Double Dragon 1987 problem

Can´t take metadata from LaunchBox Games Database, always take Double Dragon 1995 (Neo-Geo), can see the game here https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/details/10490 , but it doesn´t appear to select it.......

Can confirm there is no way that I could figure out how to force it to the 1987 game and not the 1995 game, even just search for "Double" every other game with that word in the title shows up but the 1987 version of Double Dragon is not in the selection. Would be nice to have a feature in Launchbox to just manually put in the DB id #.

Thanks for Try it and answer, I found a way, you must import without combine roms by name and use MAME metadata, but the artwork from Launchbox database its wrong (Metadata from 1987 and artwork from 1995), Emumovies it´s OK

I just tried to re-scrape it and not re-importing it, still though it should have the 1987 version in the list when looking.

If I re-scrape 1987 game and replace it, It  shows Neo-Geo again....

If I try and search for Double or Double Dragon that is all that shows up, no 1987 version of the game, though it should. The wikipedia version does show though but I would rather have the LB DB show it as well.

https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/details/27051 both games have same name, I try to search by "alternate name", but it doesn´t work, Can´t find "Double Dragon I"

Hopefully Jason can give us a fix for this, either fixing it somehow with the LB scraper or allowing us to put in the DB ID# manually for the few times it has troubles like this.

Hopefully that's a suitable solution for Jason and the DB moderators, that's something I keep my hands out of.

some games like shinobi, golden axe, shadow warrior, all (Sega Mega-Tech games), if you choose combine roms, it merges with Original Arcade Games, different game same name.....maybe if Jason can Add (Mega-Tech) to those games, or a Checkbox to don´t import it........

Showing up now. Double Dragon 7/1/1987 LB database record shows up in a metadata search. As well as Super Mario Bros. (lost levels)

I noticed a post in this sub forum that Jason improved performance in DB moderation a few days back and one of the mods mentioned several pages were approved quickly now.

I think that in very special cases like this one or other cases where there are identically named games, exceptions can be made in the database for scraping purposes. It's technically against the guidelines, but I'd rather bend a rule or two to help people enjoy their games than mindlessly stick to the rules. BTW I was one of the moderators that approved the Double Dragon (Neo-Geo) name change.
