I relied heavily on margin in the code. And that seams to be a bad idea.

I've got some ideas that may work. I'll try em out and get back to you.

@KaaMoS, Maybe you can give this one a try?

As I plan on having 3 versions of the theme I had to rewrite parts to make it possible for the third

version to work. An added bonus is that It will be easier to modify it for other aspect ratios.

 

Anyway This is just for the nes, let me know if it works better.

I was originally planning on making a pause theme to go with this, but why not go all the way and make a theme and pause theme?

Ive started with the theme and once its done I'll move on to the pause theme. I don't have a pause theme setup at the moment, had some issues with it last time. But is the pause manu just a list of options or do thay open up other "theme" windows?

Like in bigbox, if I click on achievements the standard big box achievements window is shown no matter what theme Im running. Is this the way the pause menu works too?

It is a list of options. If it is something like the view manual option it will open a pdf view of the manual. Achievements opens the standard LB/BB Retro Achievements window. Those windows are not editable as of now. You can check it out by using any Pause theme to see what items look like when you choose one. It would be the same for any Pause theme.

I was wondering....Is the loading bar supposed to be animated? (Filling from left to right?) Or still? On my setup it doesn't move. Just wondering if there's a setting or something I could change to make it animate? Great work on this, it's truly gorgeous and one of the few missing pieces to all aspects of Bigbox looking coherent

I would guess it only animates if you are unzipping a rom, Launchbox really doesnt know how long a emulator will take to load, but can estimate rom unzipping time.

I see. Yeah I've been just using it with my Windows games. I'll try it with a zipped game that uses an emulator to see if it works. Thanks!

Does the loading bar scroll and is the percentage displayed?

Yes the loading bar scrolls but there’s no percentage displayed

It uses the "Binding BackgroundImagePath", so if you have changed any settings in Tools -> Options -> Background Priorities, this may be the problem. I haven't messed around that much with these settings so I'm not sure.

This was the exact problem. I've never touched Background Priorities, so I presume by default Box - Front was top of the list and Fanart - Background wasn't even ticked let alone top of the list.

After ticking Fanart - Background and making it top priority in Background Priorities this has fixed this problem.

Hope you all are doing well

I haven't abandoned this startup theme, and I was working on a theme and pause theme to go with this startup theme.

I got an optic nerve inflammation, so my left eye has blurred vision and I can't see colors normally. Its getting better but I still can't see colors normally, and this makes it hard to work on a theme where seeing colors is kind of important 🙂

I'll be back working on this startup theme once I can see colors as normal again

Looks really nice, but it doesn't work for me (using the dark version with logos), whenever I hit "play" on game, Bigbox freezes (remaining on the game view) and I have to close the process, other  start-up themes work fine.

I am on Launchbox 13.3 (latest as of today), anyone else having the same problem?

This is probably a dumb question but where does it pull the fanart from? I get the clear logo showing up but the game background is missing me on every game. I have images in fanart-background for many but nothing shows up.

 

Edit: Nevermind. I have never touched the setting but for some reason I had to go to Tools>Options>Background Priorities and choose fanart-background (only amazon background was selected for whatever reason)

Sorry for the long time without any updates to this start-up theme. I'm able to be back here again

I've started working on a new theme. This will be my first Big Box theme. So I don't really know how long time it will take for me to get it ready, but its fun working on a theme. Once it's usable, I will upload it so if anyone wants to help me try it out and find what isn't work or what need to be changed

After my new theme is done, I'm planning on making a pause theme for it. Then a new start-up theme, and after that I'll update this start-up theme too
