The Papaw Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) Setup: Win 10 BigBox beta 2 using default theme PS4 Dual Shock Controller (not that it matters, but light is white by default) - Not using any third party controller stuff RPCS3 Version: 0.0.38-18327-0bf9ee9f Alpha (latest today) I open Bigbox, select a game, goes to startup screen, light on controller turns blue when launching RPCS3 and game starts and controller works as it should. However, nothing functions concerning Bigbox after that point, no pause screen, natta. I hit ESC to kill game and close RPCS3 and controller still doesn't function in BB even after I click on it with mouse. I have to turn off the conroller, wait a second, turn it back on (light is white again, and it starts working again in Bigbox. Thought I'd report Edited November 11 by The Papaw Quote

Switched back to FFMeg and ran for 3 hours also. I never used to get crashes and haven’t had time to test thoroughly. I know one of the previous updates like 4-5 ago there was constant crashing but they fixed it and I had no crashing. Now I get occasional crashes. Hopefully the team can look into this and I can get more time to test. Quote
xokia Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Can we get an option to skip a specific update? I can choose not to install an update but then everytime I launch launchbox it wants to update what I previously said no to. 1 Quote
Jabb3rJaw Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Ok little more testing. I have not been able to get Bigbox to crash using WMP. Most of the time FFMeg will crash. I’m using Unified theme so maybe this theme works better with WMP or maybe it’s a beta issue not sure. Quote
The Papaw Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I noticed in v13.24 and betas. Showing amazon poster x2 1 Quote
Jabb3rJaw Posted Wednesday at 11:00 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:00 PM Just curious if the Launchbox team is aware of the constant crashing and if the logs provided are helping? I have attached another log after a crash using Refired theme and WMP. I have tried both WMP and FFMEG and both crash. I rolled back to 13.24 and same thing. It's pretty frustrating honestly and I'm just hoping it's being worked on. Thanks Debug 2025-11-26 05-39-56 PM.log Quote

We’re currently gearing up for the next round of this beta, which includes a new set of fixes. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to reproduce your specific crash just yet and so can’t guarantee that it will address this issue specifically, but rest assured that we’re reviewing all of the logs and reports shared here to help us pinpoint areas for improvement. We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to send them over. Thanks again for keeping the reports coming, and apologies for the recent lack of acknowledgment. We hope to have a new beta ready soon so we can continue narrowing these issues down. 1 Quote

The Papaw Posted Friday at 11:23 AM Posted Friday at 11:23 AM Is there any way to sort these alphabetically by platform as they use to be, I think? Quote
Jabb3rJaw Posted Friday at 07:32 PM Posted Friday at 07:32 PM Not sure if this is a beta bug but running the beta I tried to download and replace all existing media and it would update the metadata but missed a bunch of downloads. I was missing a ton of clear logos. Kept trying to redownload after that but it wouldn’t download anything. Rolled back to 13.24 and downloads are working correctly. Quote

Are you able to provide the exact walkthrough of everything that you did, including the games you are trying to download for, and every option you chose within the Download Metadata and Media wizard? Jabb3rJaw Posted Friday at 11:55 PM Posted Friday at 11:55 PM Hi Faeran, Using the latest beta I chose to update and replace all media for all systems and left everything checked including everything with emumovies. It updated the metadata then started the downloads like normal. When the process finished it gave me the message saying xxxx amount of files were downloaded. I opened Bigbox and force updated the game wheels. When I opened the Arcade wheel I could see right away a bunch of games were missing on the wheel. I opened Sega Genesis and there were only 2 games on the wheel. I checked the images / clear logos folder and could again tell I was missing a bunch. I tried to update all systems again but this time i just had the clear logos checked and it updated the metadata again and said it would start the downloads but nothing ever happened. I tried this 3-4 times then rolled back to 13.24 and am in the process of downloading all media and with everything checked to make sure I'm not missing anything but am not replacing anything this time. 4 hours ago, faeran said: Are you able to provide the exact walkthrough of everything that you did, including the games you are trying to download for, and every option you chose within the Download Metadata and Media wizard? Jabb3rJaw Posted Saturday at 12:23 AM Posted Saturday at 12:23 AM On a side note it would be nice to have the option to skip the metadata update when I just did it 5 times in a row. I wish I had the option to just download media. It would be saving me a lot of time. 1 Quote

I was having similar issue, had about 40 systems scanned in a fresh build, then it would no longer get past scanning for roms, left it run for an hour for a platform that only had 73 games. Tried all kinds of things. Only way I was able to get it to get past the scanning was to move all the xml files in the data\platforms folder out , scan in a few more systems and then put the moved files back in. 21 hours ago, Jabb3rJaw said: On a side note it would be nice to have the option to skip the metadata update when I just did it 5 times in a row. Downloading the meta data every time sometimes take longer than downloading the media . . 🙃 Edited Saturday at 09:42 PM by The Papaw 1 Quote
dorkasaurus_rex Posted Sunday at 06:26 PM Posted Sunday at 06:26 PM It would be cool if we could weight the screensavers during Big Box to be "weighted" more to certain platforms, i.e., having it show more trailers for N64, PS1, PS2, instead of cycling through the 200 NES, GBS and Genesis games I have, etc. Also, a button to simply "skip to the next game in queue" or whatever while watching screensavers would be great, just like "press A to go to next" instead of only being able to watch and wait.
