BigBox v.11.17 doesn't load any images - Only black boxes

Hi everyone,

It seems that since the launchbox 11.16 update, BigBox does not load images properly. Basically I get a lot of black boxes instead of 3D cover boxes, screenshots, logos of whatever option I choose to see the list of games (I seem indifferent I always get black boxes), this does not happen with videos, manual, the games or any other option different to the "cover" that I choose.  Of course I updated to 11.7 version, and I refresh the cache, used the option to Force populate all game wheel imagenes & Force pupulate all CoverFlown imagenes multiple times without success. It is a bit weird because in Launchbox everything works well and I can see the imagenes in my database, so all the problem is alocated to BigBox and for some reason that I do not understand Bigbox does not see the images or they are not loaded correctly.

I would appreciate any kind of help or hint.

Kind regards!

Hi Retro808,

What theme are you using?

CriticalZoneV2 - Default

Have you tried a different theme to see if we can eliminate it being a theme issue? I would recommend using the default theme if you are not already and see if the problem still persists.

A very useful trick, and yes, with default theme the problem disappears.

Maybe share an image of what you are seeing.

Yep, no problems.

This one is with CriticalZonev2 - Default

And this with default theme.

I will use another theme while I wait to see if they update CriticalZone, which is the one I like. Thanks a lot for your help!

If i recall Critical Zone uses standard 2D boxes there, but in your image of the other theme you have 3D Boxes, so do you have 2D Boxes downloaded?

Yes, I have 2D boxes too. But CriticalZone can use 3D Boxes, in fact it was the kind of box that it showed me until launchbox was updated to  v.11.16 (in my picture you see 2D black box because there is not any kind of 3D black box, a black box is always 2D). In any case, since the updated Critical Zone does not work whatever image I choose... even if I choose 2D boxes, logos or whatever. With this theme, now, I always obtain a black box.

After more investigation I find that the problem is concentrated under the default option to see the list of games called Coverflow with Details, It seems that with the v.11.16 updated now this option is broken and does not show correctly the images of the games. If I choose others options, from the theme-specific menu, to see my list of games like horizontal wheel 1, 2, 3, or vertical ones, everything works correctly.

This looks to be an issue specific to the theme, or a really old syntax that accidentally got removed. We're working on a fix. :)
