I'm a big RetroArch user and a big N64 fan. I've been disappointed at the lack of compatibility for the Mupen64Plus core compared to other cores in RetroArch. Everywhere I've looked online points to GlupeN64 being the best core with the highest compatibility for the time being until ParaLLEL or Cen64 picks up steam.

The problem is I can't figure out how to activate GlupeN64 as a core in RetroArch. I have the latest 1.4.1 edition of RetroArch, but GlupeN64 isn't listed as a core there. Does anyone know how to activate this core?

Thanks for that @neil9000. It's good to see that it exists in the database and that I'm not crazy. However, it doesn't appear in my database (look at the attachment). I think the problem is that I'm using the 32-bit edition of RetroArch and it doesn't appear there. I just updated all of the core info files, assets, the whole nine yards, but it still doesn't appear there as a core.

Are you using the 64-bit version of RetroArch? That might be the issue. I tried downloading the 64-bit version, but my computer won't run it so I can't test it out.

Yeah I'm running 64bit, here drop this in your cores folder and see if it works.

Thanks a lot @neil9000. I tried it out and unfortunately my install of RetroArch won't load any games when using the GlupeN64 core in a 32-bit environment. It was worth a try and now I know that I need to upgrade to a 64-bit computer. Thanks man. This is why the LB community is the best.

Sorry just to add to that, your pc maybe x64, but your version of windows maybe 32bit?? worth checking, a cheap windows 10 licence is cheaper than a whole new PC.  :)

Better compatibility and performance especially on better hardware. I'm running it at 1440p on a 1080p display so its downsampling and looks great. It also has support for hi-res texture packs built in.

Oooh, hi-res textures, that sounds great. I'm still working on setting things up here but I'm using 1.3.6. Sounds like I need to look into upgrading my Retroarch.

I think it works in 1.3.6 as well, not positive as I was always on nightlies, but I think it works.

Well I would suggest keeping a separate install just in case, retroarch is portable so you can have many different versions of it running on one pc.

To slow!! :)
