Default assets - Extract to Platforms directory 1.9.0

Awesome thanks for these, really makes some of my systems missing 3D boxes look a lot better.  

I was wondering if you could do a 3D box for arcade, preferably to match @Mr. RetroLust's 3D boxes, he does provide this template for them.

Was also wondering if you plan to make images for more systems? The ones for which artwork is rather hard to come by would be ideal, for example Fairchild Channel F, Bally Astrocade, Emerson Arcadia, Magnavox Odyssey 2, among others

Yes, I plan to add Arcade and use RetroLust assets to do so.

Yes, I plan on creating assets for a large number of systems, including those you listed.

Great work on these.  I just made this... thought I'd post it here in case anyone else finds it useful. I'm a fan of slightly more color than just the black boxes is all

I love this idea in theory -- in practice I'm not sure if I'm overlooking something obvious but I can't get these to show up! I've extracted the files to the correct directories, checked the names of the platforms, tried refreshing again and again -- and nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Does LaunchBox still display the default box for your missing media?

Ah. No. It displays a broken image icon. Sounds like I'm unaware of something pretty fundamental!

Can you grab a image as im not sure from the description what that is.

Not running a beta, no. Am on Version 9.9.

Sorry I don't think I described that well. The tiny Launchbox icon that shows up when an image is missing.

 @dragon57 probably be best to add to the description that the beta i think 9.10 beta 2?? is needed for these to work.  

Actually its 9.10 beta 1 and up. @Bellingham you can update to the beta by turning them on in Tools/Options/Updates, or you will need to wait for the 9.10 official release in order to use the default images.

I wanted to propose to those following/reading this thread that you post your requests for additions. I haven't had any time to work on anything new yet, but I did start to look at the systems @bundangdon listed above. Bally Astrocade stood out as being rather complete when I look at the Launchbox database, so I can't see the need, at least not right away, to create default media for this system. Am I missing something related to this?

Regardless, please start to post your requests so I can lend a critical eye on them and start to gather art for my use. Thanks!

Bally Astrocade does have a handful of missing boxes, while the Fairchild Channel F has a fair share of missing ones as they're both slightly obscure systems. A few more that could use default boxart are the Emerson Arcadia, Magnavox Odyssey 2 and RCA Studio II. Once again, really appreciate the effort and thanks a lot for sharing these!

I'm working on Fairchild Channel F  now. I'll circle back and get Astrocade next.
