LaunchBox 14.0.1 Beta Thread

Maybe I'm the only one, but since the introduction of screensavers I haven't had any success with marquee or ledblinky working when screensaver is on - 14.0.1 included.  Ledblinky just goes blank on the buttons and the marquee stays on whatever was last on screen before the screensaver starts.

Hey guys. Found a bug which affects multi-monitors. So i noticed a lot of the time if BB isnt the active window when i launch a game, i can hear BB navigation sounds at the same time so my controller is basically controlling BB and the emulator/game at the same time even though the emulator is on top of BB. If I click on BB 1st to make it the active window and then launch the game/emulator, my controller will work on the emulator/game only (normal behavior).

Hello all

I noticed that after upgrading to version 14.0, that the load time of big box has increased to close to a minute. Prior to the update, load times were about 30 seconds. I have already disabled storefront imports and non-local related games and neither has helped with load times.

I also encountered this one time, but only once so far.

I haven’t had any crashes since the update! Overall much better!! Only thing I’d like to see is Bigbox seems slower now. When I launch a game and it gets through the loading game message I get a black screen for about 7-8 seconds. Also the wheels don’t seem to load as fast as before if I scroll to a letter the wheel is blank for a couple of seconds. Other than that seems much better!!!

I'm on LaunchBox 14.0.1 and noticed a checkbox titled Default Emulator under Tools, Options, Platform Details.
Enabling this checkbox does not show the Default Emulator field in the right pane when in Platform view.
Am I missing something here?
By the way, I don't know whether the option is a recent or an earlier addition to LaunchBox, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong thread.

I've never noticed that before either. 😊

Try a different platform.  On my minimal laptop setup, Arcade shows MAME, Atari 2600 - RetroArch and for Windows (Steam), it doesn't show up at all.

Double check that "the" emulator has "Default Emulator" is checked for its platform.

Thanks for confirming it works (sort of) for you @JoeViking245.

All of my emulators are marked as the default in their Edit Emulator window for their associated platforms. The Default Emulator field doesn't show for any platform. Perhaps it's because I keep my emulators (and their games) outside of my LaunchBox folder, who knows?
It's not an issue for me, just curious.

Nah. Because default is default. No matter where they are.

What theme are you using?

With the box checked in Tools < Options < Visuals < Platform Details, here's what it looks like in the Default theme.

I kind of am now too.  

You could double check with the Emulators and Their Games / Platforms and Their Emulators plugin and see what it shows.

Just flip the switch to the right, select a platform and look for a 'blue' emulator.

(here it shows 4 emulators have an Associated Platform of Arcade and MAME is the one that has it checked as default.)

Or, if you're not really that interested, just let 'er be.

You are right. I switched to the default theme and it works fine.
Now that I know it's theme dependent I'll get around to examing my theme files whenever time permits.
