little problem left..

As you can see, In MAMEUI, you can click "All Systems" but it will not let you do a "Select All" with all the 100s of games. It takes 1 game at a time and when you go into File Properties, it goes only in the properties of that 1 game that it selected.

So if I check the "Skip system info" box, the screen will go away but only for that game.

I only have about 70 arcade games so I can do it for each but is there a bulk edit shortcut here?

Is there no "Default Game Options" in the Options drop down menu ?

I haven't used a MameUI build in so long and I forget what it has and doesn't have.

Aaahhh damn! I missed this one hehe.

I just finished changing them all 1 by 1 lol Oh well...

Btw, are you familiar with X-Arcade Tankstick?

I noticed in the Controller tab, there is a option for "Xarcade" and I was wondering if I needed to set my MAME to this option since I will soon plug in that tankstick to play the games.

It's probably a good idea to do it once you plug your tank stick in since it auto sets it all for you.

Should it be the other way around as in setting up the buttons on the tansktick first so that MAME can bend to its setup?

I haven't read the manual yet about setting up the tankstick so I don't know what kind of bugs I will face. Any good threads about it here?

To bulk edit something go over to the side menu for working and right click that and go to properties that should change it for everything. That at least works for Vertical and Horizontal when setting up multi-monitors

Thanks but lordmonkus got it right. There is a "Default System Options" in the Options Menu. I just didn't see it. I clicked on File>>Properties of each game but now I know better.

Well that may come in handy for something else you want to bulk change at a later time.

Which side menu?

The ones with the "All systems"?

I'm using MAMEUI here btw...

were it says vertical and horizontal you can right click that and set things for all games in that category I assume the other will let you do the same.

You mean this Vertical menu right click?

I don't see anything and in these menus, the games cannot be all selected either. Again that's fine the "Default System Options" in the Options Menu did the job.

Yes if you go to properties you can change things for all the games in that category at once you can add make all vertical games display on a certain monitor and the horizontal in another you can set all of your trackball games to use your mouse at once things like that.

You don't select the games per say you are editing any game in that category.
